All Things Sweet Shoppe

Visited All Things Sweet a couple times earlier this year and purchased cupcakes each time. Both times, they were really dry, almost like they were many days old. I figured it was just my luck the first time, but the second time it was the same. I would understand if it was a secondary-​type product, but this is their claim to fame and they charge as such.
I love patronizing small, local businesses, so I will try it again, but not with the same high hopes.

I really loved this place. I would sneak and buy me 2 or 3 cupcakes while my boyfriend was away at work and eat them. These cupcakes are really good. Unfortunately, the owner has decided to close the shoppe down. This place will be missed.

We used All Things Sweet Shoppe for our wedding and it was a big hit! Everyone loved the cupcakes and Jen made our experience extremely easy and pleasant. I definitely recommend them for a wedding or just a sweet treat!

All Things Sweet and Jen made cupcakes for our wedding at the Grand River Center and it was amazing. Our guests loved it and so did we. They were delicious and Jen made the entire experience so easy and seamless for us. They delivered the cupcakes to our venue and setup and tore down the displays for us as well. They were an amazing addition to our day! I would go back here any time!

We used All Things Sweet for our wedding at the Grand River Center and were greatly impressed. I created a candy table and the cupcakes fit perfectly and looked amazing. We live in Chicago, where there are amazing cupcake stores everywhere, so we have high expectations when it comes to cupcakes. Jen was so easy to work with and she squeezed us in, even though she already had a few other weddings that day.
We had a chocolate chip cookie dough that had cookie dough in the middle and a chocolate cheesecake that also had a filling. Both were super fresh and delicious.
The food at the reception was awful so it was a great relief to have these amazing cupcakes. Thank you for making the process stress free and exceeding our expectations.

From the owner to treats are devine! I no longer live in Dubuque, but order here as gifts for special occasions for family that live in town. When I am in town always make a stop here! Wish this place was open when growing up in Dbq. The treats always hit when I give as a gift!

Bought a HUGE cupcake for a birthday surprise. Very cute, tasty and made my grandmother-in-law’s day! Would be back more often if I lived in the area.

I was very excited to google a bakery in Dubuque and find one with such a high rating. I click on their website and am intrigued by their many cupcake flavors and sugary concoctions. Mouth watering, I place the call to order/​reserve a dozen cupcakes for the weekend.
And this is where it all falls apart. I call to place the order (mind you… its Wednesday) to be told that they are just too busy to accept orders. Wait… I’m sorry… did I call the wrong business? Are you not a bakery? Instead of asking what I was looking for or asking me if I could pick them up on a different day… say Friday instead of Saturday… I was told no. I was also told that they really don’t take orders for the weekend. Hmmm… Might be nice if you would state that on your website.
Wow…pretty shocked that a business that relies on sales of goods wouldn’t ask questions to see if they could make the sale. Just very poor customer service and in the end lost out on any possible business in the future! There loss… not mine!

Nice folks, loved the location, but dry flavorless cake and uninspired fillings and icing.

Amazing, moist, and cheap cupcakes! A relative told me about this place and I’m so glad I made a stop! These cupcakes are absolutely delicious and moist! I had the coconut cupcake and it was just the right amount of sweet! The cupcake was only $ 2.00 and where I’m from they go for $ 5.00! A must stop!

I’ve been wanting a cupcake since learning about the cupcake ATM… and this place fit the bill. A lot of flavors to choose from, and my family (3 of us) each chose a different one and shared (a little). I’m looking forward to trying the lavender cupcake when it’s next available.
The only thing I was expecting with the décor, though, was for it to be brighter and lighter… and to showcase the cupcakes more so. It’s an odd thing to expect, and didn’t detract from our visit…
Now I want to go back. They open in five minutes!!!

Located inside a renovated house, All things sweet was a place we were excited to find. We sauntered in on our way to the Fourth street elevator, just after lunch. The array of cupcakes and CAKE DOTS were pretty impressive. Cupcakes were solid w/​a good number of flavors and the cake dots (Small icing covered cake bites) were spectacular! We had both chocolate and lemon cake dots, and neither disappointed. Delicious inside and out, with just enough to satisfy the sweet tooth, but not enough to make Mom upset that you ruined your dinner.
They carried more cookie cutters than I’ve seen at more specialty kitchen stores and had a good number of other small kitchen pleasantries that make you want to go bake something. Employees are very helpful and extremely nice.
Only thing that would make these guys better is an expanded array of cake dots, but as is, it’s definitely worth stopping in and checking the place out.
Bottom line — This is one legit spot to stop in for some culinary treats that will complete any afternoon that requires just a bit more sugar!

AMAZING banana cream pie!

The first stop on our journey in Dubuque was this small pastry shop. Originally we were just going to get change for our parking meter, but we were immediately greeted by the polite staff (who were also the owners) and noticed that they had a nice shop to look around in. They have a pretty good selection of pastries, along with some unique beverage choices (I got a glass coke bottle which always tastes extra good and adds a little fun to what you’re doing). When you walk into the shop a little more you’ll find some homemade jars of jam, pickles, chili, BBQ sauce, and other assortments which all appear to be mouthwatering. We just ended up getting snacks, but I was tempted to bring home some of the chili.
We had to use the bathroom there, and while it’s not an attraction I got a kick out of it because it was probably the tiniest bathroom I’ve ever been in.
They really have a good thing going here, and the folks are quite down to earth. Definitely worth a morning stop if you have a few minutes and conveniently located in the heart of downtown Dubuque
