We’ve been eating at McAlister’s chain restaurants for nearly 20-years. In fact, after the birth of each of our daughters, this was the sandwich my wife craved in the hospital. But they are pricing themselves out for us. $ 8 for a sandwich? My daughter ordered the kids nachos. The order came with 8 — 8! — tortilla chips. I asked the server to bring more, he came back telling us it would cost $ 1 for more chips. I asked to see the manager, who did bring more chips after I complained, but said it was company policy to charge $ 1 for more tortilla chips. For a pricey meal, that’s a chintzy policy. Not sure we’ll be back.

Had the chicken tortilla soup… just enough heat with some Tabasco added Also had the New York. Huge sandwich No deli vibe. Lunch rush had one cashier and don’t be in a hurry for refills

Food was good, reminds me of panera but with less healthy options. The peach sweet tea is really good.

Multiple visits, multiple disappointments. This restaurant has a leadership deficit! Clearly there are democrats in management as they are obviously supporting the entitlement generation. Someone should educate the employees. The majority of the population has discovered that it is possible stay at home and collect welfare. Some of us have things to do…

I am always overly satisfied when I eat here. The spuds are the best intown(pot roast, and spud max.!) are my favorite.

The bread on my sandwich was soggy and the sandwich was really messy. It tasted good but it could have been better. The tomato soup was good but I couldn’t tell if it was homemade. Not sure if I’d eat there again if there were other options. We were just passing through the town.

After reading the reviews ive decided to try this place but not the sandwiches so i optd for the ultimate nachos which were amazing! The only thing i wouldve done different was get more cheese n beef sauce to pour over as they do give you alot of chips which is nice. No complaints it was delicious!

The best deli type restaurant in this area. I’ve tried salads, sandwiches and everything is good. Good iced tea! Service is pretty good too

Really mediocre food, I have given it a few chances now and there are many places to eat that are far better. The sandwiches I have had are on par with school cafeteria food. The meat tastes like flavored rubber, the vegetables are not fresh and nothing seems homeade. On the plus side, it’s not expensive, the tea is good, the environment is ok and if you just need food it will do the job. In general stay away, try Atlanta Bread co. Or Red Elephant instead.

The best food this area has to offer. Great variety of sandwiches, and salads. Sweet tea is off the chain. I’m from NYC, so I know about sandwiches, and this place is very close to it. The only bad thing I have to say about this place, is the staff. They’re very nice, but they are very, very dumb. Never gets the order right, never understands what I want, etc…

I’m all about a place that doesn’t serve fried food and went there based on the other reviews. I wish I had gotten a salad or soup because the sandwich I had was soaked in some combination of oil/grease/butter and might as well have been fried. They had similar options and marketing material to someplace like an Atl Bread co, but the execution just wasn’t there. I was happy to see options and flavors that aren’t typically served in the Dothan area(peach chipotle sounded awesome but neither flavor quite came through). I guess I’d go back and give a non-sandwich a go. Side notes: Take out also took a while and I think I would call ahead if I did that again. There were three complaints while I was waiting for my order — two having to do with food gone bad — and although the food was bad, the manager was very good at her job and handling the situations.

Based on the available options around Dothan, McAlister’s is one of the best lunch options. McAlister’s has good soup and sandwiches are made fresh. Most importantly the food isn’t deep fried. They also have good sweet tea. At any other place, this is a 2 – 3 star deli. At D-town, this is a 4 – 5 star joint.

An ok lunch spot. Nothing great, but there’s a variety of sandwich and salad options for those who are trying very hard to avoid fried food.
