I had Kee Wah Bakery booked marked, but did not plan to visit it. It just happened that the bakery was in the shopping strip that I was dining at, and we walked in. The bakery area for customers consists of your main star pastries along the sides of the wall, and in their cake show case. Kee Wah Bakery has an assortment of pastries similar to those that you would find at 85 C(I said similar, not the same). The couple of pastries that we purchased were okay. The cream filled bun we purchased was good. The angel cake was also okay. As my first visit, their customer service was cheerful and good. This is a place that I will definitely come back and try again to sample their other assortments of pastries.

I got lucky today w/their cream buns! I was even luckier to come by before 630pm and they restocked the last of their baked goodies! I always come here 10 minutes before closing(Shabu is next door) so I come here first before I go eat dinner. I always get surprised when I see a bakery like this around but walking inside disappoints me because the variety is very low… extremely low… maybe I’m better off visiting in the morning when all the breads are freshly baked but still… I didn’t even have a huge variety today… I’ll keep trying!

I was really disappointed with their sponge cakes because they had multiple eggshells in both of the ones I bought. I wouldn’t have thought the quality of their sponge cakes would be this bad because previous reviews stated that this bakery was great for their pastries and cakes. I thought these bakers would know how to crack eggs properly.

Only good Chinese bakery in the area besides the 99 Ranch Markets. But this is way cleaner, more upscale, of course. Great place for gift items like moon cakes and fresh pastries(try the roast pork pastries), birthday cakes that aren’t too sweet like Western ones. Be sure stop in the morning before they run out of the egg tarts and other goodies later in the day as they are quite popular!

Not gonna lie, I’m pretty surprised this place has positive reviews and a pretty good overall rating on Unilocal. The customer service really sucks… One time when I walked in it was super empty, I said«Hello»(definitely loud enough to hear) and the lady didn’t even turn her head. They also don’t take debit cards which is super inconvenient, since I don’t have a credit card and I don’t always have cash on me. I’ve gotten the crunchy bun and the egg tart, and neither were impressive. The crunchy bun was stale and bland. The egg tart crust was bland and too crumbly and the filling was lame. Overall, this place just isn’t the greatest. I’d much rather spend a little more and go to Tous Les Jours instead.

This is the most gracious way we were treated as far as customer service and customer satisfaction is concerned. We have never experienced anywhere such a very professional and generous manner in dealing for something as common as just getting a refund. To Jeff, Debbie, Nancy and all the great staff of this establishment, we are forever customers. Thank you very much for taking care of us and doing beyond what is expected.

Ordered Cake slices(Coffee, Chocolate, Vanilla), Taro ball, Green tea bread. Cake slices and Green tea bread slices taste good, but not really a big fan of their Taro or read bean ball. It seems that they did not really follow their schedule posted. The store were open after 8pm on some Saturdays while not on others. Very unpredictable.

I love these types of Asian bakeries! This one is smaller than the others I’ve been to previously but there’s some good stuff here. I’d agree to some of the previous reviews that some items are hit or miss but overall I was happy with the my treats :)

Came here to pick up some buns for the family but weren’t many options so ended up going else where. On top of few options they were expensive compared to other bakeries

Visited 4÷08÷16 Kee Wah Bakery: * bun collection: appeared less choice! and quality dropped below average ! Bun dough appeared too hard & paper tasted ! * Cake fridge display: lower rack stocked with Soda Can !!! WTH ! Cake choice like 4 – 5 displayed and much looked alike old Ranch 99 ! This is totally dissatisfied with the price cost !!!

Some items are a hit whiles others are a miss. If you come during the weekend, make sure to head there early because there won’t be anything left by the early evening. Hits: red bean paste buns are great, you can really taste the red bean paste. The coconut butterfly buns are also good. My favorite are their prepackaged butter egg rolls. Miss: I ordered half a dozen egg tarts and to my surprise, the crust has no flavor at all. Where’s the butter? The egg custard tastes very eggy and not sweet at all. For a Chinese bakery place, egg tarts are the sole item I base my entire experience on. As someone who is native to China, nothing will compare the egg tarts I had as a kid growing up. I’ve had better egg tarts in Stockton, and I drive 1 hour to this place to be disappointed. *Lavender pound cake was interesting. It smells like my laundry detergent but edible! It has real lavender pieces embedded in the cake.

When the fancy dim sum joint next door told us that the wait for a table would be 20 minutes or so, we decided to try Kee Wah Bakery as it was only a few doors away. The place is really tiny, but is tastefully decorated with beautifully packaged Asian pastries on display. From the outside, the establishment looks very inviting, if you can make your way in through the crowds. Kee Wah offers typical Asian baked goods and other not so typical Asian baked goods. What I do like is that everything is labeled in terms of bake time and shelf time, so that way you know what you are purchasing is fresh or not. Most of us can tell by tasting, but by that point, it’s too late. Some of the baked goods were bland and so-so, while others were quite nice. My favorites were the chicken pastry puff and the BBQ pork baked puff. I also have a piece of lavender pound cake that I have yet to try. I will update my review to reflect my experience with the lavender pound cake if it is noteworthy.

