A neighborhood staple, great people, great food, a value to our community. Love the pizza, pin wheels and their restaurant food is top notch!

As a local, I’m pleased that there is a truly good pizza spot around the corner. The brick oven pizzas are excellent as are the individual slices. The chicken parm pizza is excellent. However, once you venture into entrees the quality diminishes. They lack quality and truly fresh ingredients and the sauces are often bland and gloppy. It’s time for the owners or chefs to revisit their recipes and/or stay on top of their cooks.

Today my daughter and I had her birthday lunch at Spuntino’s. I love this restaurant — the atmosphere is just perfect and the tapas is delicious. We ordered from the lunch menu and was definitely not disappointed. May I recommend the pork belly sandwich or the grilled chicken and artichoke sandwich oozing with melted cheese that was truly a lovely lunch only to be topped with a delicious dessert! Please do try this restaurant you will not be disappointed! Carol P.

One of the better strip mall pizzerias on Long Island. Their slices are always fresh and flavorful. They don’t have many crazy topping pies as is the norm with these days with most places, but if it’s a standard option you’re looking for, they’re a great choice. The salad pizza is a great alternative if you’re on a war against sauce and cheese. The only thing I don’t love is their brick oven pizza as the crust is crunchy and dry. In my opinion, brick oven should have a bubbly fluffy crust. The pasta and entrees are above average and more creative than the sauce and cheese pizzerias that litter Long Island.

Horrible just horrible. I got fried calamari to start, rubber not crispy. As for my entrée I had chicken parmigiana, the cheese tasted fake and there was barley any. The chicken was chewy and soggy. My friend had chicken franchise and found the chicken chewy and the sauce bland. The prices we the worst part. Too expensive for the portions. I was extremely disappointed. Will never go back.

Spuntino is a very cozy pizzeria restaurant located in Dix Hills off of Jericho Turnpike. This location has a limited selection of pies available in-house and the restaurant also delivers. I stopped by for a quick lunch and had a rectangle slice with tomato, red pepper, basil and fresh mozzarella. I would say it was very good. The restaurant has comfortable booths. The price was moderate for my food. I might come back if I’m in the area.

Ate here twice in two days. First was a quick slice of regular cheese and grandma slice. Perfect. Really sorted me out, but I was only in there for 10 minutes. Second was a catering event done by the same people. Everything was top notch. Enjoyed the stuffed shells and the chicken parm. People said the chicken was so tender it melted in their mouth. Another guest really liked their dinner rolls which were like garlic knots without the garlic. Overall this is a very good pizza place/restaurant.

The food is always delicious! The buffalo slice is made with blue cheese melted in! So good! The soups have been very good, and pasta dishes were great! They are a little pricey, but at least you know the good is good!

Went out to try this place since I seen them advertised in clipper magazine, so I gave it a shot. Good thing I did… excellent scungilli and mussels in a fra diavlo red sauce. Excellent pizza and real good brewed fresh iced tea. Little pricey BUT We shall return…

I’ve never had a bad slice here. I’m a traditionalist, I prefer a good cheese slice. In my opinion, anyone can make a good specialty pie: if your chicken is good, or your eggplant or whatever, then your specialty pizza will also be good, But a plain slice is so basic, one bad ingredient will ruin it. If your crust is under cooked, or the sauce is too bland or the cheese not done enough, you have an inferior slice. However, Spuntino always gets it right! The crust is the perfect thickness, the sauce just robust enough and it mixes perfectly with the cheese, so it’s not white. Oh no, it’s more of an orange color. However, as good as their plain slice is, it’s their Sicilian I go back for. It’s the best Sicilian pie in a 20 mile radius, easily the best I’ve had. Perfect thickness and not too big. It’s filling while still just enough to make you want more. And once you eat here, you’ll return, I promise you. The service is outstanding. Whether you order at the counter or let the waitstaff help you, they’re friendly and quick. A solid 5 stars and in my top 3 Long Island pizzerias!

The Rigatoni Fiorentina(Chicken, spinach, & mozzarella cheese tossed in a creamy pink sauce) is ABSOLUTELY Out of This World. Its simply AMAZING. I haven’t ventured too far away from that dish on their menu, although I could only imagine that there are a bunch of other dishes that I’d love. But I can’t say enough about the Rigatoni Fiorentina. It’s probably my all time favorite Italian dish. I’ve never had it anywhere else. My favorite dish used to be Chicken Francese but Spuntino’s Rigatoni Fiorentina has changed that big time. GREATJOB!!! I can’t wait to come back and have it again and again and again.

This is one of my favorite spots to get an easy, comfortable Italian lunch or dinner in the area. Spuntino is super down-to-earth; the people are incredibly friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the place is just cozy to enjoy a bite. I can’t comment on the pizza, since i usually dine-in and order meals, but the food is always good. I especially recommend their soups. On a cold day, their chicken noodle soup will warm your soul. Their ‘Tuscan Hero’(grilled chicken, broccoli rabe, fresh mozzarella) is my go-to sandwich. Highly recommended.

Let me begin by saying this review is take out only… we called to order food was ready ½ hour later no quibbles here this is what we were told and it was ready to go I had a filled with and I mean filled with eggplant parmigiana hero surprisingly not so greasy heavy it was in fact pretty light lots of cheese and actually pretty bland tomato sauce but that is how I roll so it was fine I pulled out some of the eggplant I would like a parmigiana only hero someday my Cesar salad was fine nothing fancy I would give this place a try

I’ll be honest. The food may not be a five-star. I would have ordinarily given this place a four, but for excellent customer service that stands above the competition, they get bumped ahead. I have always felt that a good, caring wait staff can make or break a place. What’s the point of eating a great meal if the service is rude/bad ect. Due to that lovely hurricane, many(including myself) were without power for several days. Grading papers by candlelight, feeling what life would have been like in the 1800’s, thinking that they probably didn’t have pizza in the 1800’s, and then I craved Italian food. My boy’s apartment had no power, his rents had no power, so we decided to hit this place up… three times in one week. I loved that they had power strips available so those without electric could charge their stuff up. Really nice. Each time I came here, I got the tortellini in brodo soup, a personal fav. And the soup here is on point — nice broth that’s not too salty, and they didn’t skimp on the tortellini. The minestrone was also good, the boy loved it and got it each time as well. Onto the secondi piatti(second plate), Momma S and I shared the baked eggplant Siciliana. It was with penne pasta, ricotta, the mozzarella melted on top and of course — eggplant. It was pretty good, but a little bit heavy on the ricotta. I like mine to be a bit saucier. it was more than enough for two people, and still plenty to wrap up and eat the next day. On another outing, I got a chicken panino. Basically a really nice sized piece of grilled chicken on a warm toasted roll with roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella and I asked for pesto on the side. The pesto was super tasty and made the sandwich. Ordinarily this doesn’t come with a sauce, but the pesto makes it. Even the waiter was eyeing my sandwich and thought it was a great idea to add the pesto. He says people rave about the pesto, and with good reason. And it’s $ 5.50 for this. People are complaining about the prices here? You’d pay that for a crappy chicken sandwich at a fast food place! All paired well with a smooth glass of cab. And when the bill came, the waiter gave us a generous discount, knowing the without power situation and knowing that we had been there every other day. I can’t speak for the pizza because I haven’t had it. But the people are super nice, the soup was delicious and it’s very reasonably priced.
