Looking for a great place to eat and enjoy a nice cup of Colombian coffee? Then this is the place! I came looking just for a salad since the reviews looked really good, to my surprise I found a coffee shop gem! The menu is simple(empanadas, pastries, salads, wraps, sandwiches and pizza(yes, pizza)) yet full of colors and flavors! I had to try the coffee so I had a cappuccino with almond milk(mic drops!!) amazing!!! Wow! No words! And accompanied that with a chicken empada! Not your regular empada! It looked and tasted as if Gramda had made a guisado of chicken and baked it as an empanada! I also had the macondo salad and added chicken to it! Surprisingly good! I would’ve given 5 stars but I think it’s a bit overpriced(the coffee, salad and empanada were 20!). I order a lot, I know but I wanted to try! So next time, I’ll keep it up to just coffee and a pastry! Also, the environment is great! You can come to study here or do anything on your pc with no problem! They have comfy chairs and tables all over! :) Enjoy it

Surprisingly, Doral is full of hidden gems, and this is one of them. No hipster pretentiousness here, just good smooth coffee served any style you’d like. As the name implies, the beans are fresh roasted on site and is sold by the cup or by the bag if you’d rather make your brew at home. Beyond their coffee offerings they also have a full food menu which is also really good but I mostly come for the coffee and the great service. Prices are also very reasonable, so take a break from that stuff Seattle and give this place a try!

AMAZING. A sign of an incredible cappuccino is when I have no desire to add sugar. The cappuccino was easily one of the best I’ve ever had. Now, on to the oatmeal. While at first I thought there was a little too much milk in the homemade oatmeal, there really wasn’t, it made for almost a soup like texture. As for the fruit, they weren’t skimpy, I got a bit of fruit in each bite! This is definitely worth the $ 5!

The ambiance and the atmosphere make you feel comfortable as soon as you step in !! The quotes on the wall are great as well! Please get in this place and enjoy !!

While a bit on the pricey side(the one star difference), this coffee shop is good if you are in the area. I tried visiting a few different times over the Christmas holiday but even though the sign said they were open, they weren’t. Nevertheless, I read the reviews for the coconut coffee and wanted to make sure I stopped by and tried it as coconut is my favorite flavor. I tried the coconut cold brew which is served in a mason jar. Quite tasty. It’s a bit small for the almost $ 5 price tag. As I am moving to the area, I wanted to find a cool coffee place that I could afford to visit more than just for an indulgence. I didn’t order the food, but it seems to be priced much better than the specialty coffee. Plenty of space and you don’t feel like you’re in a Starbucks with people that have been there for days for the free refills and wifi. All in all, the price may be prohibitive for me to enjoy the coconut coffee as much as I would’ve liked to, but it is a very good place overall.

So I recently got addicted to this place, and I realized I need to relax. Lol. The coffee is super tasty, and their food is good too. They only have one breakfast option but that’s all I need anyway. The coffee is obviously their main product here, and they do have extensive menu for that. But maybe what I like more than the coffee, is the vibe in here. This is not like a traditional coffee shop with the same chairs and tables everywhere. They have a tree inside with a round table surrounding it, with maybe 6 – 7 chairs. They have sofas with a coffee table in the middle, a table with a bench as a chair, a dinner table, a hightop table, booths, and small tables with chairs. The atmosphere is super laid back. I like the music they play too. I’ve heard old r&b and pop rock songs that my parents used to listen too when they were younger, and I’ve also heard Adele songs from her new album. The coffee as I said was tasty. However, I feel that the coffee is not hot. They usually serve it to you warm. By the time I’m halfway, the coffee is cold. The first time I came here, I didn’t think that would happen every time. But I’ve been here about 4 times, and this happens every time. My bf has been here too and he agrees. But the coffee is just so good! I guess next time I’m just going to have to ask them to serve it to me really hot. The customer service here is good. Everyone seems to be in a good mood, and they are willing to help. FYI if you’re a student, show your student ID for a 20% discount!!!

