Much improved(and new) selections at the bar. Prices are still exceptionally high but the experience covers at least a portion if the premium. I’d consider making beverages free. No reason to pay for a diet cola when you are paying extra for the eats. Nice improvements! DJS

Very disappointing meal! I have been to numerous Mongolian Grill style restaurants in various cities and typically really enjoy my meals. As for my first experience at BD… I felt this eating experience lacked authenticity and quality. For the price, the quality of beef and shrimp should be much better. We won’t be back.

I really used to like BD’s Mongolian Grill and would look forward to making my own meals. These days I would rather make my own meals at home. It’s not the same as before. The prices on simple entrees have become ridiculous. There is no reason a bowl of rice, choice of meat or tofu, and vegetables should be what they charge. I recommend the extra $ 2 for unlimited portions so you can eat your money’s worth. It would be hard for many to eat that much, though. The appetizers cost extra, and soup is nothing special. I had the tomato soup and it tasted like Campbells. This is not worth the increasing prices.

We used to love the Mongolian Barbecue restaurant in Indianapolis. The restaurant was very festive and usually vibrant with lots of people. I also got the impression that the food was much better. For whatever reason whenever we’ve been to this location, it has very few customers, and although they have a very large variety of meats and veggies, somehow we can never get the taste right. For those who don’t know how this restaurant works, you basically fill your bowl with meats, veggies, toppings, and sauces, and then you hand it off and they cook everything for you. It is all you can eat, so you can go as many times, and there is also a section for salads and soups. You can also order sides like egg-rolls, crab rangoon, potstickers, etc.

The food is excellent. There was no wait about 6:30PM on a Friday night so that’s always a good thing. Our waitresses was very friendly and attentive. No issues in line and the cooks are funny and friendly. I love that you pick what you want amd the food was fresh.

Just«okay». The mongolian ginger sauce is pretty yummy, but the quality of the noodles they offer in the serving line could be upgraded. About what I would expect from a chain place.

Used to love this place. Have they raised their prices? Somehow the up charges for rice, the soda… all make for a bigger bill than the plate and the place deserves. It’s still fun to craft a stir-fry but when it’s over $ 20 per person, I pause as to how good is it really. The last visit I was only halfway through my dinner when the waiter asked about dessert. Yes, my companion was almost finished… but I felt rushed. Perhaps it’s time for this place to figure out just what they want to be? I can go down the street to BibiBop and for half the price get a find rice based healthy bowl.

Not much of a step up from McDonald’s. Poor service, uninspiring food. It’s like this place has a constant identity crisis. Is it a high end restaurant(prices would say so) or is it Steak ‘n Shake? I would try this place once just so you experience this for yourself.

Writing this review makes me sad. This use to be one of my favorite places. I went there last eve with my 2 kids and I was NOT impressed. First of all they were out of kids menus and the table was so sticky I hated to touch it let alone eat off of it. Then the nail in the coffin was the quality of food. The salad bar was dirty and the selection limited as most the containers were over half empty. I love the idea of this place and I’ve had good food there before but this experience was was less than par.

I very much like the concept of this restaurant chain. If you have watched Seinfeld, it’s like baking your own pie. Add all the toppings you can/want and top it off with condiments and sauces and hand it over to the dude with the stove to cook it for ya. Be careful what sauces/condiments you add to your bowl. They can make/break it. I was disappointed with my bowl as it tasted weird. Here’s a tip — don’t mix Szechuan with Chili sauce. Go easy on the condiments and add just a little bit of one or two that you think will be flavorful.

How can you go wrong in a place like this? The atmosphere and the servers are very welcoming. the choices of meat… Fresh vegetables a super sauce bar and a dry herb bar. You basically create your own meal and they cook it for you in a super flashy way with sword like utensils. this is one of the few places that it is better to attend on a busy day for the full vibe of things.

Food was decent. Prices were reasonable. Other than that nothing really special, just another chain, exactly what you’d expect. Their catering is probably better than the actual restaurant.

