After a very disappointing visit in Conyers, I determined Sonny’s was not worth my time. Today I found myself with a group that chose to stop at Sonny’s in Dublin, GA for dinner — so I opted not to be contrary and went along.
Different location — almost same result. Décor was still pitiful (they should fire their designer today). The food was extremely average at best and certainly not a place I will visit on my own.
The only difference was that the server at this location was good. Charity was attentive and efficient and she was the lone bright spot in this visit.
As before, if you want BBQ in Georgia there are too many good choices to waste your time at Sonny’s.
***Update to review…15 minutes after leaving Sonny’s I had to force the bus driver to pull over and I disappeared into the woods to get violently ill. Never happened before and I am only adding this because I’m angry!

Just do not come here We’ve given this place chance after chance and services is hit or miss. ALWAYS run out of things sweet potatoes and some of the «sides» you can def tell they have been sitting up for awhile. Beans were mushy and the potato salad was so bad we couldn’t even eat it. The managers do not care trust me we talked to them. I don’t complain and I’m not picky but just giving my opinion Go if you want you’ll waste your money and on the toilet all night !!! This will be last time going to ANY Sonnys The reviews are bad everywhere. On a positive note we had the sweetest waitress the last time but still not enough for us to come back.

After they stopped smoking their meat the traditional way and went to the gas with chunks of wood added as needed, I stopped going. I got a buy one get 2 free dinners and I could not pass it up. I ordered ribs and it was pretty good for gas smoked. The rub had a good amount of salt and I drank more water than normal but over all it was good. I could go back but need a good coupon like I had to do so.

In town for 3 days on business. Wanted Bar-​B-​Q. Sonny’s is usually pretty good. I like whole, dry rubbed pork ribs, not the St. Louis cut they now offer. Ordered a rack and sides. The rack the server delivered was dried out and obviously been sitting in a warmer for hours. I told the girl «These ribs are disgusting». If they don’t have fresh ribs, I will order something else. She came back with a suggestion of ribs with sauce on them. Told her no sauce just fresh ribs or none. I guess the cook got the picture and sent out the fresh cooked rack he should have sent first instead of trying to get rid of an old rack. The meal turned out to be good after all and the server did all she could to please.
