Gary Short – State Farm Insurance Agent

Gary Short was very nice to work with and showed care after my husband passing. He was very comforting and understanding and worked with me on all of my type of insurance policies. Gary was able to help me save money and concentrate what was important to me specifically.

I had the worst experience with Gary. I called him for a quote about two years ago and it took him about two weeks to give me a quote. I had to send him a copy of my current insurance information which was inconvenient to say the least. Then he wouldn’t give me a straight answer when I asked him what my monthly payment would be. After that experience I decided not to go with State Farm. Last year however I called another agent in town also State Farm and they had the best customer service I have ever received! ! They also gave me a quote for my homeowners insurance and auto insurance in 10 minutes. I signed up with them on the spot! For the last two years Gary and his staff call me continually. This week I received four phone calls and four emails. I called them and told Gary to STOP calling me! ! I told them that my father just died and to stop harassing me. Gary continued to email me and said he was trying to talk to my husband. That was offensive since he had NEVER talked with my husband. He never once offered me any condolences when I told him numerous times my father had just died. He was rude and condescending. I will be filing a formal complaint with State Farm.

Gary Short handles the liability policy for our nonprofit organization including a variety of events in the bay Area. His prompt help in assuring we have the necessary coverage has built a highly satisfying relationship.

We’ve been with State Farm for decades, and have been with Gary Short since he took over the agency in Dixon. Gary and his staff are always helpful, very responsive to our needs and quickly find solutions to any problems; nothing ever falls through the cracks; the customer service is outstanding. Call on a Sunday to add a new car to a policy? Not a problem; had proof of insurance cards immediately. The few times we’ve had claims, they were always resolved immediately and fairly; we’ve never felt shortchanged.
Is State Farm the cheapest insurance? No. But, you get what you pay for. We’ve always been treated fairly — that is why we will remain with State Farm.

We had Bob Atwood State Farm for years. Honestly when this young kid, Gary Short took over, we had reservations. Sorry, Gary, true story.
Now these many years later, through a teenage son, a deer and a rental car, long commutes, 4 new vehicles and now, to my husband’s retirement; Gary and his team have been there every step of the way.
I recently needed to make changes to our policy and Wendy was so patient and personable. Wendy ensured all my insurance questions were adressed and any concerns I had were resolved in a timely manner. Throughout the years all of the staff have been that way.
The service is 5 Star, the prices we find a bit high on a fixed income.

I was with them for 12 years overall the coverage and cost were fine but they were RUDE RUDE RUDE. My advice is find a different State Farm to do business with.

We met Gary Short (State Farm Insurance) 2 years ago and have since then handed him all of our insurance work (cars, house, renters, etc). He is 100% committed to his clients and is, simply put, super-​proactive in his work. For example, when our old insurance agent from Farmers tried to cheat on our house insurance (I still ought to write a review about that), Gary gave advice on how to deal with it. He even made the effort to drive out from Dixon to inspect the property and get things sorted swiftly. Gary is super responsive and he will get back to you same day (in our case over email as that works best for me). It’s a very personal insurance experience and beats any other company (including price!) where you’re just a number. wrestling your way through customer service etc.
