I want to like this place, I really do. Unfortunately, I’ve been here three times, and every time it’s just an extraordinarily mediocre experience! Today, I ordered Toro sashimi, Yellow Tail sashimi, an Avocado Roll, Unagi, and a House Salad. The Toro was slightly gray around the edges. Not good. Not fresh! And I left it mostly behind. The Unagi was filled with lots of little tiny bones, so left it behind too. The yellow tail was excellent! However, they forgot my house salad, though I asked twice about it. Anyway, I know people rave about this place, but in my opinion the sashimi/sushi needs to stand on its own, which it doesn’t. I have had much better, and more consistent experiences with Sushi Niji just down the block. Perhaps not as fancy of a place, but much better fish and much better service! Probably best to leave sushi for Manhattan dining out, where Sushi Seki, Sushi Yasuda or Koi are the best options!

Best in Westchester. Great food, excellent service and gluten free tamari. No need to go to NYC for great sushi.

It’s a nice restaurant and quiet town. Not too many selection of sushi but offer plently of different dishes. It’s a perfect spot for date night.

Excellent sushi, convivial owner. Efficient if not a little rushed in service but that also means not too long of a wait in this crowded sushi place. The fish is super fresh and the rolls creative. Good with kids too!

We order from them once every 2 weeks or so and some days we eat in. The kids love the sweet potato roll and chicken teriyaki. Everything is very fresh and made to order from kitchen and sushi bar. Fish teriyaki(tuna) is worth it very good. All rolls we have tried l were not a disappointment. Will keep ordering from them. Thank you !!

Truly love this place. Owner’s a gentleman and so are the chefs; Eddie’s the man and will do you right if you want awesome omakase. More importantly, the food is great. I love sushi, I get it all the time and I’m quick to bust balls – Sushi Mike’s is where it’s at. Don’t pay any attention to the haters. I see some people complaining about the price. It might be a little more expensive than some other places(of equal caliber), but I’d happily pay the couple extra bucks for the quality. They clearly seek out the goods – the fish is always fresh and they even have rare and cool selections you will seldom see elsewhere. Seriously, get the omakase or ask someone behind the sushi counter what’s fresh, rare and good. They’re super friendly and accommodating and will point you in the right direction. I love nigiri and sashimi and this place makes a killer ‘sushi deluxe’. No piece of fish is alike; they don’t give you three pieces of salmon, three pieces of tuna and a bunch of other shitty pieces like most places. Every piece of fish is different and the deluxe is called that because it is in fact deluxe. I really can’t recommend this place enough. It is a little expensive(you get what you pay for) and it does get super packed on Fridays and weekends, so make sure you have a reservation.

Sushi Mike’s is still on my list of go-to places. Still has fun, huge rolls. And I still love the Hamachi Kama(grilled yellowtail cheek). This is also still the only Japanese restaurant I’ve ever been to that serves a clam and ginger soup. It’s great, if you want something a little different.

This place is me and my girlfriend’s go-to sushi place when we want to go out. I am a total sushi purist so I only order pieces, but when I have tried the rolls I have found that they are good quality and pretty creative too. The pieces are a decent size and very fine quality. The only time the pieces were even close to mediocre was when I went in the middle of the week on one occasion. Other than that one time, I have never had a less than superb meal. In terms of price, I really don’t understand why people here are complaining about the price. The prices are comparable to almost every other sushi restaurant in Westchester and considering the quality of the fish, Mike’s could probably charge more if it wanted to. The staff is efficient and the space is tight, but the food is worth it.

The place is good. No doubt it’s very expensive but you can tell with each and every bite you are getting a quality product. I cannot say that about the bland and watery garlic broccoli that we ordered as an appetizer. Definitely a let down there. The service is quite good. Very attentive and fast. We were in a bit of a rush and we received all of our food in a timely fashion and were able to enjoy our food and get on our way with enough time to spare.

Fresh, very good rolls, and nice owner. What else do you want. The place is also nice and dark in the lower tables area, or you can sit at the tables on top by the sushi bar, they have more lighting by those. You won’t be disappointed

Have eaten here about half a dozen times and my opinion has remained unchanged. Great sushi but not worth the expense UNLESS you get the 10 lunch special. Otherwise, the food is overly expensive for inadequately sized portions. Will get sushi from other places in the future.

If you can find a seat in this place you’re in for a treat. Although this place is small its worth the wait. The sushi is fresh and the staff is friendly. They also have a very cute puffer fish in their fish tank, check it out, let it know I said hi. Highly recommended.