I was spending the afternoon with my mom and she had received some gift certificates here, so we decided to check Kee Wah Bakery out. It was a Saturday afternoon and the parking lot was PACKED, mostly from people not knowing how to drive and getting stuck in the middle of lanes than from no available spaces. Once we safely parked after a few close calls we walked in to the bakery. It was packed as well! It was around 12−1pm, so a good amount of their selection was gone, but we each picked out some pastries. I opted for the sweet ones, coconut cream and pineapple, while my mom picked out some pork buns and savory pastries. I enjoyed my pineapple pastry the most. The coconut cream one was good as well but I wish the coconut flavor was stronger as it could’ve passed for a plain flavor. The line was pretty long but the staff did their best to keep it moving quickly. The cashier was quiet but rang up our order with no problem and then we were on our way. If I come back I’ll make sure to come earlier in the morning or on a weekday when it is less crowded.

Small, Asian bakery located on the first-floor of a moderate-sized, two-story shopping plaza on Dublin Blvd. The plaza gets a lot of traffic and seems to have many Asian businesses and eateries. Parking is available via the parking lot shared with the neighboring stores, but be forewarned that this plaza gets busy, especially during the weekends. They offer freshly made Asian pastries, individually wrapped cookies and treats, as well as small, refrigerated cakes. Most pastries are available on a self-serve basis. Prices were reasonable, flavors were alright, but service was slow. Would’ve appreciated a bit more variety with faster service.

This is the place for ***pineapple buns***. Half their shelves are stored with these«crunchy buns» because they make them best! They’re $ 1.75 each and fairly large. Toast them in your mini convection oven for even better results.(And no, there isn’t actually pineapple in this bun. I’m assuming it’s named after the texture of the sweet crust that makes it look like a pineapple.) YES’S: Napoleon pastry. Keep them in the fridge since it has sweet cream between the crispy layers of pastry and ground almonds. So good you’re going to drool! Dried pork buns. The dried pork is usually* coated on top and glued to the bread via pork fat. Instead, this one stuffs the bread with dried pork on the inside. Chinese rice krispies. I’m not sure what they’re actually called but if they look like a square block of brown sugar rice krispies stuck together by chewy molasses then that’s the one. $ 4 NO’S: BBQ pork buns. Seems impossible to mess up since they’re the alpha of the buns in every Chinese bakery, but Don’t get them here. Marble pound cake. Dry. Good if you like the taste of butter. $ 1.75 a slice.

We love the bread and cookies at this bakery. We go to this branch and the one in Cupertino. The bread are a little pricey, but I guess you pay for the good bread and the presentation. I am comparing it to other Chinese bakeries that are not as fancy, in design. But also provide good quality bread for half or 1⁄3 the cost. Nonetheless, this bakery is a great place to get good tasting bread, cookies, and pastries.

Kee Wah, could u please tell me what is that yellow long thing in the coffee cream cake I bought yesterday(10÷15÷15) around 7:00 pm? Jennifer — thanks for your response. i definitely wudnt mind coming back to show u what i discovered in the cake but however I’ve already thrown away the cake n the strange yellow long thing that was inside the cake. perhaps, u can check around the kitchen n store to see if there’s anything similar to it. Thanks.

I’m an out-of-towner and came here at 6PM last Friday night. It was my first time in the shopping center. Actually I came for dinner nearby, but eyed this place… a bakery opened this late. Yah! Lovin the hours, they stayed open until 9PM. For the time of day, they still had fresh BBQ pork buns, crunchy buns, hot dog baos, and cocktail buns in the slide out drawers. Plus various bean cakes, shortbread, and cookies pre-wrapped on the counter. And they had refrigerated fruit basket cakes(angel food or chocolate versions) in the case. To sum it up, they had enough inventory to hurt my wallet. The décor was clean, modern, and chic. The baked good were visually appetizing and well displayed. It’s self serve. So you take a tray, line it with parchment paper(if you want, I did), take a set of tongs, and go at it. I love that they don’t have communal tongs. It’s much more sanitary this way. The prices are clearly marked on everything; but mind you the prices are more expensive than the average Asian bakery. To check out, you get in line at the counter to pay. They take cash or credit. They have some clerks that speak Mandarin, Cantonese, English, and/or all of the above. The two that assisted me that night were nice enough. One gal was a trainee, she only spoke English which was totally fine by me. I have to say she was doing great considering the snottiness of some of the customers she rang up. Kudos to her. The odd thing here is that they don’t box your items. They individually wrap them in plastic baggies and then place the baggies in a bigger plastic bag. Ohhh, how I do love the look and feel of a pink cardboard bakery box… oh well. It’s 2015… plastic it is. Well, I bought a crunchy bun, cocktail bun(my fave), couple of BBQ pork buns, red bean paste cookie, and almond cookies. When I got home I broke into the cookies – tasty. But those are special treats due to the prices, nearly $ 2 each and they were the sizes of Oreos. Yikes. The next day I microwaved(I know… shame on me) the BBQ pork bun and cocktail bun… loved them. Even in their altered state, I found them to be delicious. The filling to bread was right on to my liking. The bread had a lightness to it. The pork was of quality and shredded/cut well.

I don’t go to Dublin very often, but if I’m in the area, I’d recommend a stop here for some delicious azn cakes and pastries. Good bbq pork buns and the crunchy bun is also excellent. Went in the morning so the selection was solid, but if you go later, there’s always the chance they’ll run out. Eat the same day!

Kee Wah is one of my favorite Chinese bakeries, with a good variety of buns, pastries, and cookies. I find their selections better than Sheng Kee(common in 99 Ranch). My favorite pastry is the Cocktail Bun, but I only get it at Wonder Bakery in Oakland. Our most recent visit at Kee Wah resulted in some really good desserts to go — a red bean bun that looked like something you’d find in a European bakery and a coconut bun shaped like a butterfly. Both were really good, especially after microwaving for 15 seconds.