Exceptional Quality Coffee Macondo Coffee Roasters has become my favorite coffee café in Miami. It has a very warm and inviting feel, which larger chains severely lack. The staff(especially Olga, Eli and Ale) is super friendly and knowledgeable of their freshly-roasted and brewed authentic Columbian coffee. It’s also a great place to have a bite to eat while catching up on emails. *I also recommend learning where the name Macondo originates… it’s a great story worth sharing.

There’s something about coffee that brings people together. Macondo is doing just that for coffee lovers in Doral. When you think about the other options in the area, we have Starbucks(hooray for seasonal coffee drinks and drive-thru), and Dunkin Donuts(thumbs up for Bavarian cream and cheap coffee). That leaves Macondo, promising quality coffee backed up by their passion for serving an exceptional product. Macondo lures you in from the warm smiles that welcome you to the large tables and sofas that make you feel as though you just walked into someone’s home in Colombia. They have some shareable tables, booths, high-tops, and just everything in between. The space is great and I especially love reading the quotes on the walls(more than I’d like to admit). What keeps me coming back is the amazing coffee and surprising lunch specials. My favorite has to be the mochaccino for when I’m in the mood for some chocolaty coffee – which is all the time. Their lunch specials are pretty fair priced and are typically served with a side salad and soup. I absolutely loved the turkey on risotto I tried several months ago. Most recently, their special included baked pork with glazed green apple sauce… delicious! And on their regular lunch menu, they have an amazing cheese steak served between homemade bread that almost resembles a calzone(thinner with a light crunch). For breakfast, I’ve found that the egg and cheese croissant is also very appetizing. Switch it out for French bread and you’ve got yourself a breakfast for two! Unless you just finished a rigorous morning workout, and the portion of this item is just right. Let’s not forget the perfectly bite-sized pandebono and tequenos. I can eat those at about ANY time of the day, as well as the torta negra(which I begged them to keep on their menu more regularly). It’s a moist dark cake, just enough sweetness to fill your afternoon. One thing I’ve yet to experience here are Macondo Nights. Their Instagram announces a night of music, wine and tapas. It sounds like an interesting transition from their day look, but I hope to soon plan a Friday evening with Macondo.

What a great coffee shop and it’s only 5 minutes from where I live! I’m always searching around Unilocal for coffee places that aren’t the same old boring siren establishment and I’m so happy that Miami has a lot of great options! Now I’ve only been here for breakfast so I can’t speak on lunch or dinner here. I ordered an iced latte with soy and an egg and cheese sandwich. The latte was great, however the sandwich was just ok. I felt like it lacked something to be completely honest. Also, even though the place was not busy at all, service was incredibly slow. This is really not the place to go if you’re in a rush. However, if you do have some time to kill the place is HUGE so it’s perfect for getting work done and not having to stress about finding a place to sit. I really think this place could easily become a five star place with just a few minor tweaks. The coffee is really worth the wait, but it would just be nice to not have to wait quite so long.

Coffee 5 Stars Food 5 stars Service 0 stars I think they didn’t think through the«we need staff to serve people» part… they are extremely slow, like veeeeeeeery slow. I come here every Saturday for breakfast and although the food is fantastic I seriously as the owners to re-think their staffing strategy to do not shy customers away. I keep coming because again, people, food here is amazing and the ambient is good . I’m too angry to keep writing …

I wouldn’t want to put any other coffee places down *cough* Starbucks *cough* but… Macondo is the cream of the crop. I’ve been here for breakfast, for lunch, and dinner and have left more than satisfied every single time. In the morning you get fresh baked goodies with their popular artisan coffee, for lunch there’s a tasty menu full of sandwiches and such, and during the night time they have wine and live music during the weekends. It’s really great. I think my favorite part is the vibe it gives out, it has such a great energy and you can never really go wrong by coming here.

Not looking for coffee but happened to see the sign as we drove by. Just had to turn around and see what was inside. Score one for signage! Pulled in. They have a parking lot. Which is excellent. The smell of coffee rushed out the door to greet us. You can smell beans and richness wafting out on the AC current. Great location inside. Kinda industrial and hip but certainly not pretentious. There are couches and a hightop tables and a few chairs. Very well laid out to allow for a casual time sipping. These guys know how to concoct a fabulous cup of cold brew! Dark, rich, flavorful but not bitter. Some ice is all you need. They roast and brew right on premises. Make sure you also check out their cold brew contraption on the wall. So cool! I need one. Got a couple of cheese fingers for the road. Think of them as a cross between an airy, puffy tequeno and a pandebono. So good. Great find. Will be back for sure to try some other things. They also sell wine for the lushes among us!

