Orom Restaurant

Found on Unilocal as I am passing through. Great service and great food! Great wine choices, craft beers. Loved the toast points with goat cheese and what a great steak!

While traveling across the country we stayed in Dixon. We weren’t sure where to go for supper, and found Orom on Unilocal.What a pleasant surprise. The goat cheese toast points were superb — creamy goat cheese, walnuts, and honey. While they didn’t have a vegetarian entrée for my wife, chef was very accomodating. I had the flat iron steak, it was cooked perfectly. One daughter had the filet mignon. It was so good she’s going to move to Dixon and live with n their filet mignon. She ordered it med. well and they asked if she wanted it butterflied, so they know what they’re doing. Only complaint is that Nitro stout needs to be poured straight into the glass, not along side. I don’t understand why there’s not an hour wait on a Saturday night for this place. People of Dixon: get out and support this place!

Wonderful find in the heart of Dixon downtown! I was in for business and was SO happy to find this local gem. Excellent, quality food and superb service! You can tell the Chef cares about flavor AND presentation. I’ve been back for a second visit and will continue to return every time I am in town. My first visit, I ate in the dining room and had grilled fish on a bed of asparagus risotto. The next visit I sat at the bar and had the filet. Both dinners were delicious and pleasing experiences. Thank you, Orum and staff.

This place is great! My wife and I have been here 5+ times for dinner as well as a couple times for special brunches, and the food and service has always been excellent. Mostly recently had the oysters as an appetizer and they were really fresh (which I can’t say I expected in Dixon, IL). The do an excellent job with their menu and beer/​wine list. I will definitely be back here many more times.

In tiwn visiting family and decided to try it. Plain and simple, it was delicious!!! I had the chicken marsala he had the walleye. We had the goat cheese pointes for an appetizer. I cannot tell you how good everything was. Limited menu but it was perfect. Will definitely come back!

AMAZING fish tacos… Atmosphere so relaxing with great music, art work and the staff was exceptional. I WILL be back.

This place is amazing! My wife and I finally stopped in, and both wondered what took us so long to check this place out! My wife ordered duck, while I had halibut. Both dishes were amazing! My halibut, which had just arrived that morning, was as good as any I’d eaten in Alaska. Cooked and seasoned to perfection, with stunning plating and presentation. The soup of the day was a strawberry and peach gazpacho, which was absolutely delicious! For dessert we had vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce and caramel corn. It even came with little toys since it was like a Cracker Jack!
As a bonus, they support local food sources and display artwork from local artists, including our waitress. The dining room is small, so calling ahead for reservations would be a good idea. My wife and I agreed we’ve found our new favorite place to dine for special occasions!

We are so lucky to have a restaurant of this quality way out here in farm country! Nothing else is the area can touch this. The atmosphere is great, the food is fabulous, and the owners and the staff are the best! Definitely fit for foodies!

The best in Dixon, hands down! The duck is delicious and served two ways. The soups are wonderful, although limited, the menu always has a nice choice of selections. Love it!

Excellent, local, fresh, wonderfully prepared food. Small, but thoughtful menu with enough options for any eater. Our party had filet, duck, and scallops… All lovely with an excellent starter surprise of a chilled spinach soup. Great wine prices as well. They offer European style serving sizes (aka appropriate!), which may look smaller to the average Midwest customer, but they are just perfect. Stop by and enjoy a gem in the heart of Dixon.

Excellent restaurant in downtown Dixon. Creative cuisine. Nice minimalist atmosphere. We had the scallops on Saturday night and it was wonderful and delicious. Reserve ahead on weekends as the dining room was packed.
