It is still a mystery to me how much the dishes here cost. There’s a wall that shows pictures of menu items, but not prices. I came with a party of 7 and we ended up paying $ 12 each for 9 dishes. Service is pretty slow. After we finished our first round of dishes, we decided to add an order of chicken feet. This single order took ~20 min to come out. Food-wise, this place is okay for dim sum. My favorite was the spare ribs because they came with taro cubes. I also really liked the fried turnip cakes. The soup dumplings didn’t really have much soup in them and the skin was a little tough. The meat fillings for the soup dumplings and the shumai were also lacking flavor. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed because they don’t have rice noodle with fried dough, my all-time favorite dim sum dish. I’ve never been to a dim sum place that has not served this dish.

Dim sum don’t. Rubbery and small and flavorless things they pull out of the freezer I’m certain. Expensive too. Wifi is good. They forget to offer water or beverages. Lots of unsightly gear(ladders and buckets and such) spilling out from the kitchen area into the dining area. The menu has like 1000 items, which is probably why nothing was fresh. Wall is covered with inkjet printed 8.5×11 photos of bizarre seafood dishes. Maybe they should rebrand themselves and narrow their focus. It’s not dim sum heaven.

Grabbed some dinner with friends after a nice hike. The overall experience of this place(atmosphere, food, service) lands just at average. The only items I really liked were the fried lotus(crunchy and tasteful) and fish(spicy and tender). The Fujianese noodle dish was okay as it was noodles with peanut sauce. The noodles were a little starchy imo, and I love noodles to death. The tofu with shrimp atop was pretty good. The clams and short ribs(?) weren’t on anyone’s fav list as we shared which dishes we didn’t favored. Service was eh as our waters were left empty. A friend said this place was really good, but I didn’t take a liking to this place. Parking was pretty plentiful since Dim Sum Heaven is in the complex with Bo Bo Garden, Honey Bits, Dollar Tree.

Dim Sum heaven is located in the same plaza as Chef Liu, Bo bo garden, honeybits. My friends and I came here for dinner around 7pm on a Sunday and the place was about half filled. We were seated immediately and served tea. Since we had a group of 6, we did family style and ordered fried spareribs with taro, lotus root stir fry, spicy boiled fish fillet, black bean clams, shrimp tofu, peanut noodles(dim sum order). These are not the exact names of the dishes, but it’s basically what the dishes are. We enjoyed: spareribs, spicy fish fillet, and peanut noodles. The spareribs were fried, but what’s different about this dish is that they also have taro, which is a good combination with the meat. The fish was not too spicy, but tender and flavorful. The peanut noodles were recommended by my Fujianese friend who says this is a traditional dish we need to try. It’s a small plate of noodles($ 3) with just noodles and peanut sauce that you mix in. The lotus root stir fry OK, but nothing too special. Similarly, the shrimp tofu was just a shrimp ball on top of soft tofu with some soy sauce, OK but not great. Our least favorite dish would have to be the clams, they clams weren’t fresh(although the staff did warn us that they used frozen but said that they would be good). The food here is A-OK. Our service was actually decent(for a Chinese restaurant) and the bill came out to be around $ 11 per person which is really reasonable.

For a restaurant named Dim Sum Heaven their dim sum’s menu were very limited and even then, some of their items were out when it’s time for me to order. The atmosphere is like any other hole in the wall Chinese restaurants, don’t expect much services here if you are not Chinese. But I’m on a quest to try out all Atlanta’s dim sum places so I’m determined to try out their food: — Chicken feet tasted sour and horrible — Shrimp dumplings and all others xiu mai tasted like they were microwaved — Fried rice was decent 3* for services 2* for food

Very very interesting. I had never dim summed before and went in knowing nothing. I didn’t ask for help but was also not offered any. The GF got the general two’s and it was a bit lacking in the meat department. I tried a few different things none of which were super impressive, but I also don’t know want they were supposed to be like. 4 stars because I really like dumplings in general.

Arrived in the afternoon and drove here for a quick bite to eat with a coworker. Maybe it was because we were hungry, but this place was so good. We ordered the xiaolongbao, Chinese broccoli, egg and tomato stir fry, shrimp dumplings, and some rice. Everything came out hot and steamy and we gobbled everything up. Total for the both of us after tip was only $ 30. Definitely worth it!

We came to Canton House down the road and that place was packed. We did not want to wait after a long road trip and we decided to stop by Dim Sum Heaven. It wasn’t busy around 2PM and we were worried a little bit after sitting down. The service was little bit slow and we did not see anyone pushing carts around like many other places. The owner came and greeted us, then we ordered some dim sum items from the menu. They were surprising good. After eating there for half an hour, we saw more Chinese folks walking in and the place was packed around 3PM. The price was reasonable and we will return if we stop by Atlanta again.

We ordered the the roast pork belly and stir fried Chinese broccoli along with some steamed dumplings and fried rice. We liked everything we order. Will definitely return when we come back to town. Service was good as well. We ordered a number of additional dishes and the waitstaff was receptive and checked in on us frequently.

This place is wonderful! When you first sit down the owners greet you, and bring you tea! We ordered several different kinds of dim sum, spring rolls, and egg drop soup. Everything tasted amazing! I would recommend the roasted pork bun, or the shrimp dumplings! The service is great! Everyone was very polite and attentive to us during our stay. The food is extremely well priced! We were happily surprised by how inexpensive our bill was.

