My husband and I, decided to give Mary’s another try. Had good food and probably the best service ever! Thanks,(Andreia).

I will not let this one location deter my love of Mary’s! The first thing we hear is «don’t seat them with me!» barked at the hostess Fine we would want you as our waitress anyhow!(My mom is an excellent tipper, sometimes 100% around the holidays! Your loss!) I get that you have a large party and probably other tables, but we never should have heard that! The service was so slow!!! First things first, as we had been on the road for a while, I went to the restroom… We had not even been greeted by the time I got back. Waited. Finally waitress comes by to tell us she’ll be right back Waited. She comes by gets the drink order and off she goes Waited. Waited. Drinks!(No lemon in my water as requested!) Had a few questions, needed a few more minutes now that we somewhat had answers Ordered two Mary’s salads on large one small and a small pizza; no cheese, no meat, garlic, onions and pineapple(I don’t question my child’s taste) and also three dishes to go. Now we wait. Salads come, no pizza.(A little skimpy on the toppings, I mean come on it the whole point we don’t want to pay for lettuce!) Finally had to ask about the pizza. A few more minutes, I’m done with my small salad. My daughter gets her pizza… There is 1.5 oz of garlic covering the whole thing! She couldn’t scrap it off without taking of the rest of the toppings! We asked the waitress about speaking to someone about the amount of garlic and the first thing out of her mouth is «well I didn’t make it» Yes I am aware YOU didn’t make it but someone did and we would like to discuss this… I hear her talking to the kid making pizza, «well was it too much or not enough?» «Too much» Nothing! Nobody came by, she came back to tell us how much was used but then nothing! I don’t even think this place has a manager! My mother who doesn’t like to make a fuss insisted we just go, she gave the girl a tip she did not earn or deserve. I will not let this stop me from going to Mary’s, I’ll just never go back to this one! All I can hope for now is that someone who actually gives a hoot reads this and find servers who can do their job! I live in Los Angeles and go to a Mary’s anytime I make it to Northern California, but not this one not ever again! (Here’s your Wow moment; WOW I can’t believe you let these people represent you!) Just checked our togo order… 1 out of three items are correct! I’m calling!

Everything was delicious except for the breadsticks. Also, the whipped cream tasted like hand sanitizer.

Horrible! Never again. Talk about discriminatory towards people with disabilities. We stopped by on our way back from the Bay area and long camping trip. We had our dog with us and we were very hungry. Since we had our trailer, the only place we could park was on the street so Mary’s seemed like a great place since they have an outside sitting area and no one was sitting there. Since leaving your dog in the car is against the law we thought it would be okay to have our dog outside as we have everywhere else. Not so at this place. Even though there was no one there and we were willing to sit outside, we were told our friendly dog would need to be tied to a tree away from the building for us to be able to stay. Really? Isn’t that considered not only cruel but illegal also? I will Never go to this establishment again. Now I know why they have so many bad reviews. Poor service, poor management and unfriendly. Btw did I mention that my service dog is for my diabetes and it is actually illegal to ban people with disabilities?

Ordered their cheese garlic bread and a combination pizza for take out. I waited which was ok because that meant my food would be hot when I got home. I live less than 2 miles away, my food was barely warm and both the pizza and bread were greasy.

Best pasta and pizza for the area… the staff spends some time chatting when able, checked on us in between refills and serving. Took my BF and he LOVED it, have tried other locations after and severely disappointed with them. We will only choose Dixon from now on.

Service was very slow and it took over 30 minutes to get 2 small pizzas. Our waitress was forgetful and didn’t seem concerned or attentive. Pizzas were overpriced and mediocre. Honestly I would have had a better experience ordering Dominoes and probably would have received it faster at a fraction of the cost. Garlic bread was tough and lacked flavor. Won’t be visiting this establishment again.

My wife is not a big lover of pizza, but she will make a special exception for Mary’s. Today, we are eating here for our fourth time together and each time has been wonderfully prepared Italian cuisine with great service. I cannot imagine anyone giving this place less than 4 stars for what it is. It isn’t fine dining but the food and experience in a family restaurant setting is superb. Today, Fabian, our server was indeed great. He remembered details to our order that most fine dining places would have made us wait longer. We will come here as often as possible!!!

An average to above average place that is very popular and busy. The pizza crust was great. We had the Nepolatina, a simple veggie, but added Italian sausage. Beer selection could have been much better(but then again this is wine country and not Portland, OR) Wine selection was typical NorCal — wine region like. This was our second visit and we weren’t disappointed.

I’ve always loved Mary’s salads. This was my first time at this location and the service and food was great. Our server Angela was very friendly and attentive. Next time I’m in the area, I will definitely be back here.

Sometime ago we ordered pizza to take out. It was very busy and my son and I ordered ahead. We were told 20 minutes. We headed out at the appointed time and checked in at the counter. No pizza but it was coming. A half an hour later no pizza but we were told they were busy and working on it. Twenty minutes after that(we have now wasted 70 minutes) they find out pizza was placed on top of a warming oven or something. They apologize and we head home with what we think is good pizza. When we get home the pizza is cold and marginal at best. I have never liked Mary’s pizza shack and I will never go back. It was expensive and a waste of money and awful

My friend has been trying to get us to go here for the longest time because he loves the Gnocchi with a Giant Meatball. So, we finally gave it a try. For our appetizers we got bread sticks, and calamari fritti. The bread sticks were over cooked, charry, and no flavor. The calamari fritti was a bit expensive to be just«ok.» We also ordered a medium Pizza a la Sriracha, and Pepperoni Pizza. The Pizza a la Sriracha was tasty, but nothing special. The $ 20 medium Pepperoni Pizza was, meh. In addition, they forgot to add the artichokes in the Sriracha pizza; the server offered to take the pizza back and have it added, but I was so hungry I told her never mind. I don’t know if they took that off of our bill because we did not get an itemized receipt. Our dining companion loves the Gnocchi.

