My friend went to pay for her items and happened to be(I’m not kidding) TWOCENTSSHORT and the cashier had the NERVE to ask her«do ya wanna put something back?» For TWOCENTS!!! AREYOUFREAKINGKIDDINGME!!!(Two bucks? Understood! That discontinued flavored box of pop tarts I loved last year is not a life necessity, I’ll put those back thank you) Dear Miss Big Lots Cashier: By the end of the day, that two cents would’ve been back in your drawer, trust me! Even if the guy in line behind my friend hadn’t handed you that dime and told you big lots could keep the change. Your little stunt cost your employer some business, which I’m sure you don’t care about. You will start to care when nobody’s going thru your line and your hours get cut cuz corporate isn’t giving your bosses enough payroll hours. I worked retail for years, for corporations bigger than big lots. Not sure how their policies are about discrepancies when it comes to the cash till, but NEVERIN25+ YEARSOFWORKINGINPLACESWHEREMONEYWASINVOLVED, DID I SEEANYONEGETFIREDOVERTWOFREAKINGCENTS!!! Where is your humanity miss big lots cashier? Perhaps you should consider putting your customer service career in your rearview and try something new, like take an online course in common sense and people skills, and do something that doesn’t require interacting with the public, like work from home or something. The unemployment line has lots of people better skilled and qualified who would kill to have your spot(and probably should have it). Ppppffffffttttttt

I purchased a couch that was on clearance from Big Lots in Downey. I sat on it and everything was fine. Later that afternoon the delivery people showed up. The couch was broken and missing a rubber foot. The delivery people said that they picked up a new set of feet so that I could install them on the couch. I told them that when I inspected it, it was fine and it was not broken and that I should not have to change out the feet myself. Plus, they were a different size and made out of plastic instead of rubber. I visually looked at the plastic feet and the wholes for the screws did not even line up with anything on the couch. I told them I was going to refuse delivery and they both men became verbally abusive with me. Oscar Gutierez then threatened me and said if he has to come back to my property he was going to charge me double! I spoke to the manager, Yesel, at the store and she blamed the whole problem on me, saying that I did not inspect the couch properly. To me this sounds like maybe she new of a problem that was being covered up. I also told her about the delivery people and instead of apologizing she told me that she has never had a problem with them in the past. She then offered a full refund to me but I still was compelled to share my experience. Very disappointed with one of my favorite stores!

This big lots is great it’s across the mall so when you are on a budget just drive right over lol. It has a great selection of things and staff is friendly… I’m always up for good prices.

I absolutely love Big Lots, HOWEVER, the guy PERRIS in the furniture department is the ABSOLUTEWORST! I was inquiring about some bedroom furniture and he was least helpful. I was asking about the different selections on the headboards he was very vague and tried to make me answer my own questions. I’m sorry but I’m not the one with the name tag here! I finally decided I’d rather cough up the extra money somewhere else than to give this place any business. I asked to speak to the manager and as I was about to address my concern, Perris starting speaking to the manager very disrespectfully. At this point I don’t even bother because clearly they let this lackluster sorry excuse for an employee get away with anything. They must be union because I cant think of any other reason he still has a job here. Great job Big Lots, you’ve done an amazing job screening your employees *in my most sarcastic voice ever!*

I love Big Lots for their great selection of items and great prices. This location seems to be a little bigger than some other stores I’ve visited. It’s always kept clean and the employees are always friendly.

So… I’m here waiting for over 50 minutes so far. I talked to the guy in the furniture department that I wanted a gazebo that was displayed as well as a outside table set. He said he’d be right back. So after waiting over 20 minutes i went to ask another employee for help in the process I saw the guy who was supposed to be helping me walking up to a girl to ask if she needed help. I asked the other employee if she could help me and she pointed to the same guy and said he will help you. As he walked passed us she asked him if he can get the items for us. He responded a bit upset and said I will get them in a bit and walked away and here I am a half hour later. I know I can just walk out but I’m laying up in the patio furniture and it’s comfortable. Man I wish I had some of these at home. Maybe I could if they’d help… Horrible service as I watch employee after employee walk past me and not ask if I need help. So I’ll wait a few more minutes and then I’m out I have to pick up my son from school. So after seeing him walking around with a soda in hand and helping any young female customer find what they’re looking for, I sent my wife to ask him as he stood there just standing, and what do you know all of a sudden I get my sh**

Seriously this store needs to get it together, two days going back and fourth with their furniture department and delivery guys first day it was supposed to be delivered the guy never showed up to even pick up my furniture from the store, next day calls me to tell me his truck broke down, and he also left his phone in the truck, sounds like BS to me, i call the store just to double check that the furniture will be for sure coming since i already had someone leave work early two days in a row since someone has to be there, they said yes and that they were going to use a different delivery company, well that was a lie the guy from the truck calls me that afternoon and asks if he can deliver it now. i told him no one will there till 5, then he says well im in the area now or what about tomorrow morning i was like seriously? no you have inconvenienced me enough … so done with this damn place.

Stopped at this Big Lots since we ate at the Carls Jr. nearby… This place was awesome, big and a lot of items. A lot of home fashion items, plus furniture and food items. Will definitely be coming back for more.

Came in to this store to pick up an item that was on hold. A manager from another big lots had called here and spoke to the manager at this store. When I walked in close to closing time, she was very helpful and had my item in the front waiting for me. Both cashier and manager were helpful and offered to help carry my item out. I left it behind to pick it up next day since this was too big but wanted to take advantage of the sale that was ending that same day. No problems, came in next day still helpful and got help to get it in the car. Who would think, friendly without paying the extra cost for it.
