It’s nothing compared to the other rocky Mountain locations. The apples don’t look up to par and they have less flavors. U also have to wait in to slow cold stone line to be served.

Ohmygoodness. First, I have had the chocolate covered strawberries from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Stoneridge Mall, and they are beyond delicious, with rich tasting chocolate. So I decided for Easter, as a special treat, I would order the chocolate covered strawberries from here, because this location was open on Easter and the mall location was not. The chocolate on the strawberries tasted like NOTHING. They were completely tasteless. I’ve never had chocolate that didn’t taste like chocolate before. They tasted nothing like the chocolate covered strawberries from the mall location! Second, Louis, who took my order over the phone a few days before, said that I could choose toppings on the strawberries at no additional charge. So I ordered 6 with a graham cracker topping, 6 with a sprinkle topping, and 6 as plain chocolate. I got all 18 as plain chocolate — no toppings! Of course, I didn’t notice this until I got home so it was too late for me to drive back to complain. Third, the mall location charges $ 19.95 per lb for chocolate covered strawberries. The girl working there said I could get 15 strawberries for under $ 30(so roughly $ 2 a strawberry). This location inside Cold Stone in Dublin charges a whopping $ 2.99PERSTRAWBERRY! So I paid over $ 60 after tax for 18 chocolate covered strawberries that were missing toppings and tasted like garbage! I couldn’t believe this was the same company that operates out of the mall. I don’t know if being inside Coldstone Chemicals has anything to do with it, but I will never, ever be purchasing from this RMCF again. Stay away!

It’s Coldstone! Not the cheapest ice cream but the tastiest!

Good stuff but on the expensive side– that is somewhat to be expected in Pleasanton though. I found the staff fairly friendly. The chocolate taste is not for everyone but is an improvement over mass produced offerings.

I’ve been to this location twice and both times I’ve had different experiences. Different, but good experiences. First off, this is the ONLY place that sells caramel apples and SLICES their apples :) On my first visit, one of the guys working at the coldstone counter asked if we needed assistance and I got the Oreo caramel apple. He also sliced my apple with their handy-dandy apple slicer. What kind of normal person eats their decorated caramel apples by just biting into them? Ever since my first apple-sclied experience here, I guess I’ve been spoiled because I like the convenience of an already sliced caramel apple. Less of a mess around my mouth and ease of eating :) I love their apples here, and they’re reasonably priced. On my second visit, I got an older hispanic gentleman who spoke very little english, and used a knife to slice my apple. Am I way too particular at this point by saying that I like the handy-dandy apple slicer that they normally use? Maybe I just felt bad for him because he could’ve gone through less trouble to slice the apple. It looked like he was having a hard time using the knife. Or maybe I’m just a spoiled princess. Overall, good apples :) And I like to bring my big purse, because they package the apples to-go in one of their coldstone ice cream cups and lid. I like to sneak the apple in when I see a movie. Shh, don’t tell anyone.

