Let’s start with the food it’s excellent. They have lunch special that are very reasonably priced and with plenty of options. The special go away on weekends and I believe for dinner although I have never been there for dinner. The reason for 3 stars and not 5 is simple. SERVICE!!! Most of the people there are pleasant enough but it feels like what most local small restaurant feel like. A place that caters to the regulars and that’s all good and dandy if you are a regular but if your not well let’s just say it takes a bit longer for them to notice if you have run out of water or would like to order dessert. I think they should realize that eventually they will need more regulars and if they continue to alienate new customers??? My suggestion is to enjoy the food and if you are a regular then enjoy the service if your not well enjoy the food.

My Mother’s Day was completely ruined by my experience at Basilico at 10405NW41st Street. We have always gone to the other location but since they are closed on Sundays, we decided to visit this location. Although we have always loved the food at Basilico, the service usually leaves us a bit underwhelmed because we tend to be treated as if they are doing US a favor of serving us. However, the restaurant is somewhat«redeemed» by the tasty cuisine and decent wine selection. Yesterday, there was NOTHING that could make up for the service, especially a waiter named Alex. We were seated immediately upon arrival and I noticed that the carpet was dirty with bread crumbs and other rubbish. Although they were not busy at all, it took about 10 minutes for anyone to bring us bread and water. The waiter never gave us his name, and he seemed almost«put out» by serving us. Additionally, he didn’t even say«Happy Mother’s Day» although I was obviously there with my husband and children. Throughout the meal, although we were near the bar area where all the waiters and busboys were congregated, it was near impossible to get one of them to look toward our table to ask for anything from water to napkins to more bread. Every time we wanted something, we’d have to try to get the attention of anyone whipping by our table. At one point we asked for another glass of wine and the waiter completely forgot. We saw him walk by us several times, fix chairs at the bar, greet people arriving that he seemed to be acquainted with, and still no wine. Finally, we flagged down another waiter and asked him where our wine was. I asked him what our waiter’s name was and he told me it was Alex and that they called him«the magician.» I suppose he was called the magician because he made himself disappear. The waiter walked over to Alex, who was now behind the bar, and he nonchalantly poured the wine and gave it to the other waiter to bring to us. Neither of them even apologized for the delay. The manager was also walking around and was clueless as to what was occurring. It seems they were all more attentive to talking and joking around the bar than to being attentive to the customers’ needs. None of this was as bothersome as what happened toward the end of the night. The waiter brought us the check, we reviewed it, and my husband gave his credit card. We noticed that a 20% tip was already included, which was a bit disappointing. We usually tip that or more, but in this case, we probably would NOT have tipped as generously. When the waiter returned with the receipt for signature, the new total was about $ 11 more. We pointed it out to Alex and he became very defensive and looked at us like we were lying. He even pointed out what was listed. We agreed that the items were correct but insisted that the total had changed. I asked him to get the previous bill and he said he didn’t have it. I told him to go through the trash if he had to so he could see that we weren’t lying. Sure enough, he came back with the previous receipt and it was different. It turned out he had forgotten to ring up the extra glass of wine(yes, the one he had forgotten to bring us), and it was mysteriously added to the check that we were brought to sign. We were fine with the new total but didn’t appreciate that he made us feel like liars. He gave us a half apology(he blamed it on the computer) and took the signed receipt. As we were finishing up, we noticed that Alex was walking around giving long-stemmed roses to the women at other tables. I was sure that he would eventually come up to my table and offer me a long-stemmed rose, too, but I was completely wrong. He almost seemed to make it a point to walk back and forth past our table and avoided giving me a rose. For some reason, I felt so offended that he would be so petty as to do something so unprofessional. I didn’t care about the stinkin’ rose but merely the principal of him doing something so immature and disrespectful. It seemed as if he was trying to get even with us somehow for pointing out HIS mistake. So, on top of receiving crappy service in a dirty restaurant(oh, and our forks were all warped, too), I was made to feel as if I was less than worthy of a stupid rose on Mother’s Day. Thank you so much, Basilico, for ending my Mother’s Day on a bitter note. I was extremely disappointed and will NEVER return to either of your restaurants.

Came here for lunch based on Unilocal reviews and was not disappointed! House salad came out quickly and was fresh with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The black spaghetti pasta with lobster and prawns was absolutely delicious! Flavor was just right and very light. Spaghetti bolognese was on the heavier side and a bit sweet for my taste but still good. Dessert was super rich and sweet but still glad we ordered the chocolate molten cake with vanilla ice cream on the side. The hot molten cake with the cold ice cream was a nice juxtaposition in the mouth and a great way to end the meal! Our server was not that great but thankfully there were other servers around who were able to make up for the slack and inattentiveness of our server. Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a good Italian place in Doral!

Hands down best Italian I have had in years! Homemade pastas, incredible sauces, and authentic recipes. And… Soooooo reasonable!!! I couldn’t believe the total on the bill. Would have paid 20% more for that quality! Highly recommend.

Great lunch or dinner spot. Food is consistently excellent. It’s small and usually every table is full. Nice wine selection. Fish dishes are outstanding as is the pasta.

Amazing pasta. I had the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp. This wasn’t in the menu, but the server said that he was a magician and could bring anything I wanted! Haha :) The shrimps were nice and big and flavorful and delicious. The consistency of the alfredo sauce was perfect and also delicious. I can’t wait to go back. I usually like to try different dishes, but this pasta dish was so good that I will order the same thing next time I go. –It’s a nice place for a date :)

Went with a few friends for lunch because we were at a professional development nearby. Gnocchi with gorgonzola and walnuts was excellent. Everyone pleased with the food and service, and the prices seemed very reasonable. Great Tuesday surprise for teachers who usually don’t have a whole hour for lunch!

Very good option in Doral, their pastas are outstanding. They do not have pizza though, but everything else is pretty good(fresh ravioli, linguini…). Lunch special includes soup or salad and main course. Only downside is parking which can be challenging at times.

The food is outstanding, but the service fell a little short. We had to call the waiter over a few times to ask him for things that we needed because he was too busy at the bar, either texting or talking to someone sitting at the bar. But other than our not so excellent waiter, the bus boys were very attentive. We order the prosciutto platter appetizer, French fries and mixed white and green fettuccini Alfredo pasta. Updated: the waiter never told us the specials but the party of 6 next to us, got the full service.

Delicious and filling… We had the Gnocci and Linguini De Mar for our entrée. Fried calamari and zucchini for an appetizer. It was yummy and I would love to try the Ravioli next time. =)

I had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant with my inlaws last night. Our waiter could’ve been the best waiter I have ever had serve us. Alex was extremely helpful recommended a few dishes as we aren’t from the area. he then proceeded to make a special meal for my father in law and went above and beyond to make us leave happy. I will absolutely return when in the area and strongly suggest you try them.

Recomendado 100%

*~Ravioli di Gorgonzola e Pera con Salsa di Fico~* Ravioli stuffed with gorgonzola cheese and pear with figs and marsala wine. One of the most delicious meals I have ever consumed. I was craving something sweet and was so happy that the waiter(who was equally amazing and also a magician), suggested this plate. I can’t even try to describe it bc it just wouldn’t do it justice. It was sensational. On the other hand — my sister ordered the ‘Scalopine di Vitello alla Milanese con Insalata di Rugola e Balsamico’, which is panfried veal topped with an arugula and cherry tomato salad. Unfortunately the veal was overcooked and she was unable to enjoy it. The Insalata Caprese was fresh and yummy(note to self: must try calamari next time). The service really was outstanding. Our waiter did magic tricks and kept us very entertained. I can’t wait to go back!
