Not sure what is going on with this place but it definitely used to be a 4 – 5 star establishment. The last few visits have definitely left a lot to be desired with the customer service as well as the quality of the food. Last night was definitely disappointing… We ordered a gyro special and a greek chicken salad. First off, the girl taking my order seemed to be new and was also flirting back and forth with the cook. Now, I don’t mind the flirting but at least learn to multi task so I don’t have to repeat my order to you three times. She finally gets the order down but didn’t hear me say it was to dine there so when everything is ready, it’s packed in to go containers. I just took it as is cause I figured it’d already be in a container if I didn’t finish my meal. She then forgot my soda, I had to remind her it was still missing, twice! I paid for a garlic sauce which she forgot to put in my bag so when I asked her for it, she quickly grabbed a lil container and smeared a tiny bit of garlic sauce into the container. It wasn’t even filled half way! Ugh! Then we finally settled into a booth and as I started to eat my chicken salad it had a weird cheap tasting dressing on it. Where was that delicious, tangy, lemony dressing it always has?!? I ask the guy at the register and he says they only do the lemon dressing upon request, so if you don’t know any better you’re stuck with the cheap Italian dressing. Boo!!! They remake my salad with the lemon dressing but then as I’m eating my salad there’s mostly nasty chicken skin instead of the nicely shredded chicken they normally add. I take it back and show the cook the«chicken» while I ask for a manager or something. He proceeds to tear through the chicken skin with his hands and drops the skin on the floor before getting another guy from the back and then tells him about my complaint, but of course at this point the chicken skin is not on the plate and on the floor out of sight. The other guy finally reluctantly gives me the money back for my salad but I’m left with an empty stomach and a disappointed feeling about this place that used to be great… By the way, two stars only cause the gyro and fries were still good.

Used to go to Ani’s all the time, but lately they are either out of rotisserie chicken or they are closed. Ever since the owner opened up Mr. M’s, Ani’s has suffered. This last time, I went on a Saturday to get the family meal. Walked in at 7, as I was waiting behind another gentlemen ordering 2 whole chickens the«new» manager comes out from the back and tells the cashier«what are you doing? I don’t have any more food, we close at 7» so me and the guy that had just ordered walked out. I’m done with this place! The new guy In charge seems like a real asshole. Oh by the way, their website says they close at 8 on Saturdays.

Yo e ido a Ani’s varias veces, y me gusta mucho.

This place is great love the food and the employees are extremely nice. For two people the price is cheap and you get enough for three people. Hummus is amazing and like the Mediterranean diet you can get very healthy food for a minimal wait.

First time customer and it won’t be the last time I’ll be here! The chicken is so most with so much flavor. I also tried the pita nachos and they were so yummy and different! My son is a picky eater when it comes to chicken and he loved it! The rice is delicious and I love the extra pita bread they give you.

I have been coming to Anis Chicken for a couple years now and they never fail. The chicken is fresh and flavorful along with warm pita bread and garlic sauce on the side. It is a small restaurant and parking is very limited, so it is best to usually take the food to go. Other than that this place is great to get some chicken, kabobs, or even a gyro.

My co workers and I always cater from Ani’s Chicken in Montebello. Every holidays, birthdays, every event we have at work, food is always catered from Ani’s. Today, we catered for a birthday and we found a piece of metal in the salad. I called them to talk to the manager and told them what I found. I sent him a text message to show him pictures of the metal! He didn’t apologize and he was not embarrassed nor did he care what was in the salad. He asked what we did with the food and I said we threw it away. He got so upset and yelled at me for throwing away the food instead of calling him right away so they can replace it. It’s not about replacing the food or getting my money back. Point is the«manager» didn’t care enough to make sure it never happens again. He wasn’t apologetic. He made it sound like it’s our fault there’s a piece of metal in the salad. He told me to go to the restaurant and show him the pictures in person. I will not go to that place because he was mean and was very rude and frankly I’m afraid. I’ve told everyone here at work and showed them the pictures. Nobody is ever going back! Oh and to top it off, he hung up the phone on me!

Actually really enjoyed this place. I don’t normally hang out around this area but my friend insisted on the garlic paste, so we went and got the family meal for three. Pretty decent and we didn’t have any problems whatsoever. The chicken is good, maybe the skin was a little over seasoned(salty) but it goes well with the warm pita bread, hummus, salad, and rice. Was prepared for a unhealthy lunch because of my company, but ended up having a pretty healthy meal. The family meal was about 17.99 and was pretty worth it for an indecisive group who likes to share.

OUTOFCHICKEN… AGAINANDAGAIN!!! More than once after a hard day at work and driving in traffic I have tried to pick up some dinner at this place. While one mishap is understandable, more than once I have gone here to find out they are out of chicken. When the word chicken is in your name, you might want to make sure you have enough. Come back in 2 hours? No thank you Ani’s. Your food ain’t that good, especially with Zankou down the street. From now on I will go there. They don’t run out of chicken. Oh– and they actually have parking too.

