Willie’s Place

The staff was super nice and it was very friendly environment. The food was delicious. We got Cuban sandwiches with rice and beans and sweet plantains to start. All very wonderful and only $ 18! Would definitely recommend!

Big relief to find this tasty café in the Dothan airport. Prices were reasonable, nice portions and service was very friendly to boot. Pork on the Cuban sandwich was nice and tender. Rice and beans hit the spot as a substitute for fries.

One of a kind place. Hole in the wall. But Willie can slap some Puerto Rican food on you that is just… plain…AMAZING. Order the special. Whatever it is. And then just enjoy. Especially on Wednesdays when Willie makes a plantain/​beef casserole that is the best thing you have never tried. Oh, and don’t forget to douse everything with a generous dose of Willie’s homemade sauce. It’s worth the trip all by itself. One of my favorite lunch places!

Willies is a great hole in the wall. Authentic Puerto Rican fare made with love. The hot roast pork is amazing. Throw some rice and beans with willies sauce and you are in for a treat.

It felt a lot like Dominican food, which is close enough to Puerto Rico I guess. I got a lunch special with was basically some roast pork, beans and rice, and a little salad. $ 7 for a god awful amount of food. Probably one of the best lunch deals in town. My husband got a roast pork sandwich and he was also very happy. There was a condiment on the table that was like a tangy ranch, but none of the food needed it. Everything stood perfectly on its own. The cook was really nice. He’s loud, sweet, and seemed right at home sparking up conversation with all the patrons while not making food. The whole experience was great.

This place is legit! Amazing hole in the wall. Appetizers are $ 2. We had tostones (fried flattened plantains) and sweet plantains. My husband had the Cuban sandwich with Puerto Rican rice and I had the triple meal sandwich with fries. Both were some of the best sandwiches we have ever had. Great bread. And the willies sauce is so good it is worth buying a bottle on your way out the door ($ 5). This will be a place we stop at every time we are in Dothan!

I’ve been looking for food like this since I left Florida! Finally found it! Had pollo al ajillo and beans and rice with salad. Couldn’t be happier. Super friendly service as well. Espero que todos vayan a probar la comida deliciosa y a disfrutar de la buena compañía.

I was thoroughly disappointed with my experience at this establishment. For starters I had to wait more than thirty minutes for two sandwiches, and I was the only person there waiting. The ONLY reason I tried this restaurant out was because I had acquired a coupon off of
for $ 10 off $ 15. When I proceeded to give Willie the coupon he told me that he could not accept it because he would not make any money off of it. That infuriated me. He could have had a recurring customer while taking a $ 10 hit in the beginning. Who knows I could’ve came back and spent $ 10 a week which adds up to over $ 480 a year if he would’ve put me, the customer first and like a said taken a $ 10 hit. I will never come back here and I will tell anyone who is interested to not waste their money, it would be better spent at McDonald’s. Needless to say this was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Unfortunately I cannot give a 0 star rating, however I would if possible.

Willie’s Place was outstanding. A percent touch to a random day. This Resturant will one day make millions. Keep up the great work Willie.

I ate so much I could not walk!

I’m glad I was able to find a good Caribbean spot. Ive been getting a little bit of everything an my plate and so far it has all been pretty good. The chicken and rice has been my favorite so far.

Nice little sandwich shop in Dothan area. I ordered the Cubano sandwich. Pork was slow roasted and tender, but it wasn’t seasoned like cuban pork sandwiches I’ve had in Tampa and south Florida. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. This is a nice place if you want to decent sandwich different from what you get at a fast food place. I really need to try some of the other menu items to see what they can do. My co-​worker loves this place.
