My family and I have been ordering from here for years. The people are always really nice every time you call. The delivery can be a little slow sometimes, but it’s understandable they’re really busy because everytime I call the phones are ringing off the hook. Best Chinese restaurant around. Love the chicken wings and crab rang goon. Very loyal to magic wok!

The food is not that bad at all. It leaves you full and wanting more. One of my specialties is the Seafood Delight in white sauce. Yummy!!! People make it what it’s not!!! I enjoy eating here… no regrets.

I love the food and the food is not that expensive too. If you go to other places it would taste the same but more expensive. This place is great!

I stopped in just before they were closing and ordered a shrimp appetizer. I will never ever go to this place again. The batter was hard as a rock and they weren’t even hot, believe me when I tell you it was awful. I do know where all these good reviews come from because I didn’t see it. It was the worst order of shrimp I ever had. Do yourself a favor and don’t go in this place.

Its not no fine quality chinese food, but its fast, and cheap. Not many chinese food chains add celery and onions into their crab ragoons so that was a radty change. They even have soecials less than 5 $!

Delivery is where the hate is at, order pick up for less stress. One of the best Chinese fast food in Dorchester. Chicken wing is crispy outside and juicy inside. Beef with string bean seem a little dark, need to ease off on the dark soy sauce a bit. At least it is not as dark as yum yum, which every one in Dorchester know it’s worst and it has closed down. Tips: Pick up is the best way to go cause the food will be hotter and crispy vs soggy. Always double check the sauce so you know that it’s there.

This place has the best crab Rangoon and chicken wings I’ve ever tasted from a small restaurant, the fried rice however I do not recommend.

It was a rainy Saturday afternoon and I was craving for«greasy Chinese food» consist of pork fried rice, crab rangoons and general gaus, so my husband suggested Magic Wok. I’ve honestly never had Magic wok within my 20+ years of living in Dorchester. But my husband has, so what the heck! I’ve ordered what I wanted and we also ordered House Lo Mein and large side of chicken wings for Delivery. The delivery guy arrived about 30– 45 minutes later. Which to me is great timing. I really liked how the set up was for my combo plate. They seperated my general gaus from my fried rice and crab rangoons by packing the chicken in a paper bowl. I’m pretty anal when«wet» food touches my «dry food» if you know what I mean! The general gaus tasted sweet and still had a little crunch to it(it didn’t taste like orange chicken nor sweet and sour chicken like all the other Chinese take outs that I’ve tried). The crab rangoons tasted really good as well, it didn’t taste plain nor did it taste«fishy» and as greasy, though I wish I had order an extra side of it. The pork fried rice however, tasted really plain. If it wasn’t for the pork spareribs chunks in there, I don’t think I would be able to know that it’s even pork fried rice!!! My husband really liked the house Lo Mein, it has a dark colored to it and my father, who is super picky, liked it as well. The large chicken wings was HUGE! My father, husband and I could not finished the large it’s good, not AS greasy like you’d think but it’s tasty. But I think next time we will order a small. All and all, I would’ve given them a 5 star, but the pork fried rice was bleh.

Let me be honest here, when I first went to Magic Wok I had very low expectations but other Unilocalers’ reviews encouraged me to try them out. My friends and I were looking for cheap late night eats after a night of bowling(My friend, Tevin, finished choking on the final frame). We walk in and notice they have some affordable«mini-platters» for $ 4.50. That paper sign took away from the rest of the restaurant and it’s not a bad thing seeing as this restaurant is fairly plain. My friends ordered orange chicken. The food comes to us well packed and we go to my house to eat. I open my mini platter(Pork fried rice, crab ragoon and chicken fingers), it looks good, it smells good and I take a bite and low and behold it’s above average. It’s not greasy like other Chinese food places in the area and the restaurant claims to be MSG free. The chicken fingers are crispy, hot and well cooked. The crab ragoons were crispy but about average. The rice was better than any other Chinese fried rice that I had in awhile. The price to quality ratio is excellent while the service was very good as well. The orange chicken was pretty good too. For what this place strives to be, it does an excellent job at it. It’s cheap, good portioned and, for what I have tried, quality Chinese food place. I will leave it at 4 stars until I try more of the menu and Magic Wok has ensured I will return especially at this price point.

Cash only! We’ve ordered Chinese here quite a few times and have never had any major complaints. They have a delicious vegetable lo mein and the crab rangoon is nothing like I’ve ever tasted… I love it! The shrimp rice is OK, nothing special. Scallion pancakes could have been better, every time I’ve had them here they are never crunchy, which is how I like them. I’ve never stayed to eat inside but there are tables and chairs.

Because of the recommendation of my fellow Unilocalers, I decided to try delivery of this place. Had a date, wanted to impress her with some delicious Chinese, needed something that would not disappoint. I turn to my trusty Unilocalers, one of whom is a personal friend. Simply put: this was some of the worst Chinese mess I’ve ever eaten. Couldn’t finish it after about 4 bites. Just closed the box and noticed my date had also closed her box. I apologized to her, offered to order something else from somewhere else, but she was all set. Didn’t bother to call(why? this is when they pretend to not understand or only speak Mandarin), threw it all away, and chalked it all up to «never again».

For what it is, Magic Wok is… fine. That’s about the extent of my praise for the place. They’re just fine. The chicken wings are delicious, but the egg drop soup is so bland that it pretty much tastes like water. I actually had to put salt in it. Of course, the smart thing to do would have been to just not finish it, but I like to eat the food I’ve paid for. All the other food that my roommates and I have tried there has been average, cheap Chinese food. Nothing special, but good enough if you want some late night Chinese and you live nearby.

I’ve been eating at this place for over 10 years. I love that they stay open until 1am on the weekends. The food is always good(sometimes all you need is grease in your life) and the service is decent. Parking on Dot Ave can be tight sometimes, so it’s best to park in the shopping plaza lot and walk across the street. I usually order delivery and there is no delivery minimum! As my fellow Unilocalers already mentioned, it is a cash only establishment.

I come here for Crab Rangoon; Idk about the rest of the menu. I’ve been eating crab rangoon here since I was a toddler but I never had the rest of the food but who needs other food when you got crab rangoon(Filling: Cream cheese, crab meat, diced onions, and diced celery(best part of it). yeahhhhh soo this review was just on the crab rangoon. Skipping to the service they seem okay not rude, but they could work on their english a little bit. I never eat in I always order for pick up so I don’t really know the other customers or how the place really is.

Food is great service is friendly and prompt. Does take about 30 – 40 minutes for delivery, even in the neighborhood but by and far the best Chinese food takeout in the area. You have to get the popcorn chicken. It’s amazing.
