This place used to be fun, but it has lost its charm. The ambiance is simply no longer there. No longer the large crowded dance floor it used to be. The music is mostly latin ballroom, salsa, marengue cumbia and some reggaeton. The dj plays outdated old salsa music that is really slow. The interior has been remodeled but still a bit dated, and the restrooms were really dirty, no seatcovers for the ladies. The cover charge is $ 10 and coronas $ 7, $ 4 water. Kind of pricey for a dumpy joint like this. The waitress came around every 10 mins tring to sell you more drinks, they were annoying as hell.

This club sucks the owner is very strict and mean because he tells people to either go in the club or leave his property and tells the gaurds to kick you out if you dont leave dont recomend plus irs very small in the club your better off going to the steven stakehouse where its nice and clean not comparing to this dirty dump club vasilios where the restrooms are always dirty and dont get clean.

My hubby and I have been coming here for at least 10 years and we ALWAYS have a fun time at this place. If you have been put off by past poor reviews or experiences here, I would urge you to give Vasilio’s another chance. Good salsa clubs are hard to come by and I understand that Vasilio’s is one of the oldest if not the oldest salsa places in LA. So yes, it’s shows the wear and tear. But, improvements have been made. The staff is super nice and the music awesome in my humble opinion. Thanks to the DJ for playing at least 2 cha chas last night in addition to a well balanced playlist of cumbia, merengue, bachata and of course, classic salsa music. You can take a class before the nightclub dancing starts, Tomas is an experienced teacher and I believe usually teaches a salsa class as well as bachata. One last little thing, protect your hearing, bring ear protection, hearing damage is permanent. I promise you’ll still enjoy the music. :)

This is a nice little spot for salsa dancing… I have come here before… several months ago. Great Halloween parties! As of late, I find that, at least on Fridays and this is the second time in six months, the place is almost empty around 10:00pm… barely starts picking up around 10:30pm… maybe it’s all the construction/re-paving in the area??? :-\ The music is salsa, merengue, bachata… and the occasional cumbia… pretty decent… just not enough girls/women to dance with… this is hard to believe after having so much fun in previous years… The place is clean, it seems new booths were added since the last time I was here… nice touch. Cover on Friday is $ 5 bucks. You get a pat-down at the door, btw. Of the people I see on the dance floor as I write this review, I see big, nice smiles… that’s always a good sign. I gotta say, this is a good spot to unwind and have a couple of dances at my own pace after a long week/Friday. Some rally good dancers here. Some new to salsa, good mix for everyone. All levels… I have to say, I’m not sure why, but this place used to be packed… here’s hoping it picks up soon. I’m giving it three stars cause, well there needs to be more people… :-P it has potential.

Went here on Saturday for the club, music was great, good variation of salsa, merengue, cumbias, and reggeaton. The crowd here on Saturdays range from 27 – 40’s with the guys being closer to the 40’s mark. Great place, good price, would recommend.

A friend recommended this place to learn salsa. The instructor is a very experienced dancer and makes it easy to learn in a comfortable environment. There are a lot of beginners so there is no reason to be shy. Check this place out on Thursday or Saturdays from 7:30pm-9:30pm for the $ 10 classes and stay for the club after for free. They have good drink specials and food but I have yet to try it. Come out and dance with us.

Vasilios is a nice spot for dancing Latin music. So if you are into Reggaeton, Salsa, Merengue and such this is the place for you. NOW, having said that, this place is more couples oriented. I’ve noticed is mostly couples. Not a lot of single girls waiting to be picked up to dance, everybody for the most part has a partner. So make sure to bring somebody to dance or you may end up having a miserable time. Tip: They also have free munchies by the side of the bar. Some chips and chicken drumbs come handy after a workout in the dance floor :)

Came here late this past Friday night for some salsa dancing, even though I have no clue whatsoever on how to salsa dance. My two friends and I were the only Asians there, but we I felt like we were welcomed in with open arms. There were no awkward stares like at some other uni-ethnic places. My only complaint about this place is that I thought the music was way too loud.

This place is so ghetto. The dance floor is small. The girls are mean and won’t dance and the security guards frisk you when you walk in. Don’t really want to get manhandled on a night out. There are better places to go to for Salsa
