We are craving for great seafood and this place is heaven sent! Great customer service plus the food is sooo good! Shrimps are way to big than boiling crab. I will definitely go back.

The food is good however the service is crappy! Avoid sitting against the wall or in a corner because no one will ever help you! Twice this has happened to us and until their service gets better or they have a better staff, then maybe we’ll go back.

Stinkin special shrimp and crab legs and garlic cajun chicken wings are the bomb! And their deep fried oreo is to die for. Great customer service, Tim is amazing! Highly recommended.

Came here yesterday from Los Angeles to check it out since my friends and I were huge fans of Boiling Crab– I’ve never been to Downey! Absolutely loved the place. We ordered two pounds of Snow Crab clusters, pound of the clams, pound of the tiger shrimp, Cajun garlic fries and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was bland but everything else was so tasty. We got the Stinkin Special sauce and it didn’t leave an after taste like Boiling Crabs’s Whole Shabang seasoning. Service was on point, no wait time and they allowed us to sit even without our full party. They even offered us free dessert which was the deep fried Oreo with vanilla ice cream– so tasty! Keep up the great quality and service. Definitely coming back!

Ordered 1 lb of shrimp, veggie egg rolls, and garlic fries. The service was good but the flavor of the shrimp sauce was OK; watery and not a lot of spice. It was also very salty. The free fries donut with Oreo was a nice touch. The staff is friendly and the restroom was clean.

I came for a birthday celebration here, we were a party of nine and service was good, food was good, but nothing outstanding. Beer is resonantly priced at $ 4 for bottles, I had Stella Artois and the server had it out in a few minutes. The server was really nice and approachable. I had a few questions about how scallops were cooked and about the yummy fried Oreo and she answered it all. Make sure you check in for that complimentary dessert. Scallops were cooked perfectly and the garlic butter was perfect. Cajun style cole slaw was sweet and yummy. I had some of my husbands fried catfish and the batter was thin, crispy and fish was fresh. Now that all the good cute stuff is out of the way, I have two complaints. One is the music was much too loud for me. Either I’m getting old, or – no I’m not the music was obnoxiously loud. Also, my party had paid our bill and were walking out when one of the servers ran out to tell us about a drink we hadn’t paid for. How embarrassing… is one drink really worth running out of the restaurant? Not to me, those are measures you take when someone has skipped out on the bill. Not the case here. If someone invited me here I may come back, but I don’t think I’ll ever randomly pick this. I’d rather have a sandwich across the street at Porto’s.

The seafood-in-a-bag concept has been done better than this place, at other similar restaurants. I really wanted to be impressed. The wait staff was not engaging. I walked in and felt ignored. It was difficult to get my food and drink order placed, and then the food timing was completely off. We weren’t given enough time to eat our starters(wings, fries, etc) before our bags of shrimp were brought out. The food itself was good, not great. I recommend the cajun garlic wings and garlic fries(fresh garlic!) Our jumbo prawns were bagged in the«stinkin» house sauce. It was mildly flavorful. I probably would kick it up next time. Dessert was complimentary, although their Unilocal page had a check-in offer for the same thing… one deep fried Oreo in a little paper boat, and a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. Everyone gets it. You are not special lol. The dessert doesn’t match the cuisine, and my Oreo was not hot. Just a cold, battered Oreo. People really seemed to enjoy them though. I’d recommend this spot for their happy hour. Try it out for the good cold beers, discounted apps, and maybe a smaller bag of shrimp to see if you like it before investing. Hopefully your server will be a little more attentive and professional.

I cried having stinkin crawfish. literally. Beware if you have friends that squeeze too hard when they peel off the skin of shrimps. I had sauces splashed into my eyes and THATHURTED A LOT. We went to stinkin crawfish because our last experience at the Boiling Crab sucked so bad that I swear I am not going to return. This place has a bigger menu compared to Boiling Crab. The service is really good too despite the fact that they are shorthanded. I would like to thank our server for letting us know the spicy stinking sauce is going to be very spicy. It had tons of garlic in it and it got me hooked that I just have to bring the left over sauces home so I can mix it with rice or something.