Hubs and I have been coming here for over 10 years. The pizza is delicious and we love the house salad with Sonoma Italian dressing. And getting the HB to eat a salad is tough work, but not here. We came here last Friday night for dinner. We sat in the little front room, out waiter was Joshua. He was awesome. Even though he worked tables in both dining areas, he always made sure our drinks were filled and dishes cleared. Plus Joshua had a great attitude, upbeat personality. We got our garlic cheesy bread –small order ~$ 5, small Marys signature salad ~$ 6(the small order is a generous size), and medium two topping pizza ~$ 18 in that order with great timing. The paprika on the garlic cheese bread gave it a great flavor. And they have pretty diverse wine & beer selection for a pizza place anyway. Also they carry bottled soda in several flavors… which is great if you are avoiding HFCS. They have a small bar, with about 4 – 6 stools, and an outdoor patio for dining. If your driving on I-80, check out this place. Exit 64 for Pitt School Road. This place is on Ary Lane, which off of Pitt School Road.

I should start this review by saying that our family LOVES Mary’s, have been going for years and even though this is a 2 star review, I really wavered between a 2 and 3 star review based on not just our latest experience, but many years of being a loyal customer(at least in our own minds). Where I came down was on the side of 2 stars in that tough love kind of way that my WWII era father would be proud of. The food here is consistent, good, fresh and well prepared. We never go for the pizza really, but when we do, it is a hit. I always go for the He & She meatballs, which I love and makes me good and fat so that my family can make fun of me for being… well…good and fat.(ok, just fat). But, really, Mary’s has to bring someone in to train the servers and get the service right. They seem to hire well in that the servers are definitely friendly, but it is REALLY obvious that they have never worked in the restaurant industry previously. I watched our waiter make 3 trips for drinks, bread, breadsticks he could have brought out on 1 tray and had no clue that when he brought out everything at once(apps and dinner, leaving out the dinner for my 11 yr old daughter whose food arrived after everyone else was done… definitely a sign of someone who doesn’t have kids), that would be a problem. He apologized… again, super nice… but nice doesn’t make up for paying to go out to eat. Also, it seemed rather random how the wait staff handled tables and sections, definitely not designed consciously for faster or efficient service. All fixable problems. And, after experiencing this more than 10 times, I just had to say something. Mary’s is one of those places that DESERVES to be the iconic restaurant that families talk about as their ‘GOTO’ place that other families will never understand(all families have THAT place) but with service so poor(and really, it is very fixable, as noted above), we’ll just choose to go elsewhere. I will miss those meatballs.

Just finished up having a meal here with the family. Overall its pretty average, the pizza is clearly the main draw so dont really bother with anything else. Also expect slightly below average service considering they forgot a whole meal and some drinks. Still, for a stop after a long drive its better than nothing.

Came to Mary’s this past Saturday for lunch with my better half, her mom and boyfriend, and my little man. It was warm out so we sat outside, perfect for when you have a crazy toddler. I ordered the BLTA(bacon, lettuce, tomato, and avocado on Foccacia bread) It was delish! Also got the garlic fries, not enough garlic… basically regular fries for a couple bucks more. Don’t waste the money upgrading your fries here. To drink I had the Gordon Biersch Mary’s IPA. It was OK but more malty than what I would prefer. One would think if ordering a specialized IPA at a West Coast pizza joint it would be «Hop Forward» style It tasted more like a Newcastle… for my second beer I opted for the Sierra Nevada on draft… always a winner! Our server was a nice young lady and she kept our drinks full and was very attentive, great service. I have been there twice before. The pizza and the chicken parm’ are excellent! My better half raves about the creamy pesto Gnocchi. Take away one star for the garlic fries but overall a great place to eat and we will return.

Tuscan pizza and creamy pesto tortellini were both delicious! Service was horrible. No refills on our drinks, had to ask for bread that was said to be included with the pasta, and our waiter repeatedly would go into the kitchen to pull out his cell phone. Thumbs up to the cook, thumbs down for our server.

First time there last night, had chicken fettuccine alfredo which comes with salad. Both were very good big portions and the salad was packed with veggies cheese slice of salami. Will definitely go back if I’m in that area! Pesto twisty bread was also good.

Right off the freeway at Pitt School road. I’d recommend Mary’s Pizza Shack as a place to pull off and grub/rest when passing through. It’s not really a destination. In the case of my visit here, our group had attended a service at the National Cemetery just up the road. We met for a group lunch(13 of us) and we were accommodated and served quickly and efficiently. I didn’t hear one sigh from our waitress when someone in our group blurted out, «Separate Checks!» Oh my. No one in our group ordered Pizza. Go figure. There were salads up and down each side of the table. For the most part, we all opted for lunch portions. It was a brisk day and a tad foggy and after standing for a while at the service, I opted for the Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup. White cheddar and parmesan cheese and choice of pesto or marinara sauce on grilled focaccia. I opted for the pesto. I think the facaccia could have been sliced a bit more evenly as one side was super thin and the other was thick… the pesto kind of oozed through the thin side. Otherwise, a good sandwich. The soup had a slight bite, which I like. I do know that the soup was not«fresh» today. When asked of other soup beside minestrone, the waitress mentioned the Tomato would have to be heated up. It was a good lunch. Not memorable but good. I’d return here when passing through and a better option for me than a burger at McD’s.