Excellent! Started with gyoza, shrimp shumai, seaweed salad and warm sake. Entrees were a shashimi assortment, Fuzzy yellowtail roll and Fire dragon roll. Everything was absolutely delicious. We ate every last bite! Very much looking forward to visiting again :) *Place is small and got very crowded, very fast. make a res. definitely worth it.

Crowded and weirdly split-level sushi«bar» that had none of the relaxed enjoyment of the fish that I have come to expect from a proper sushi bar. This was all pack-em-in, and get-em-out on a Friday night, and we were squeezed in like raw sardines(not on the menu, FWIW). The fuzzy roll was fine, and the gyoza and miso soup were quite exceptional. I’m no stranger to sushi, but the server was both completely condescending and uncommunicatively not understandable in questioning by choices, and unhelpful with discussing the things I wasn’t familiar with. My companions were more satisfied with their sampler plates and maki, so in good faith I’ll average our experiences out to three stars. That said, also a touch expensive for the fare offered, albeit at Westchester standard prices, I suppose.

On a pure food quality basis, this is probably the best Sushi restaurant in Westchester. The rolls here are gigantic but awesome. Their American Hero roll is a personal favorite and ridiculously delicious. They get 4 stars from me because the place is pretty small and usually quite cramped. You’ll be sitting very close to other patrons out of pure need for space. The service is ok but nothing to write home about. But I reiterate again, the sushi here is fantastic and you’ll be hard pressed to find better anywhere in the county.

We have been here several times and the service and the food is always good. We live nearby in Irvington and we are never disappointed. Tonight we had the Dynamite roll, crazy roll and several pieces. Great service too!

Came by for dinner and saw all the great reviews and I was so excited! Until I walked in. They say us down without menus and it took them 30 minutes to even ask us for our drink order. They came back with flat sodas. We ordered our sushi and it was definitely not on my list of best sushi. The presentation was nice but the actual food was not appetizing. The waitresses never came by to check on us, only to rush us out. If there was so much urgency to get us out, at least have a clean restaurant. The carpet was filthy. 1 star for the art on the wall and 1 star for the green tea ice cream. I’ll pass next time.

I see a lot of mixed opinions for this restaurant. This is probably the best sushi place in Westchester. With that being said, there are better and cheaper places in Manhattan if you’re willing to make the trek. I’d probably go back once a year to get my local sushi fix. I’ve tried most of the sushi on the menu. The fish is fairly fresh and flavorful, the rice is good, and the presentation is about what you would expect. The salmon was very buttery and practically melted in my mouth. They have some good oyster shooters too. The service is pretty decent, everything came quick and they haven’t messed up an order yet. I can’t say I would highly recommend this place, but it is certainly worth trying out.

As a Dobbs Ferry resident, I’ve gone to and taken out from Sushi Mikes for years now, and never has it disappointed. It’s a reliably excellent sushi restaurant. I was prepared to give Sushi Mikes four stars on Unilocal.Until yesterday. Yesterday, my mother and I had a meal at Sushi Mikes that blew us away. Was it expensive? Yes. But it was also one of the best meals I’ve had in recent memory. Usually at Sushi Mikes I order Miso Soup, Garlic Broccoli(shared w/my mom), Edamame(shared), a Joe Petito Roll(not on the menu but fantastic; shrimp tempura roll w/avocado), and an S and S Roll. I’ve tried almost every roll on the menu and these two are by far my favorites. Last night, however, I wanted to try something different. We sat at the Sushi Bar and I asked the waitress to bring out the daily specialty sashimi in addition to my S and S Roll. And oh boy was it fantastic. The soup, broccoli, edamame, and S and S Roll were all fantastic as usual. Then arrived the live scallop sashimi, which came in small pieces on a shell. This was absolutely fantastic. Then came Agi, which resembled Mackarel. Very light, flavorful, and delicate. It came with a fantastic dipping sauce. Similar to the scallop, this came on it’s own plate. Finally the rest of my sashimi arrived, including white tuna(great as usual), fatty tuna(absolutely amazing, very flavorful), and uni, which I was having for the first time. The uni was extremely strong yet irresistible. When I looked at the bill for the two of us, which exceeded $ 100, I wasn’t even angry. That meal was, if anything, worth more than they charged us. I gave the sushi chef a tip and left the restaurant in an excellent mood.
