My family stayed at the Sheraton while they were in town and we went here for breakfast one morning. I had a bad feeling when I saw that the sign said«Authentic Irish Mexican Cantina»(is that really a thing?) but we were low on time and it was right there. We went pretty early on a Saturday and there were only two groups in the restaurant, including us. The food was pretty standard. Between the table we got omelettes, french toast, and a fruit and yogurt parfait. The menu says that the french toast comes with bananas and/or seasonal berries, but it really came with exactly half of one strawberry. That’s some real skimping if I’ve ever seen it. The food was pretty standard– not bad, but nothing to write home about. The service wasn’t stellar. I think I asked for water three times, starting when we first sat down, and didn’t get any until I had about 3 bites of my meal left. There were no spoons at the table, so I used my brother’s coffee spoon to eat. Anything we asked for, we had to ask multiple times. This wouldn’t have bothered me so much if there weren’t only one other table in the entire place at the time. And they add an automatic 18% tip to every bill, which really annoys me– I’m not a stingy tipper by any means but I don’t like when you’re forced to tip a certain percentage, especially when the service isn’t great. If you’re staying at the hotel and you don’t want to wander out to find all the great food that Brooklyn has to offer, this will feed you just fine, but I wouldn’t go out of your way to eat here.

I stayed at the Sheraton for the night and figured I’d come down for a drink or two before heading off to the wedding I was attending. Tap list wasn’t bad and the bartender was helpful in terms of places to visit around the area if I had time. My sister’s boyfriend ordered a whiskey sour and enjoyed it, so that can’t be too horrible. Came back down here for brunch the following morning(also part of the wedding) and the food was decent. We even had our own room to share with all the families/friends who also went to the wedding. The home fries or potatoes or whatever they considered them were delicious. The staff was courteous, polite, and even offered to take plates away when we were finished. It’s your typical dive bar atmosphere, so you shouldn’t be expecting a whole lot to begin with. Not bad for a hotel bar though.

I’m writing this review from inside the restaurant if that tells you how bad it is. Two beers from the tap that taste like the line hasn’t been cleaned in the last few years. My food took about 40 minutes to be ready. In the end, my bad for being dumb enough to walk into an authentic Irish and Mexican restaurant.

The dining experience was lifted straight out of Fawlty Towers. The only thing missing was John Cleese!

Foods not good and the service is just as bad. Expectations were low since it’s in a hotel but this was pretty bad. Ate with two others and they all agreed.

Hard to say if this merits two or three stars. It’s a hotel bar/restaurant, buried in the Brooklyn Sheraton. It’s bigger than you’d expect. Two bartenders behind the bar, also doing table service for bar tables. They get busy/overwhelmed pretty easily, and anything custom you ask for is going to be forgotten at some point. They’re not jerks, they’re trying, but maybe it’s just understaffed. I saw that I wasn’t the only one kind of frustrated by the pace of service and/or getting orders taken. I wouldn’t bother coming here unless staying in the hotel and you’re too tired to go explore the neighborhood. Some food was OK, but chips and guac came with super stale chips and super creamy guac(meaning it wasn’t super fresh or being kept super cold).

Great margaritas. Nachos… acceptable. Shepard’s pie… awesome. Service… very good. Reggae music… I’m buzzin on margaritas… why the hell not.

I’m a huge fan and have been a long time customer. Lot’s of different salsa and sauces to meet your taste expectations. Fast service. I love the upstairs for lunch with the open windows and the casual service by the bar tender. Great value for the money as well, big plates with lots of food… plan on a doggie bag.

The place isn’t as what it says on the title or type completely but I will say the moods not bad. I cannot say nor will I say I am experienced when it comes to foods. As it will be an insult to the professionals. The Mexican burger wasn’t bad but could use work it was easier to eat than some of the other burgers I’ve eaten in Florida, Texas, and Great Lakes. The pickle they added was nice but the bulb on it displaced the burger(should not be confused with taking pickle out entirely still good burger). The salad was good but it’s just a «salad» so it does not stick out especially with a name that has steak in it. No comment there. Some more variety of Mexican dishes should be looked into to help diversify their menu. One issue I came across was that in all the bars I’ve been to things like sweet tea or coke were always refillable freely but as to New York’s standards I’m not sure. Their services could use some work but that’s taking into account other states instead of New York’s services New York’s attitude is between pleasant to just rude but it’s normal for NYC. Overall I enjoyed my time there as pleasant and hope they get better. Note: This does not include anything related to the hotel they’re in. The hotel isn’t related to this review whatsoever.
