Bad attitude! The staff asked me for more tip! And I don’t think their service is good either!

Overall i like the korean food there more than the chinese. Only thing is that they’re not consistent with taste. Probably just different chefs, so its hit or miss. Chap jae, spicy seafood noodle soup, black noodles are all good.

A diamond in the rough. This is really good asian food, with all the secret clues in place: Strange location in the corner of a strip mall parking lot, no-nonsense workers, sudden service, brightly lit, very little ambience, low prices, and mostly asian customers. The Korean stuff is excellent, but everything I’ve had here is wonderful. This place is about obtaining really good, no frills food. You won’t be sorry.

I got the black bean noodles here since it seems like one of the most popular items. Sadly I was disappointed in it because of the lack of flavor :(It really didn’t taste that great. I would probably not come back again unless someone convinced me to try some other dish here.

Black bean noodles! Just do it. Best you can get in this area.(Side note: I used to enjoy the black bean noodles from Hung’s in San Ramon) but I’m definitely more partial to this place. Especially for the price! Seafood noodle soup is just ok. Everything else is mediocre.

Came in for Sunday dinner. and I should have left seeing how empty it was. I’ve found that it’s pretty hard to get Chinese-Korean fusion wrong but I was in for an unpleasant surprise here. Specifically, this place was so darn stingy it ruined any potential good thing about this place, and I’m usually pretty happy with most places as long as I don’t get food poisoning. If I’m paying more for seafood, I better see a bigger difference from the original than 3 minuscule bites of shrimp in the«seafood» jja jjang myun. Another thing. the jja jjang myun sauce for both the pork and seafood versions were so chock full of onion, most of which tasted raw, it felt like eating a chopped onion salad with a side of the black bean dressing and of course barely any discernible pieces of pork or seafood. The ganpoongki chicken(spicy deepfried chicken) was a huge disappointment – pitifully tiny pieces of meat, the size of jelly beans really, slathered in batter. I’m a fan of popcorn chicken. but this was not comparable. Never coming back again. There are much better places in Dublin that serve the same exact dishes but with better ingredients, a cleaner location, and bigger portions for the same price. Service is okay and the food didn’t taste horrible but that ain’t good enough. Bye bye Yu Yu.

I came here with my mom before the lunch was over. We arrived around 2:55 p.m. and they let’s in. That was really nice of them to do that. They are known for the jaja myun and jam pong noodle dishes. We ordered those and a vegetable mapo tofu. The mapo tofu was delicious and as for the 2 noodle dishes, it was SALTY to our liking. I couldn’t eat that much because of the sodium. Overall, it’s okay place to eat!

I probably drove by YuYus a hundred times and never stopped in because I thought it was just another Chinese restaurant. But then someone told me that the owner was Korean and that the there was a secret Korean menu on the back. Secret menu + Korean = Must try Pro Tip — Go straight for the Korean menu and try some common Korean specialties. Pro Tip2 — Use the provided noodle shears liberally. Musts Za Zang Myun — Long noodles with a thick black bean sauce and bits of pork and bell peppers. The sauce comes in a separate bowl, and do NOT be scared of the resemblance to something from La Brea, as it is thick and dark enough to entrap a saber toothed tiger. The sauce itself it is actually fairly mild, but it does come loaded with nearly raw onions. Pour this over the noodles, mix and share. So tasty and will make you feel like you’re back in Korea. Zam Pong — This is another common lunch in Korea and comes loaded with long noodles. The spicy red broth and shrimp and squid had my Unilocal Elite friend sweating and wiping his brow. Very tasty concoction and good for sharing. Décor — Simple and aged with big round tables and lots of glass. We went for lunch and there was only Koreans in the restaurant and no wait. Service was fine. Will need to mine the rest of the secret menu on a future trip. Korean menu

Service is fine, and the food is good. Not crazy authentic for those who look for that, but a lot of places get it wrong. Yu Yu does a pretty good job. But to mention, the quality can be a bit inconsistent. I usually get the classic jjajjangmyun and jjambong combo, but what I love the most is the tangsooyuk, which is fried meat with sweet and sour sauce on the side. I order it to-go once every two weeks when I’m around there. My favorite indeed. Tangsooyuk makes it 4 stars, the other food draw out to 3 stars.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Something either happened with the chef or owner or both bc this place has slumped since I’ve eaten here over the past 4 – 5 years. I thought this place was going to replace Mandarin Village(the OG go-to chinese food spot back in the day) but it’s far from that. When you sit down you’re supposed to get the pickled vegetable and onion and black sauce and for some reason we had to ask for it while the other three tables that sat after us were provided with it immediately. In addition I had to ask for both the pickles and the onions on separate occasions. And when she first dropped off the pickled vegetable I asked for the onions and she said«oh you want onion too?» Maybe ask if I wanted onions and the pickled vegetable from the start? So rude and just felt very disrespected. Yeah it’s just a couple little things but why did we have to go out of our way to get what we’re supposed to? Had to fight for napkins and bowls and anything extra to what they initially brought to the table. We ordered a soup(3 guests), and they brought 2 bowls and 3 plates assuming we’d use the bowl with the soup in it as the third bowl. Again trying to conserve and presumably have less dishes to do at the end of the night. This concept was applied to the rest of the tables and each one, including ours, asked for the extra bowl or two. The«jumbo seafood» noodle soup is no longer is a staple as it came with 3 shrimps and one clam in a large order. Chicken with string beans wasn’t even chicken and one of the pieces was still pink. Maybe we ordered the wrong things but honestly Panda Express would have been better than what we ate tonight. All in all, food is food but I will never come back to Yu Yu’s and would not recommend it to others Edit: After eating, spoke with another waitress, and they indeed changed owners one year ago. In addition, the waitress explained that chinese people usually don’t like raw food(the raw onions and pickled vegetables) so they don’t bring it to chinese guests. However Koreans get them without asking because they typically enjoy raw foods. She legit explained this to us and my family and I were shocked and aggravated. Like I said, never coming back and never recommending this establishment to anyone.

