Great little place! The spicy feta was BOMB and the mixed grill plate could probably feed 2 people, it was piled high! The roasted potatoes were slightly lemony which was a delicious touch. The salad was fantastic and the chicken skewers were great. All around good meal. The waitress didn’t know the menu very well but she was very sweet and helpful with recommending her favorites and what she knew was good. The place is super clean but it’s in a little office unit and the tablecloths are plastic so it looks a little cheap if you care about that kind of stuff. We’ll be coming back!

Food: 1 star: :(Very dry and bland, but was pretty fresh. I am 90% sure their tzatziki sauce is just mayo mixed with dill. I was sick to my stomach for the rest of the night, feeling kind of like I had ingested an entire jar of mayo. Service: 5 stars! :) Our waitress was amazingly attentive and lightening fast bringing out refills and whatever we asked for. Ambiance: 2.5 stars. :/cheap, but clean. Loud lucha libre was playing the whole time we ate.

My first time here… I had the wrap it was delicious but if you don’t like onions then let them know because they do put a lot of onions. My boyfriend had the mixed grill diner plate also delicious. Both were very big and generous portions. Great price! Last but not least the people who work there are very welcoming and very friendly!

Fresh salads and good food for very reasonable price Ordered a cup of Bean soup on the side… it was good. Mixed plate to share with my g/f …and it was plenty for us even a doggie bag to go. Yes, It’s a casual homey feel nothing fancy but the Friendly attentive service and good food make this a great quick lunch.

I have been going here over 6 years never had a concern about quality or quantity and food is not only great but feast for eyes Salads are so fresh that never experienced before even on high end restaurant my favorite is Gyro but you chose anything with close eys and garunteed you wont be disappointed and the owner is extremely generous and kind like you know from generation he always sends us and the family complementary sweets. yesterday I was hungry for something great so I was thier and believe me I was sick that food made me feel better is just great feeling to go to this place is real Opa for me.

Best Greek food in Downey. Little gem of a place! Downey’s best kept secret. I typically get the Gyro with Opa fries. Love it every time! Today I got medium rare lamb chops… OMG the best ever!!!

My first time here & I fell in love. My food was delicious. I got the Greek salad with feta cheese… AMAZING! Then I ordered the beef screwers with roasted potatoes. Meat was so tender and juicy. My favorite was the pita bread. Light and toasted to perfection. I will definitely come here again but maybe try something else.

The food and the portions are very reasonable! We typically get the mixed grill plate to share, Greek salad, and the lemon soup on the side and still has more to spare. I believe it’s family owned, so it has a very mom and pop feel to the restaurant. The only thing docking a star for me is the fact that they didn’t honor the terms of our groupon for reasons that we didn’t purchase two entrees. Checked the terms and it just said must have 2 diners present. So not sure why. Regardless, just be careful when using the groupon, make sure you clarify prior to ordering.

I love this place! I’ve been going for years and often order to-go since I work in the area. The owners are very sweet and the food is so authentic and yummy. Their tzatziki is amazing! I would recommend something but everything is seriously too yummy!

Delicious and authentic Greek food served with a smile – well, most of the time. I love the Greek waitress. I feel like she’s my sister and I’m at her house for lunch. She respects the fact that I know Greek food. The hispanic lady wasn’t very nice to us either of the two times we’ve had her. I love the gyro meat and the salads and the Opa fries are SOOO worth the calories! Go during off times or on the weekend, when it’s not too crowded.

Gyro pita sandwich with Opa fries is my ‘Go To’ when I come here. I’ve tried the pork chop and the donair and have found they are too dry for my taste. They are very generous with the red onion and green bell peppers in the Greek salad so if you’re not a big fan of them, ask them(like I do) to go easy or skip altogether. The dressing is great but get it on the side so you can add it to your taste.

The Horiatiki chicken salad is soooo good here! They use the ripest and most aromatic tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, onion, and feta cheese. I like mine seasoned with salt and oregano, and dressed with olive oil. The side I like ordering is the oven roasted potatoes. YUMMY!

Very Busy place during a lunch Rush. A lot of Business attire folk filled the place for lunch with a few other construction, and medical field ppl. Going by the reviews of fellow Unilocalers I should have tried the Chicken but I didn’t. Huge Portions! totally could of shared with someone. Gyro Plate and Gyro sandwich were satisfactory but the lamb was dry, but try fixing it by asking for more tiziki sauce. Beef skewers– were flavorful and not dry so that was a good thing. The side of Veggies that came with it were just simple boil cook but it wasn’t a bad thing it was good. They were ok.

This place a pure gem clean food great prices and excellent service. Reminds me of being home. Opa is a restaurant that should be a chain! The quality and sizable portions make them stand alone. Crystal is an amazing host one to keep for sure. Genuinely sweet and great service.

Some friends and I decided to get together one last time before the new year and decided on Café Opa. I’ve had this place bookmarked and when one of the ladies suggested coming here I was all in. I had high hopes but was disappointed in the end. For starters we ordered the hummus as an appetizer while we continued to peruse the menu. It was a nice size for the four of us to share. We dove in but there just seemed to be something missing, it was on the bland side. The only plus side was that the pita was warm and soft. I decided on the salmon wrap while the others went with the falafel pita sandwich and the opa souvlaki sandwich. Everything seemed to be a hit. The salmon in my wrap was juicy and not overcooked and the flavors of the additional ingredients made this wrap a-ok with me. Following our meal we ordered the baklava. This baklava was another disappointment for the evening and I didn’t even finish this already small piece of dessert, for $ 3 I expected a bigger, fresher, dessert. The layers of filo were stale rather than flaky and I could barely cut into it with my fork. Service wasn’t bad but after a mishap I was left kinda shocked. The two servers of the night were very attentive and refilled drinks and made sure everything was ok. But when we were brought the check and separated it on our own they still charged my friend’s card with the majority of the check despite giving her cash to charge first. She was apologetic but we still couldn’t understand how this could have happened but it did and we must move on. Just be sure if you are going to pay with separate checks, that you tell them ahead of time, we know to do this next time. Plenty of parking in this strip mall so there is nothing to worry about here. I would hope that I could give them another chance and have a better experience.

Had lunch delivered yesterday. Ordered spicy feta, chicken wrap, & opa potatoes. Spicy Feta: 3.5÷5. Love the spicy feta at George’s Greek, so thought I’d try this. Not as delicious, but still good. Chicken Wrap: 4⁄5. Enjoyed this. Tasted fresh, and chicken was cooked well. Only criticism, the tzatziki sauce wasn’t as good as other Greek places. Opa Fries: 5⁄5. Love!!! Can’t go wrong with these! Delivery was quick. Prices were reasonable. Would I order from here again? Yes! I got to try more!
