I went for the first time last week and can say I’m a fan. Similar to Ba Le, but it definitely carried a different atmosphere. The staff members were so kind and attentive. I loved that it’s a place where you can get a quick Vietnamese dish in the early AM without waiting around, esp. for people like me who’s always on the go. My dish was a traditional rice plate with two eggs and it was great! The only reason I’m giving King Do 4 stars is because I haven’t gone enough to try everything else out yet.

It’s like Ba Le but bigger and they serve restaurant food too Vietnamese cuisine like phở and rice plate etc. I only come here for the hot food bar and their banh canh. Which is amazing btw. The lady’s that work here are super friendly but their English is very limited. I’m Vietnamese too but my viet is terrible so I usually just point out the stuff I like. They don’t have as much stuff as Ba Le, but i don’t mind it. It’s still a great place to go and grab a quick lunch.

Get your café sua, com noung, breakfast triangle in a banana leaf, fried rice and pork, tofu, Phở, suffer cane juice, lotto tickets, bahn Mi, medicated oil & unguents, sticky rice treats, bubble tea, hot bar take out mélange etc etc… It’s counter service and mostly take out but there are tables to eat at, a functional bathroom to wash your hands in, and chilled drinks in the cooler. You can grab and go for quick fix or order specialty items(piles of boxed lunches going out the door here) and wait. Not the best café sua I’ve ever had but it’ll do. The ladies are friendly and cheerful and are patient with the fact I’m not real sure about everything I see on the menu, don’t speak very understandable Vietnamese but want to know everything in the hot bar and are perfectly happy to confirm that yes, that is a quail egg in my warm, meat filled, banana leaf wrapped breakfast triangle. Perfect.

I always go here whenever I have the chance to hit Dorchester. I always order com soung(not sure if I spelled this right, forgive me if I don’t) it comes with soup, the meat is really tender and juicy. Once you take a bit nothing was the same anymore. It’s just really good and you gotta take my word for it. The design is really casual so don’t even bother dressing up

I love this place. I started coming here just to get vietnamese coffee. One day I asked them what they had for food, I was running late and didn’t make breakfast at home. I still to this day don’t know the name of the dish, but it’s the one in the picture, pork, rice, 2 eggs, salad and soup. Actually I don’t know what the cost is either but think it’s pretty reasonable like $ 9 maybe. Either way I love it, and the women that work there,(even though none of them speak English that well lol) are so nice. They treat me so good, as soon as I go in they give me my coffee and ask me if I want breakfast as well. I am a big fan of King Do, thank you for treating me so nice. Michael
