Seriously this place deserves 10 stars! This place literally reminds me of my mom’s house. Everything here is made to order. The meat isnt grilled until your order is placed. Nothing is sitting there waiting to be served to customers. Everytime I go to Dixon, I have to stop and eat here. Usually its a mom and pop working with maybe one other person. Some people on here complained that they waited too long. If you want fast food, there is a McDonalds a couple blocks away. Amazing food is not rushed. Yea the wait is a little long, but it is worth it. It is only long because the food is literally being prepared as you wait. I heard the blender blending the Chilaquile sauce after I had ordered it. I told myself«these chilaquiles are going to be amazing!» The sauce consistency was on point. The flavors were all there. The food smelled delicious. Everything was seasoned perfectly. Mom and pop are the sweetest and will always make sure you have everything you need :) If you want a true authentic, hole in the wall mexican food experience, i definitely recommend this place. **Remember it is cash only**

This is a hole in the wall but they have the best huevos rancheros and corn quesadillas. The people who work there are very nice.

What a quaint little place. The couple working were extremely friendly and took a great deal of pride in their cooking and service. A true«mom and pop» feel. The simplicity of the restaurant might keep some people away. However, they are missing out on a genuine diamond in the rough. I would greatly recommend this restaurant to all!

Food is good, cash only, but man are they slow. The flour tortillas are the real star here.

Im town for work and decided to stop by this«hole in the wall». Always the best finds in the smallest places. Very authentic and very good. Also cochinita pibil! Cant get any better. Also a very mom and pop Establishment. Freshly cooked so dont expect quick service and food, and yes only cash. Most small businesses only prefer cash so they get all the profit. So get off the credit and debit high horse and bring a $ 20 in to experience some great homemade food. Also whoever rated it one star and suggested its a front for illegal business because no one was attending the front, you are an idiot to put it politely. Enjoy the great food and support local small business!

Wow. We moved to Dixon five years ago and have been missing out on this diamond in the rough. Taqueria Adelina is a small hole in the wall in downtown Dixon, but the food is 1st rate. Our party of 5 ordered a variety of dishes: Alambres, Huaraches, Cochinita Pibil. All were excellent. These are authentic, homemade dishes. Not the Americanized food you can find at some restaurants. We’ll definitely keep coming back. I’ve already found an excuse to sneak back on a lunch break. Service was not speedy, so definitely something to avoid if you’re in a rush or starving.

Oh boy! Waiting 50 minutes for the hors d’oeuvres to be served while you’re extremely hungry can be a real torture. «Mantén la calma» doesn’t work. The place is small and organized in mexican way. Everything run its«calma» course. The ladies cook like if the Sunday there was infected with slow-motion-disease. We ate the food because we were very hungry, and because the choice was limited to two to two similar alternatives, otherwise we wouldn’t. The dishes were tasteless and watery. My pozole soup was awfully fatty. But worst of all the place was simply filthy.

Love it. Yes the place looks old and grungy, but that doesn’t matter to me. The burritos are bomb. The tacos are bomb as well. Best Mexican food in Dixon, bar none.

By far the best mexican food in the area. Los huaraches are so yummy. They always take their time and make sure your order is perfect! Tacos and burritos also super delicious.

Love these mom and pop shops! I happened to be in Dixon early for a meet. So I stopped by this place to get some dinner. I interested in Mexican food and the reviews of this peeked my interest. This place is like all other mom and pop shops. The atmosphere was very homely and I was happily greeted by the staff. I ordered the super burrito that I have heard others say was good. I ordered the carne asada super burrito and it was really good, I liked that they grilled the outside of the burrito just a little bit to add a bit of stiffness to the tortilla(nothing ruins a burrito like a soft tortilla that starts falling apart!). There was one cashier and one cook with maybe a cook’s helper there. If this is their normal staff, I wonder how fast service would be when the place is busy. I was the only one that came in around 7pm and turnaround time was average. –1 Star: Cash Only I did not realize that this place was cash only; I only found that out when I stepped into the establishment and saw a sign that said Cash Only, Sorry. I make the majority of my purcheses with my debit card and while it’s always good practice to have some cash on you, I may not always have cash on hand. I had just so happen to have a 10 note in my pocket. Pure luck! Honestly, if I didn’t have that 10 with me, I would of had to walk out and go to another establishment that accepts card. I would like to note that I didn’t receive chips and bean dip like some of the other reviewers. Maybe it’s not their standard thing and only when they feel inclined. Just a tad disappointed but I don’t hold this against them. I would love to come here again to try different menu items. The tacos look good!