First time at Macondo’s and honestly I’m excited that there is a new lunch spot AND coffee house in Doral. Been working in Doral for over 15 years, and all the lunch spots around become repetitive. Macondo’s opened about 7 months ago, and I’ve had them booked mark for a while. Decided to give them a try for a Friday lunch. When you walk in, it’s like Wynwood meets coffee house. The décor is hipster-ish and loungy. I wasn’t sure what to order, so I surprised myself an went with the Papillote. For those who don’t know, basically they wrap the food in a parchment and bake it. They change the dish everyday. Today they had the Salmon and Quinoa, and you pick two sides: I chose vegetables and mashed potatoes. Let me tell you WOW! The salmon was seasoned and cooked to perfection! Very healthy. I really enjoyed it and was really bummed when I finished it lol. But it was enough to to satisfy the lunch craving. I also had a pastry which was Banana Zucchini bread. Not bad. Overall, I paid about $ 13 in total for everything. It’s a little more than I like to spend for lunch, but it was Friday and it was a nice treat! Definitely would come back here for lunch!

It’s not too often I make my way to Doral but for when I do, it’s nice to know I can find some stellar coffee nearby! The cold brew is delicious. It’s not too bitter so I drink it straight without any sugar added. The coffee beans are sourced from micro lots in Colombia and you can really taste the difference. Oh yeah, they also have wine and beer, making this a step above your regular coffee shop. For eats you’ll find pastries, in addition to sandwiches, salads, pizzas and more. On my last visit, I decided to try the chicken caprese sandwich. It was more of a giant empanada that required a knife and fork to eat. Not bad, but could’ve used an extra kick of basil and ended up pretty soggy. I’d probably try a mason jar salad or an empanada next time. The urban interior of this spot won me over. There’s plenty of seating ranging from booths and tables, to couches and hightops. This spot could work for all sorts of occasions including biz meetings, date nights and family dinners. I can only hope there are plans to open more locations closer to me soon!

If only this café was closer to me– it would be nice to have a change in study places. The café has some tables more suited for having lunch, as well as booths more preferential for studying. Free Wi-Fi of course. Seems like it was a decently quiet place to get work done, at least the time I was there. They serve quality coffee, as well as a variety of food, which is always a plus. I hate going to some coffee houses that only have pastries to snack on. They have wraps, sandwiches, empanadas, pizzas, and salads. Their salads are pre-made in a mason jar, but came out still super fresh because they toss it in dressing later so the lettuce doesn’t get wilted. I really liked the tropical salad that had cranberries and strawberries tossed in a passion fruit dressing. I hope I stumble into the area again so I can try their breakfast empanadas.

Someone recommended this place to me and I am so glad they did. This little hidden gem was actually in the same shopping plaza as my hair salon and I never even noticed it! What!!! Why!!! Went here for lunch with a coworker and the food was exceptional, I had the Margherita pizza and it was amazing! Décor is super cute, has got character. My coworker had a Mochaccino coffee and she said it was to die for. I’m going to head there tomorrow morning and have my own coffee and breakfast can’t wait!

