I’ve been searching for high quality smoked salmon since My husband Jeff and I went to Russ and daughters in NYC. This is the best smoked salmon around. Im counting down the days until Sebastien opens his restaurant on 290 this summer! Simply hands down the best smoked and cured fish you can find.

Holy smoked salmon, Batman! When talking to friends, I refer to Celtic Seafare as «my salmon guy from the farmer’s market» because that’s where I was first introduced. He is the main reason that the Barton Creek Farmer’s Market is my favorite market in town. He runs a tight ship selling fresh smoked salmon bagels there, while also selling his smoked salmon products. I’ve had the bagel(delicious), the salmon belly cubes(amazing), the gravlax with dill and black pepper(best gravlax ever), and some random samples of candied salmon that I am very curious about. But the thing that really sells me is Celtic Seafare’s Friday Night Supper Clubs. That’s right: most Fridays, Celtic Seafare hosts a 3 course supper club at the store in Dripping Springs for around $ 40 pp+BYOB. My girlfriends and I went one weekend when we were staying out in the Hill Country, and our minds. were. blown. I had Northwest oysters on the half shell for my appetizer, smoked salmon ravioli for the main, and a chocolate gâteau cake for dessert. Along with the two bottles of wine we took, it was a superb dinner. All you have to do is follow him on FB to see the week’s menu and then call and make a reservation! I never knew that Dripping Springs had such a food scene, but I can now verify that it’s worth any drive from Austin for this meal!

I recently had Celtic Seafare provide appetizers for an open house event. They worked with me on the menu, delivered their scrumptious platters right on time! Everyone loved the salmon. So glad that they are in Dripping Springs. Thank you!

I am still trying to wrap my finger around the concept! We are so tired of the same old wine this and that and now here you go. I had an awesome time there on Friday, totally not knowing what this new establishment was all about. Picked up a friend at the airport and stopped by on the way through Drip and HADTOSTOP. I am so glad I did! Never in our wildest dreams did we think we’d love this but we do. The variety and tastes all worked, not just worked, but worked well. The candied salmon was our favorite. We sampled 6 or 7 varieties including a salmon salad, dill salmon, seaweed slaw, fresh Pure Luck Farms goat cheeses and more! I plan on putting this on my places to chill with friends. It is BYOB so now I know and now YOUKNOW!

Woahh! Shabang! A great addition to the Austin-area’s ever growing food-scape. Sebastian cures some awesome smoked salmon, with the familiar cold pressed as well as some wonderful alternatives, such as the plum and black sesame seed hot smoked, and I was lucky enough to sample the salmon MOUSSE. Yes, salmon mousse. Which, though the idea may seem unappealing. tasted like lox and butter. Uh, two of the best edible things on earth. The salmon«candy» was great, though despite its name, is not a suitable dessert. The straight cold pressed salmon, which I’d consider the most Jewish-style(MOT here!), is great. I honestly think lox and bagel is one of the best foods in the world.(Maybe I’m biased?) Celtic Seafare, with good reason, isn’t necessarily the most Jew-y of establishments. But I never kept Kosher anyway. It’s that good.

Sebastian and his crew make some amazing artisan smoked salmon that they sell to a bustling crowd at the Barton Creek Farmers Market. They are so passionate about their Hot & Cold Smoked Salmon offering numerous samples to everyone who passes by it is hard to walk away without something. So far I have purchased the Hot Smoked Lemon Pepper and the Hot Smoked with Plum Sauce and today I purchased a bag of salmon skin Sookie Treats for my dogs for only 4.00! The smoked salmon(I forget the price per LB) averages 9 – 11.00 pre-portioned enough for 4 or 5 people as an appetizer. They also sell Wholy Bagels with cream cheese and cold smoked salmon, Salmon Crepes with dill & Goat Cheese(AMAZING!) for 4.75 and toasted sourdough sandwiches with Goat Cheese and Arugula. Check them out and thank me later!
