We were looking for an AYCE Korean restaurant while in the Buford HWY area of Atlanta. While we were with someone from Atlanta they didn’t know where would be a good place for AYCE. We stumbled across JunJoo House and decided to give it a go. Since we wanted a BBQ table for AYCE they put us in a party room with two large BBQ tables. Nice room, private(although we couldn’t people watch, lol since we were secluded) We noticed that they had AYCE pork belly and sliced ribeye for $ 14.99/person. The guys(2) decided to get this while the gals(2) ordered up a cold noodle dish, grilled whole fish and a dried cabbage soup. Overall the food was a bit disappointing Ban Chan was ok — nothing to call home about. The wife loves fish — so she enjoyed that dish but noted the soup lacked flavor and the cold noodles were acceptable. The real let down was the AYCE pork belly and ribeye. They must not go thorugh much, as the meat they brought us was frozen. I’m used to fresh(or at least thawed) and marinated meat at the AYCE Korean BBQ’s I’ve been to, so this was a real let down. The meat took forever to cook and there was no flavor at all. Sure you could wrap it in lettuce and dip it in ssamjang, but that’s not the point. We had to ask for rice — really? We were a table of(4) with three Asians(2 Koreans and a Vietnamese) and you don’t bring us rice? Anyway I’d look elsewhere as there has to be better places in the Atlanta area — if this was in the middle of Nebraska maybe it would be acceptable, but not in Atlanta.
