Super 8 Dublin

Room nasty. Stains on carpet. Room smelled. And bugs on the wall. Paint and dry wall coming off walls. Worst ever.
Asked for refund. No way where we staying on this mess.

Via its website, I filed a complaint about the Super 8 Dublin on 7÷14÷15. On 7÷15÷15, I received a call from the manager of this motel. We discussed my 7÷3÷15 stay. During our discussion, I mentioned the negative Unilocal reviews that have been posted here. In particular, I cited Kathleen C’s review and the photographs of the bed bugs.
I was given a $ 30 refund for my ⁷⁄₃ night’s lodging.

Staying at this Super 8 was a sucky-​one-​nighter-​at-​a-​motel experience.
The price, considering the condition of the room my husband I paid for, was overpriced — $ 80 for two persons for one night!
After checking-​in, my husband and I were told that the Wi-​Fi wasn’t working.
The remote for the HDTV was programmed incorrectly. For example, instead of getting the Inspiration Network, I got FOX News.
Both of the ice machines were out of order. My husband went on an ice hunting expedition.
The bathroom was inadequate. The shower curtain had no vinyl liner to tuck inside the bathtub; as a result, the fabric curtain had mold stains. The towels and wash cloths were threadbare and dingy. The sink faucet was leaking. The wall above the bathroom door showed evidence of an incomplete paint job. The toilet backed-​up and wouldn’t flush; my hubby had to find a maintenance person to get a plunger to unclog it.
Note to Wyndham Worldwide: Get this Super 8 functioning decently or close it.

During my 2 night stay at the super 8 in Dublin 2 very upsetting incidents occurred. I had left $ 17 on my night stand as I went out for the day and upon returning to my room 3 hours later the money was gone. I went to the front desk and explained that it may have been seen as a tip, but that was not my intention. All the staff insisted they had not taken it, but I know it was left there.
The second incident was the next morning. I awoke to find a bed bug crawling on the underside of my quilt. I have a picture, but I don’t see a way to post it here. When I told the person at the front desk she was not phased by this news, which leads me to believe that this is not new news. The bed bug was an adult so it had clearly been there a while.

I arrived after a long drive and entered the lobby to a sauna. It was at least 90 degrees and the lady behind the counter was sweating profusely. I inquired and she said they will not fix the a/​c. She gave me my room number and told me the room was all the way behind the building. After a long walk we found that the room was behind the office so had to go move vehicle. The carpet in halls is filthy. The room is dated, but comfortable. The towels are old and very rough. Overall not quality for the price. I will most likely not stay at this Super 8 again. I called the desk asking how to access the wifi. I was given a password that did not work and was told, «I don’t know what to tell you keep trying.»

Very nice staff, clean room and very comfy beds and linens. The room was spacious and even had a desk and fridge. Biggest pro was free wifi, and biggest con was having to walk through the hall of smoking rooms. The smell was pretty putrid. Overall though, I would definitely stay here again.

For a cheap over night stay this was ok. For the most part it was clean. Breakfast was unhealthy, as most of these places are.
The worst part and why Im giving low rating is because we asked for NON SMOKING and our room plus maybe 1 or 2 other were in the same hallway as the smoking rooms. It smelled horrible and I had to cover my nose everytime I walked out. Gross.
