Tried this place for the first time last night. The service was certainly friendly enough, and the prices are noteworthy– a large pizza with the same toppings I usually get at my hometown pizza shop was about $ 3 less. Unfortunately, it was just barely edible. The crust is so thin it’s nearly nonexistent, the sauce is nothing but sweet and basically tasted like liquefied sugar with a little tomato paste thrown in, and the whole thing was so greasy I couldn’t pick up a slice without it totally falling apart. I’m not sure how the other food is, but if the pizza is any indication, I would steer clear of this place at all costs.

I’m not a huge fan of their pizza, but I know others who love it. Their subs are delicious and my husband loves their gyros. Service is exceptionally fast. And always very friendly.

Strafford House is our go-to place for subs and chicken fingers for the kids. I also love getting the house salad with Parmesan cheese and adding cut up chicken fingers on top. The chicken Parmesan subs are delicious and the steak and cheese subs are the best around. Don’t forget to top it all off with a piece of backlava.

I live very close to this place, so it’s incredibly convenient for me to swing in for a sandwich or pizza. It’s usually mobbed, which is always a good sign, in my opinion! Food is exactly what you would expect of a small-town pizza joint. Great subs, too. My fave is the cheeseburger sub, but everything I’ve had has been great. Nothing about their food is remarkable, but that’s not why you go there. You go for comfort food, for something simple and familiar. Very quick service, although many times I get delivery. They are fast to deliver and food is always piping hot when it arrives. Great prices, too. Their subs are huge(in my opinion) especially for the price.

I have never actually been in the restaurant but their pizza is awful! I have pretty high pizza standards, but this place is really close to my house and I really wanted to like them. Tried it twice, was bad both times. The crust is flaky and buttery, the sauce tastes like burned tomato paste, and the cheese is not good. Dover isn’t much of a pizza town, but steer clear of here.

Excellent pizza and burgers outside of New York and for me as a native New Yorker this is saying a lot! Decent food, not to pricey and friendly staff. The place is clean, bright and open in concept. I’d recommend this place for a late night snack or dinner!

We were only able to try the Italian due to time constraints and the need to split the sub to avoid left overs, but it was a darn good Italian. We had it toasted, too. It was toasted perfectly. The toppings were not too few or too many. It was, actually, a perfect sub. We would go back, in a heartbeat, to try the pizza.

Thank god for Strafford House! My husband would have probably starved by now if it were not for Strafford House! We usually get 2 large subs and an order of fries and it costs around $ 15 – 17 and that includes tax, and the food is always delicious! I am not going to openly admit how often we have ordered but we have never had a single problem. Never a mistake or something that was just ok… it has always been just what we asked for. Sad to say but these days I find that getting home to find your order not right happens more often than not, so Strafford House is awesome!

Went to this place because the other place I wanted to go did not open until noon so I figured I would try this place out. I ordered a large pie at 11:40am and waited and waited. I went up and asked how much longer at 12:05 and he said a few more minutes because they had oven issues. I am not sure why they could not have told me that to begin with. So finally another 10 minutes later the pizza came out. Mind you its hard to keep a 5 year old occupied for 35 minutes. Also to note we were the only one’s eating in here. The pizza wasn’t the best and wasn’t the worst it is just very greasy. If you do try this place hopefully you have a better experience.

One of the numerous pizza places in Dover, Strafford House has really great food at reasonable prices. The pizzas and subs are awesome and it’s right near my house, so my wife and I have frequented this place for years. I also like to go because the owners are fellow Greek Americans like I am, so it’s nice to support their business. But first and foremost, the food is great!

Best pizza crust there is HOWEVER the sauce is way to sweet for me. Thier steak subs are VERY good. Fair pricing. They do not take any cards CASH only, kind of a bummer. Very quick delivery

Pretty good pizza. Their delivery drivers have always been prompt and on time. Reasonable prices, if you are just looking for a regular pizza place… try em out. Update 07⁄2010 — Upgraded from 3-stars to 4-stars. My wife is pregnant and wanted pizza. However, the tomato sauce makes her sick, and she asked the staff at Strafford House to scrape it off. They were very accommodating, and by her own admission the pizza was near perfect when we got it. Great job!

Greek style pizza at the local best. This style pizza does tend to be a bit greasier than Chicago style or authentic Italian, or even Americanized Italian.