This is very disappointing! The only reason I dropped by here today was because I was in the area and based on other reviews left by other Unilocalers below, I decided to give Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory a try and this is my very first time visiting this place too. When I walked in, I saw a Hispanic man and a woman, but neither of them greeted me and the woman, she just kept starring at me with no smile. As I browsed around their Caramelized Apples glass case, I noticed how some had a permanent price tag listed on the front such as the Cheesecake Apple was priced at $ 6.25 whereas the Worm and Dirt Apple didn’t have a price tag shown any where. How strange. The lady was standing on the other side of the glass case when I looked at her and I said, «I would like the Cheesecake apple.» She asked me, «Would you like me to cut the apple?» I said, «Yes.» Then, I asked for, «Worm and Dirt apple one to go also.» She asked me, «Do you want this one cut too?» I said, «Sure,» but she informed me that if she cuts the apple that if I’m not eating them right away that the apple can turn brown and won’t be edible later.” I thought about it for a sec and said, «Perhaps, leave the 2nd one uncut and cut the 1st one, but both to go.» This is when things got«weirder,» when it came time to check out. The lady went over to the register, she came back, giving me this weird look and said, «Your total is $ 33.34.» I was like, «33.34!!!. Wha. ttt?» She then, went back to the register to figure it out, but I don’t think that lady knew exactly what she was even doing. How can(1) Cheesecake Apple and(1) Worm and Dirt Apple come out to $ 33.34? I don’t get it. The lady, she began to speak to her colleague or husband in Spanish because English wasn’t clearly her or their first language, which was fine, but I couldn’t understand neither of them. At the very end, my real grand total came out to $ 14.25, but the lady, she said, «$ 14.25IS still expensive as she looked at me.» I wasn’t sure if that was suppose to be bad or good? Like, the way I heard it, I felt like, «She was criticizing me for buying such an expensive treat, but at the same time was shocked that I could afford such a treat too,» is the kind of vibe I got from her body language and the way she spoke to me because like I said at the beginning of my review, «Neither her or the guy smiled and they looked really mean on the outside.» And, I’ve met friendlier people from their same Ethnicity in the past so that was my reasoning. Other Chocolates in their display case looked fresh(I hope), but the 3 – 4 Chocolate Fudge assortments in their separate plastic display case, which resembled banana bread loaves — those? They looked really old and dried up around the corners. I don’t think I have seen old Chocolate fudge being sold at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory before. At least, not the way I seen them being sold like that. I was afraid to come home with an old Cheesecake Apple, but I ate it already and it was good. I will have to try the Worm and Dirt Apple a little later today, but I’m hoping it is as good as the Cheesecake Apple one. Wait and behold. I took the Worm and Dirt Apple to indulge in the nice warm, sunny day that we are having on a Friday afternoon and this is very insulting to me! First of all, my son got all excited when he found 2 gummy worms(green/white and orange/red), but I eat first(nibble) before I give things to my son to avoid food poisoning and these gummy worms were rock hard and obviously old since they were discolored in white powder like. As I try to cut through the Apple, I actually had to push down harder to cut through and I was hoping to enjoy this Apple that costed me $ 7+ and when I took a nice big bite and started chewing — I couldn’t understand why — instead of tasting the sweet Granny apples instead I was tasting bubbling flavored like the first sip you have when you drink a carbonated soda type taste. The Cheesecake Apple didn’t taste like this so wouldn’t it be strange that Worm and Dirt Apple did taste like this? I am SO pissed right now! I thought about taking this one back, but I wouldn’t want to be complaining over a $ 7+ item if you know what I mean? Plus, gas prices is expensive as it is. This bites. Just looking at the case of old, dried up Chocolate Fudge should have given me a «Red Flag.» And, this lady should have known which Apples were fresh and which Apples were decaying. This is terrible. Now, I understand why, she stopped me from having her cut the Worm and Dirt apples at the very last minute. Don’t expect me to come back here.

Not sure why this RMCF location has their own Unilocal page since it’s really part of Coldstone Creamery, but I guess I’ll express my joy on this page instead since I’m not a fan of Coldstone ice cream whatsoever. Recently, the RMCF store in the Stoneridge Mall was closed down and I thought my dreams had been crushed forever. The next closest one would be in San Jose and that’s just too far to drive for a caramel apple(albeit the best I’ve ever had!). Being the curious cat that I am, I randomly decided to check the RMCF website and Unilocal to see if there were any locations a bit closer than SJ and to my surprise there is! It turns out there’s a franchaised location inside the Coldstone Creamery by the Hacienda Movie Theater. I wouldn’t have ever figured this out since I don’t step foot into Coldstone’s. Now that I’ve discovered this hidden gem I will definitely be a repeat customer, but only for the RMCF products! If you haven’t ever tried one of their decadent apples then now is the time. They have a buy 3 get 1 free deal going on right now too(limit of 4 free apples)! Since I was already planning on getting one for myself and my best friend I just went ahead and got the extra 2 to pass out to a couple of lucky coworkers of mine [:

3 words: nom, nom, nom… Oh, sorry. Let me just wipe the drool off real quick.(pause) Ok, I’m good! :) We stumbled upon this place a few weeks ago and had to do a double take. Rocky Mountain inside of Coldstone??? You must be mad! Well, crazy or not, it’s an idea that seems to work. We ordered the Caramel Snickers apple. That alone should say it all. A caramel apple, smothered in Snickers pieces, drizzled with chocolate. Yowzah. My sweetie commented that it wasn’t quite as caramel-y as he would’ve liked, but I think that’s just his insatiable sweet tooth talking. They have other confections that most other locations have. Although, I don’t think they have the chocolate-dipped banana or chesecake. If they did, they didn’t advertise it well enough. And yes, if they did, they would’ve been in my belly, too. :D No doubt in my mind that we’ll be repeat customers…