This is an amazing place, and certainly a huge score for Doral. This coffee house, if the name Macondo didn’t give it away, specializes in Colombian beans, more specifically, coffee beans from small growers in the region of Antioquia, Colombia. I was lucky enough to stop by when one of their roasters was present. He happened to be helping behind the counter, and he was the one that came to help me. Coincidence? Absolutely. He informed me of where the coffee was coming from, how it was made, the types of beans, the nuances of the roasts, the provenance, etc. Listening to him actually got me excited about this whole new Macondo world that was taking shape here in Doral, and many questions started brewing in my head. «Good Colombian coffee? In Miami? Is this possible? Like real good coffee, not the one dimensional supermarket brand?» I was dying to taste this. My eyes were moving at a hundred miles per hour, and I was reciting my coffee mantra silently(you can use it too when you are looking for good coffee). It goes as follows, *The keys to good coffee are 1) Coffee has description(nuances like caramel, molasses, pears, bold, bright, etc), 2) Coffee is ground in front of you, and 3) Coffee is brewed paying attention to water temperature and coffee ratios*. If my mantra matches what the coffee house is doing, then I know there’s good coffee on the premises. It all boils down to whether I like it or not. By the way, that is exactly what they do here. Drinking coffee at Macondo is a real pleasure for me. I used to hate coffee, true story, but then I started buying better whole beans, grinding at home, and dripping carefully. Today, I am a coffee snob. I would rather not drink coffee than to have a lame cup of Joe. I don’t compromise. If you know me personally, you know I don’t mess around and that I am one with my taste buds. OM. Anyway, back to Macondo. This is a very spacious coffee house, with lots of tables that lean on the rustic side of things. There are booths that go around and a couple of couches that are extremely comfortable. The playlist is heavy on 80’s retro, not cumbias or vallenato. Overall, this is a pretty chill place to come and relax. Macondo serves regular drip coffee, french press, aero press, as well as espresso drinks and cold brew coffee. They also have some snacks here, as well as pizza and ice cream. The food is pretty good and straightforward. And yet, we are not done with Macondo. This place also has live music, you have to check their schedule for that, and I recently saw they hosted a few writers to come talk about their books. With this in mind, what else can you ask? Coffee, food, art and culture, Macondo is a real community on it’s way to becoming a heavy hitter in this neck of the woods. If Macondo would offer more types of beans, instead of light, medium and dark, I would for sure give them the full amount of stars. It is an excellent coffee shop without a doubt, but they just fall a tiny bit short of the best. Still, I love this place and I see lots of success in the Magic City. Oh! I almost forgot. The coffee here is very bright, and depending on the roast, it may punch you in the mouth, or tease you. It is an incredibly good cup of coffee, and you will absolutely love coming here.

When i hear the word Macondo, immediately two literary styles come to my mind: Magical Realism and the«McOndo» movement. Now, translate this to the coffee world and voila, here we are. Macondo opened its doors in a particular moment where the«McOndo» coffee stores(aka:”*$‘s”) had sequestered Doral, leaving us, arguably, without options to enjoy a good cup of great coffee in a cozy and honest environment. Well, not any more. This place entices the noble side of Magical Realism at its best, with the difference that it is not fictional literature anymore, but real and tangible, poised to thrive in this industrial/warehouse area of Doral. Here lies a great concept well executed. When you enter, what you see is kind of an unfinished, rustic, lively place with several spaces where to be. The design is like a mix and match furniture selection, casually arranged in a way that transports you to a different world, a mix between a coffee grounding shop and a country state«Finca». Each space appears to fit different purposes, for example; there are some traditional eating tables, a couple of large spaces some of them with booths or with chairs that could be more adept to study, a comfy open living room area and some bar style spaces. There is also a coffee ground machine, and several other well selected details carefully placed to give this magical touch. Result: a great place to enjoy a good conversation with some friends, to work or to relax for a bit. Even though the main protagonist is the high quality coffee they bring from Colombia(with signature cold brews, hand pressed brews, etc.), food definitively competes for a role here. So long, I have tried the pizzas, salads, and a daily special. Options not over elaborated, but delicious for sure. At the end, i must confess, my real addiction here is the Caribbean cold brew, topped with a friendly service hosted by all the staff and owners, that makes you feel very welcome. Finally, i must say that the location is great. Strategically placed in one of the few strip malls that have plenty parking spaces and accessibility entrances from NW25th ave and 89th pl., allows you to arrive here relatively easy no matter the hour of the day. The opening hours are fantastic, they open 7 days a week conveniently from early morning to late afternoon/evening. So, now you know: The Macondo vs «McOndo» fight is here, and so far Macondo is winning, hopefully staying solid for the next hundred years, and not exactly in solitude but in good company.

Excelente…
