Smokey Joe’s Bar B Que

Hamburger was the texture of beef jerky. Ribs were over steamed. Barbecue sauce was basically dark corn syrup. They did have good soda though.

Must have caught them on a bad night. Service was slow, barbecue and stew was cold and fries were not cooked.

I’ve had take out Brunswick stew but it’s by far the best in Dothan. The ribs are fantastic too!

Extremely slow service and ticket time on getting food. Stood at front counter for 5 min before someone told me I can seat myself and order. Food was pretty dang good though.

This place is beyond awesome!!! Food is outstanding!! well worth the price that we paid for it! The best I’ve had was the BBQ plate with corn nuggets! Absolutely the best! Will be stopping by more often. Good thing is I live close by lol

Good bbq. Solid bang for your buck. The loaded breadsticks and salads are worth a try too. I call this feel good food because it isn’t world class but makes you feel at home.

Such a disappointment!!! I wish I could give a negative star review. The sauce was awful and the ribs were tasteless. The corn nuggets and fried okra was fine but really not worth the terrible food. The smoked burger was dry and hard. Terrible and disappointing!!!

3÷24÷2015, 2:30pm. Pleasant casual, no-​smoking atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent service. I had the Jumbo pulled pork sandwich with fries, coleslaw, and sweet tea. I also carried-​out a pint of Brunswick stew. Bbq was delicious…(tender but not mushy like some.) Coleslaw was really good… obviously not some standard bulk style, and that is IMPORTANT to me. Fries were standard fare, but also good as far as «cut» and «style.» The Brunswick stew was also very good, it could have had a bit more meat, but that may have just been my serving. The 4 sauces are excellent… you must try them all! My favorite was the mustard/​vinegar. Sweet tea was just right for me. Moderately priced, $ 18.xx for my meal and stew, and well worth it.
Smokey Joe’s is a great place for bbq, and I hear good things about the other menu items too. Probably the BEST that I have had in Alabama, and believe me, I have eaten a lot of bbq. (I admittedly have a bias for Carolina style bbq, and as such, am very critical.)
I absolutely will be going back… I hope regularly. The server said that all menu items are available for carry-​out, that too is important. Again, another shout-​out to the friendly server. 4 and ½ stars!

Great BBQ. Very large portions and good sauce too. Have eaten here several times and will always come back for more. Get ya some! Oink Oink!

Disappointing. Ribs were mushy. Pulled pork was dry and flavor less. Stay away from the sweet BBQ sauce unless you are a fan of corn syrup. Do not order the fried Pickles. Overall we kind of wished we would have tried the BBQ Shack across the street.

Very good BBQ in Dothan. Great meat, great sides. would definately cone in a again.

Bbq sandwich is tasty, but it’s the pizza that is really delicious.