Im going to say its an ok place. The meals were a little lacking in flavor, just a bit bland for my taste. Huge portions. I also don’t usually have a problem with texture and food, but the sweet and sour soup was sooooo thick and slimy, I couldn’t do it. I’ll go back and try something else, but it won’t be my first suggestion.

This place was okay, I know it says it’s a Chinese restaurant and it’s got Korean words on the sign, but it’s definitely more of a fusion. No complaint here. Would come here again for their zha zhang myun, it’s pretty good noodles and the sauce is okay. More Korean-styled than Chinese, but I don’t mind. Dumplings were a bit undercooked.

Looks like owners have changed since I last ate here. There are more Shanghainese items on the menu as well. I got the #1 Za zang mien(black bean noodle) and it was just OK. Instead of the traditional cubes of pork, it’s just bits of ground pork(cheap). The sauce was also a bit bland. It’s a big portion though and you probably won’t be able to finish it unless you’re super hungry and/or willing to stuff yourself. It doesn’t get too busy during lunch hours but it’s the only Chinese-Korean restaurant I know of in the area.

Followed Daniel C. review to Yu Yu for some Korean Style Za Zhang Mein(Yu Yu restaurant spelling). We arrived around 1:30 pm the restaurant was about half full. The menu has Chinese dishes and some Korean items. The waitresses were all Chinese. We ordered the following: Korean Style Za Zhang Mein 3 stars the noodles were cooked perfectly the sauce was just sauce just bits of pork and strands of onions. XLB4 stars the dumplings were good the meat inside was a little tough and hard. Pork and pickled mustard green Noodle soup. 3.5 stars toppings are sparse. Ba Bao Fan 4 stars dessert was done in purple Korean rice. Not too sweet . Service was excellent, décor is minimal, plenty of parking.

Located in a strip mall across the street from Shalimar, this little restaurant has an interesting, broad menu of Chinese and Korean dishes. They had various Chinese rice plates, dumplings, and noodle dishes listed on most of the menu. The last page however, was their Korean dishes which was our target. We got their black bean noodles and their spicy seafood noodle bowls, along with an order of their XLB. It was funny how they leave shears at each table — they are for cutting the noodles since they’re so long! Black Bean Noodles was very good — noodles were long and smooth, with good chewiness. Their sauce looked intimidating since it looks like black tar, but its pretty mild and savory. They use lots of onions and a small amount of ground pork. Spicy seafood noodle had only a few pieces of shrimp, and also had real smooth and chewy noodles. Broth had a nice kick that lingers for a while. XLB were ten per order and surprisingly juicy despite their larger size. I could have sworn they had 2x the pork filling of those we had at Hungs Kitchen and Din Tai Fung. Well executed dish. Will definitely want to come back to try their other offerings. They have good variety of dumplings and Korean-style noodle dishes that we typically don’t see in Chinese places.

I have been craving Jja Jang Myun and Tang Su Yuk for so long and because of the mixed review I was hesitant to try this place, but what a big mistake! This place is pretty good! Their noodles have the perfect texture and their sauce taste amazing! Sometimes it can taste too salty or greasy but nope it was very much to our liking! Tang Su Yuk was also not too bad the chicken was a little greasy but the sauce helped to cut it down! Perfect combination! I just wish they would fix their sign as at night you can’t see it and we almost missed it! But if you are looking for an authentic Jja Jang Myun place, this is the place to come to!

Lacking Korean food, I jumped at the chance for the closest I could get while I was visiting Pleasanton. Hearing good things about Yu Yu, I decided to stop by to satisfy my jjajangmyun craving. My friends and I all ordered the regular jjajangmyun and it was okay. Definitely not as good as what I’m used to having in LA but it was decent enough. I see a lot of reviews saying it was salty but it was kind of bland to me. It wasn’t as flavorful and rich as it should be. The portions are huge, though, and if you’re not starving, it could easily be two servings. The service was also decent, not super friendly, but they get the job done. If I was ever back in Pleasanton, it probably wouldn’t be my first choice but I wouldn’t be against stopping by.