Listen, it’s BD’s. It’s not like it’s some remarkable place, known for their great cuts, or their amazing selections. You pick your own mess, and you pick your own spices, and you suffer the consequences. I know, it’s my own damn fault that I can only be inspired in my own kitchen, and I make these insanely spicy concoctions here. The service, however, is amazingly friendly. Unlike the bowls I usually end up making.

BD’s is awesome, especially if you have a large group. No two bowls will taste the same! This place is always busy, but I’ve never experienced a time when they run out of food. One bowl is about $ 13 and if you are skillful, you can pile on enough food to feed three people! It doesn’t matter if you follow their recipe cards or be creative, the food always come out tasting amazing. If you’re a student, Wednesdays are only $ 8 per bowl($ 10 for unlimited)! It’s such a good deal, hard to say«no» to.

They offer a good variety of sauces and condiments to flavor up your bowl. The selection of meat/veggies are similar to any other mongolian grill. A not-so-bad stir fry place. It would be more appealing if they lowered the price and make salad/soup as add-on choice.

I do not believe that this is true Mongolian food(a cuisine I am not familiar with) but it is a decent stir fry, more in the Japanese grill tradition than anything more exotic. The concept, if you are unfamiliar, is a dish selected of one raw but fresh serving of meat, two vegetables, one BBQ sauce, two spices(I may have the quantities confused) and placed on top of ramen noddles. It is stir fried on an iron grill in the open. The experience is somewhat akin to Japanese steakhouses with less showmanship, but still with a bit of entertainment; the cooks will banter, flip utensils, and pretty much act like Tom Cruise in Cocktail as they turn, mix, and fry your selected ingredients. The meal is hit or miss. Of course it depends on your culinary bonafides(I have none) so if you pick a bad combination your meal could taste like a casserole made of thanksgiving leftovers. It is best to go with known combos: chicken with teriyaki sauce, pork with BBQ, ect. I have been here enough to experiment, which I can make good by adding garlic – garlic can make anything taste good. It is a decent meal, but it won’t blow you away.(that event happens later.) I am impress by the quality of their calamari – it is very flavorful and has excellent texture for a chain offering. Their other meat is decent but nothing to crow about. Service is usually good, although this trip the waitress did mix up our drinks, but it was a large party. They do have a bar, but offer no craft or IDA beer. I do not think it is a full bar though, just standard domestic or imports drafts and bottles, some mix concoctions, standard chain offerings. It’s a nice place for a family night out.

Who doesn’t like all you eat bowls or just a create your own bowl? Chipotle style concepts are always doing well because people like building and customizing whatever they want to eat. It’s fast and friendly service as well as a large location. I would say it’s a good lunch option or for bigger groups too. No complaints here.

I like this location, lots of seating. Staff was friendly. The cooks were pretty good after you choose your meats and veggies. It was all cooked well. They even gave us a takeout box for what we did not finish. I would definitely go back!

We had a big group, and we were adequately pleased with your MB experience last week. I love all of the options you have(veggies, and lots of proteins). I think the dinner prices are a bit too expensive. I mean, almost 20 bucks for a good not great meal and no drinks just doesn’t cut it, IMO. And I heard a couple of people complain that their meal was overdone on the grill. Service and dining room were good enough, and, overall, we had a nice time!

Awesome. One of the best inventions since sliced bread. You get to pick everything: the meats, tge veggies and the sauce. We liked it so much the first time we became Mongo Club members. Now we both get free meals on our birthdays. Now they offer unlimited on your birthday, but in order to take your second bowl home you have to pay $ 2.99. Still worth it. Just like always, we started something. The place only had about 10 tables when got here and now it is packed. Twenty-five plus tables including a huge party of about 15 – 20. Today they even had a clown, she was making ballon animsls, etc… Since we are here for my birthday I got one… a minion. The cute one with one eye.