I had the asada super burrito and it was very good. Made right in front of you and very tasty. A little slow but piping hot and better than average tasting. The restaurant is a hole in the wall and quite frankly very dirty looking. The restrooms were not particularly clean and the woman who took my order and was the cashier sneezed ind wiped her nose on a tissue but never washed her hands. Thankfully the cook served me my meal and it wasn’t an issue but still not particularly appetizing. Rated the food. Not the shop.

I’ve been writing reviews for on line gigs for some time now. I’m going to say this was the most interesting. The first time, I drove up and down the street looking for parking, finally found one, not disabled, and I am disabled. No biggie, I can limp just fine. I finally got to the door and it said«CASHONLY»…Ok, so I don’t use cash very often, and today was no exception. I had to try a different place that turned out fantastic. I tried this place another time when I made a point of having a twenty in my wallet. I walked in at noon, no body in or around, I read a menu, still no one. I went to the restroom, still no one in sight and no sounds. BIZZARRE. I had to walk away AGAIN! This place must be a front for some other monkey business, because the reviews don’t make any sense at all, especially with much better places so nearby. Has to be family or friends saying how great it is, it’s old, smells bad, needs paint and they need to join this century with credit and debit cards… unless they serve some darker product in reality

STOP: note this review is for foodies only and not food snobs(how to know if you are a food snob? Do you need ambience, white tablecloths and snobby waiters? If so, move on from this review) This place is unbelievable. My hubby and I are huge Mexican food fans, we go to Mexico every year and I have taken cooking classes there as well. In fact, the guy at the local Mexican market, comments on my hair cut so you know I am in there way too often, esp. for a white gal that speaks NO Spanish! We felt like we had stepped into a family kitchen with the Mom at the stove and the Papa helping out. I had a carne asada Huarache which is a fried masa base with toppings. They did it on the grill and made it right there in front of us. OMG!!! Hubby had a super burrito that they crisped on the grill. We were actually making moaning sounds that sounded like they should have been in an X movie! While we waited, without asking, the Papa brought us chips covered in warm beans and melted cheese with 2 homemade salsas. Green(my favorite) and red, soooooo good!!! We had 2 bottled Mexican cokes. Our order was $ 18 and we rounded up to $ 25. I almost hate to review them because it will increase business but such good food and so reasonable, I hate to not review them because they are so nice and their food is soooo good, I want them to succeed. We don’t live close but OMG, I will go back there is a second. They are very shy and English is not their first language, so please be patient and not act like loud Americans! P. S. I went to the bathroom and you could literally eat off the floor in there. Noted on the way, that the pantry contained, like 5 ingredients, dried beans, rice and seasonings. Now that is a sign of a good Mexican restaurant.

I drove to Dixon hoping to try the new Baldos in the area but it was closed on a Wednesday night. My friends and I decided to come here since it was basically the only other place open in the area and its across the street from Baldos. We were not disappointed! Why hasn’t anyone discovered this place yet?! We happened to come on a good day cuz waddya know, we ended up here on dollar taco night! Its a cute family owned authentic mexican restaurant. Service is a bit slow, but hey what do you expect? There’s only one cook. I had 4 tacos for $ 4, such a steal! I didn’t get the chance to see the pricing for the other days of the week. The tacos were decent, the tortillas could use a little improvement but the meat inside was delicious. Im not sure if I would pay more than $ 1.50 for these tacos since they werent exactly the BEST tacos I’ve ever had, but for $ 1, you cant really complain. I cant say much about the other specials of the week but if you happen to be in the area on WEDNESDAY nights, come here for dollar tacos! You wont be disappointed!

This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Dixon and give El Tejaban in Vacaville a real run for tops. I had the cochinita pibil based on RickE’s recommendation and very thorough review. Luckily I live in Dixon so I will check out a few menu items. I favor the super burrito with carne asada, despite Rick’s critique of said menu item. They now have menus in English. They seem a bit put off when you arrive and order, but the food is too good to pass up. If you ask for chips and salsa you get a bowl of tortilla chips covered in re-fried beans and cheese! Worth a diversion from I-80 to downtown Dixon

This is a great place to eat some authentic mexican food. Its owned by the mother Adelina, and the rest of the family woks there. Most of the time you will see the 3 brothers there and the dad taking orders. The food is fantastic. just to give you some comparison i like to eat at those mexican restaurants that are very authentic, like primos on northgate in sacramento and rincon alteno in natomas. go on wednesday and get dollar tacos just to try it out. You wont be disappointed. I have been going on most wednesdays for over a year and also other days. My wife and i eat there and get 2 super burritos for like 12 bucks. when you eat in they give you a small bowl home made chips with beens and cheese with 3 different kinds of salsa. They make you feel right at home. I always forget to take pictures but maybe next week i will take some.