I really wanted to like this place. It would beat the drive to Pasadena for Mediterranean Café. I got the half chicken plate. The chicken breast was so dried that it gave me cotton mouth. It tasted like day old chicken reheated. How else would the meat have no texture and falling off the bone. Fall of the bone is usually a good thing but not when it is old and overcooked. The garlic sauce was good. The Hummus is average. The price is fair. Half chicken plate was $ 8.71 tax included. I’m not sure I would go back though. I am curious about their lamb but if they can’t do chicken right, then I’m pretty sure lamb wouldn’t be better. I wish they would read the reviews here and stop serving old and dried chicken.

Wow talk about gross tasting. Ive been here before 2 times and and had ordered the chicken breast kabob plate with no complaints. This time I went I ordered the Combo plate, meaning steak kabob and chicken kabob with rice and salad. Upon tasting the steak I immediately knew it was not fresh, it tasted old and recooked. It was STIFF and super gristly, I couldn’t pull the meat apart with my hands, it was super stiff and tasted weird! I asked for a garlic sauce and the had the nerve to charge money for a CONDIMENT like it was the second coming or something. My bf ordered a steak sandwich and choked horribly on it, he couldnt even tell me that the steak was gristly and stiff and nasty until I complained to him. I was in utter disbelief at how bad this stuff was tasting, I had paid $ 20 dollars for both plates and a soda. So quietly so not to disturb the patrons I walked my plate to the woman at the counter. I demonstrated the steak and told her the chicken was greasy and not fresh and she said«well I can give you a $ 5 voucher for a future visit ‘and started to handwrite something. she also said«you should have brought it to me upon the first bite» WOULDTHATHAVEMADEHERGIVEMEMYMONEYBACK? no! How about, I WASHUNGRY? ANDWANTEDTOEATGOODFOOD. THECOOKCOWEREDBEHINDTHECOUNTER and she said well they probably didnt beat the meat hard enough, I said it was pure lard on the chicken and gristle on the steak??? IVEHADMEDITERRANEANKABOBANDARMENIANKABOBS, I KNOWWHATTHEYSHOULDTASTELIKE. So they ended up not giving me another dish, or my hard earned money back to buy a decent dinner. here I am trying to eat healthy and get treated like an idiot. I don’t know why I haven’t written a review for Ani’s before. We frequent Ani’s quite a bit. I’ve had the chicken, the lule both chicken and beef are good, the plates come with rice and hummus and a little tub of garlic sauce. The sandwiches are good too, the boyfriend gets the gyro which comes with steak fries. The grape leaves are good also. They now charge 50c for extra garlic sauce and the sandwiches don’t come with it so you have to pay extra. They have recent changed their hours which are supposed to be temporary. Closed on Sunday

First and last time coming here… HORRIBLE!!! I ordered the combo kabob and the steak didn’t taste well and the chicken was okay… also i had to pay 50 cents more for garlic sauce… Why? If i ordered a combo meal shouldn’t it be included? Also it didnt even taste like garlic. The Salad that came with it… some of the cumbers were wilted… yuk… the fountain soda was Flat!

More like a 3.6. I had the rotisserie chicken. It comes with salad, pilaf rice and garlic sauce. Hummus and pita bread free as well. The meat on the chicken fell off the bone and it was flavorful, rice was a bit bland, and the garlic sauce was a bit garlicky for me. thought it was a decent hole in the wall find. Good but didn’t wow me. I’ll be back to try more dishes!

This place used to be pretty good. Lately it seems like their food product is NOT up to par. Their side items do not seem fresh. They look and taste as if they’ve been sitting there for days. The pickled turnips were a dark purplish color(they should be closer to pink in color). They told me they used a different kind of vinegar. They tasted a bit acidic to me. The Lula chicken kabobs were dry, not cooked properly, and lacked flavor. The rotisserie chicken was way over cooked. I almost choked it was so dry. The wings were so crispy they weren’t even edible. If you want to know how good Mediterranean food should look and taste. I highly recommend HYECUISINE in Montebello on Whittier Blvd. They take pride in the quality of food they serve. They’re also much cheaper in price. Did I mention they deliver free of charge? ZANKOUCHICKEN is a better option as well. I will never go back to Ani’s chicken. Now I know better. I expect fairness in every business deal. If you’re in the business of providing a food service. Please get it right!

I had the ¼ chicken plate. The chicken portion was very, very small– still an ok size for me though. It was a tad salty, but tender and juicy. Came with a generous portion of rice(very generic and uninspired), a small bit of salad, and a garlic-y sort of spread(?). My friend and I also got some pita bread and hummus(which was rly good). All the prices seem pretty reasonable. My plate was $ 5.99 +tax. If you’re going south on Montebello blvd, it’s just past the dairy or, if you’re going north, just past El Pollo Loco. It shares a small lot with Heavenly Choices, across the street from the mall the Von’s is in. If you’re in need of more parking(there’s like 10 spots in the lot), you could probably park in the surrounding residential area– not even a 5min walk. Overall, not bad. I’d come here again.