So the thing about«Dim Sum Heaven» is that, despite its name, you should definitely NOT order the Dim Sum. I was alerted to this very non-descript place by my parents, who raved about the seafood here. Each time we cam here, we’ve ordered giant live oysters that were steamed and topped off with black bean sauce. Not sure if this is on the official menu, but the diners there all seemed to know about this. I hear they also routinely ship over exotic seafood from NY that you typically don’t find in Atlanta(e.g., mantis shrimp). All of this of course won’t be on the English menu or any printed menu.

Wrong name for this place should be called some dim sum Lol. Not a big variety of dim sum and service was lacking. Will not go back

Just ok for authentic Chinese food. The name was slightly confusing as I walked in anticipating traditional dim sum but the selection was somewhat limited and I didn’t see anyone pushing the carts around with fresh dim sum. I ended up ordering a hot pot with chicken and vermicelli, which was delicious.

Service was off. I sat and nobody looked over for a good while, give or take 5,6 min… all I needed was TOORDER water and food. Dim sum not a lot of options. I am still craving the experience. Will try other place next week

Every time I come to Georgia, I have to come here for the ox tail rice noodle soup, it’s just amazing! Don’t forget to put in some rice wine! My trip won’t be complete without this. Must try!

Food is good however the lack of dim sum variety is why I rated it 3 stars. Was really hoping for more dim sum judging by the name. Definitely authentic Chinese food.

Love this restaurant! Never have I had such authentic shi zi tou outside of Nanjing! The shi zi tou meatball melts in your mouth, truly fantastic! I also highly recommend their mapo tofu and chicken feet! Very delicious! The service is always courteous and I always genuinely enjoy coming here.

Service was prompt waiter spoke English and it was easy to order and pay. The place had a few customers. The smell from the kitchen was fabulous. We ordered sweet and sour chicken, mandarin chicken, shanghai pork soup dumplings and vegetable low mein. Every dish was excellent. Even the side dish of fried rice was good. The best sweet and sour I have ever had. Each dish was fresh and perfectly seasoned. Prices are very affordable. The bill was like $ 21.00 bucks for lunch 3 people. The décor is old the outside of the building is old but the food… will be going back very soon.

THE.BEST.CHINESE.FOOD.I’VEEVERHAD. I dont understand why it has so many bad reviews here on Unilocal. This makes me think that my visit was nothing but a fluke. I ordered an egg drop soup and the lunch special of spicy garlic chicken that comes with white rice. All under 8 bucks — the service was fast and THEFOODWASLOVELY … Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and just pure happiness. I wish I can come up with something poetic right now, but all ine all, this should sum it up: the best chinese food I have ever had. I am yet to come back several times to verify this experience to eliminate the chance that my visit was just a fluke, but in the mean time, I highly recommend.

One star on Unilocal means, «Eek! Methinks not.» That’s exactly how I feel about Dim Sum Heaven. However, since the food did not kill me and it wasn’t completely atrocious, I’m giving Dim Sum Heaven 1.5 stars, rounded up to 2. Like Seth V. touched upon in his review, this is more like Dim Sum Hell. Dim Sum Heaven is located in the Pinetree Plaza shopping center on Buford Highway(same shopping center as Bo Bo Garden, Thien Thanh, and Chef Liu). The front of the restaurant has pictures of many non-dim sum entrees you can order and the menu itself has many more traditional Chinese(Fuzhounese) entrée dishes than dim sum selections. The restaurant’s dim sum selection is located at the bottom of the last page of their small foldable paper menu. There are maybe 25 or so dim sum items. If you tell the server you are ordering dim sum, they will also provide you with an 8.5×11 picture menu of many of the dim sum offerings. That’s helpful. I tried the following: House special Ho Fun soup Turnip cake Pork shumai — dumpings Taro pie «Glutinous rice» shumai — dumplings Cha siu baau — steamed BBQ pork buns Spare ribs Most of the items were $ 2.50 each, including the soup. The house special Ho Fun soup was decent. It contained soft white noodles, miniature whole shrimp, and Chinese mushrooms. Simple to make and it hit the spot. The turnip(«white radish» on their menu) cake was good — standard for dim sum places here. The pork shumai did not seem very fresh and the pieces were slightly bigger than I’m accustomed to. The taro pie was was like the pie form of the traditional dim sum taro dumplings(the pieces with the fluffy, flaky exterior). I like the«original» version better. The spare ribs came with plenty of black beans, but was too boney. We didn’t even order the«gluntinous rice» shumai and the cha siu baau. I told the server I wanted the seafood chive dumplings, but he told me they didn’t have those, so we could substitute the seafood with pork. The result was not a pork chive dumpling, but cha siu baau(steamed BBQ pork buns)! I like cha siu baau, so I ate it anyway. It tasted like it’d been frozen and reheated. The«gluntinous rice» shumai is the exact same thing as the pork shumai, except with small clumps of white rice on top. The server also gave us two egg custards, which we sent back because we didn’t order them. I’m also pretty sure one of the employees from the kitchen went to the Oriental Bakery next door and grabbed either two of their egg custards or sesame balls to be reheated and served over here. In summary, both the food quality and service at this place were not so good. It’s too bad because I want these places to do better and succeed. The restaurant is split level, has fresh seafood(tilapia, eel, turtles) in aquariums by the window, and a few flat panel TVs for your viewing pleasure. Plenty of parking.