Pound of tiger shrimp mild with sausage, corn, rice, and garlic bread: A+++ I love this place. Attentive service, chill vibe, and free fried Oreo dessert. Best.

Glad we decided in this place over boiling crab. I got the tiger shrimp with stinkin sauce so yummy! Bonus on the free desert! Stopped by for lunch on a weekday it was nice and empty. Definitely will be returning!

This place is great but what made it better was our server Tim. The guy is awesome and I will 100% be back because of him. Thanks Tim for and awesome time.

Compared to Boiling Crab, I actually like this place a lot better. Not only is it closer and less busy, the waiters and waitresses are so much more outgoing than those at BC. Their menu is easy if you’re a first-timer, and they have different specials basically everyday of the week! My boyfriend and I can grub here for days. Last time we went, they had a special for $ 1 oyster shooters too! Another bonus: they have a good beer selection and they are all reasonably priced. Extra lemon wedges, salt, pepper, ketchup, and sauce are provided when asked. It’s a fun place to grab lunch or go on a date to!

All the seafood needs to be seasoned better was very bland, I ordered jambalaya to go for my husband a was so gross, the rice was sticky and there was no chicken or shrimp in it at all! Our bill was over $ 100 and was not even worth it at all, will never come back. Service was horrible our waitress never once smiled at us and every time we asked her for something she appeared to be irritated.

Definitely come here! If you love Boiling Crab then you’ll definitely love this place! None of the 3 hr wait here like there is at Boiling Crab!(The 3hrs wait is actually across the street at Porto’s lol). We got seated right away and we received our drinks and food VERY fast. The waiters and waitress really worked together to make sure the service was fast for everyone dining. We tried the oysters, michelada, shrimps and the fried Oreo w/ice cream! I personally liked everything! Oysters were a little on the small side but if that’s not a deal breaker for you then you’ll be fine. After coming here I will never ever deal with boiling crab again. Ever.

Half the wait than Boiling Crab = half the flavor. I’ve been sorta wanting to try this place since(before) it opened but didn’t look forward to some disappointment. Jumbo Shrimps with Stinking Sauce * the sauce is good when you mix it with rice. But the flavor is lacking when you eat it with the shrimps. It’s not bad, just okay. A valiant attempt at copying Boiling Crab. If they’re not trying to copy BC(I’m pretty sure they don’t like being called copycats), then great attempt at making a flavorful dish! Cajun fries *ok Gumbo *ok Saketini *too watered down Free deep fried Oreo with ice cream *it was free and it was still OK. Went home full but not satisfied. Next time I’m just gonna go get take out from Boiling Crab.

The Stinkin Crawfish is place to be for Seafood. The entire place is filled with cool pirates and boats decorations. They have plenty of seating and also an outside patio area for large parties. The wide selection of seafood makes your experience much more pleasant. As we walked. we immediately noticed this place was popular due to the large parties and all the bags of seafood. At first i was a bit hesitant to buy shrimp by the pound, specially when you need to peel it. I bought it anyways. Ordered items: 1 pound of Tiger shrimp and ½ of crab legs. Everything was seasoned in Medium sauce. The experience was like no other. We placed our bib around our neck and began to devour all the food. At first it was really annoying and frustrating having to peel each shrimp, but as we continued to eat it became easier. I wasn’t a big fan of the medium sauce. The items ordered were brought in a timely manner and the tiger shrimp were really big and flavorful. Theres nothing more satisfying than to leave a messy table after eating shrimp and crabs. We devoured everything. Overall, the experience was quite interesting. The seafood by the pound was actually delicious and peeling shrimp is just part of the experience. I will be back again.

I like this place a lot. Great service great music great location awesome food. The Stinkin special sauce is great and the seafood is hot and fresh. Don’t order extra spicy. I’m Asian and I couldn’t handle that. My friend ordered 2lb extra spicy shrimps and he was red as a tomato and tears in his eyes. I ordered medium spicy and that was perfect for me.
