I regret to say we went back and it was awful. Very awful. Had to have been a different cook or something.

I have come to The Point Café a few times now and it has always been great! Today I had lunch/dinner food for the first time. I started with a cup of their broccoli and cheese soup and it might be the best I have had to date. I ordered a pork Tenderloin Sandwich and fries. The fries were great! Lightly fried and lots of crunch. The sandwich was great as well. I tend to like mine a little thicker but it’s a good size with lots of flavor. The Point Café will be a place me and my lady will be coming to for years to come.

I was tempted to make it 5, but I try to reserve those for truly exceptional places. I just finished a great breakfast. The House Special, which included two thick pieces of french toast, two eggs, and a small handful of bacon, cost $ 8 with a cup of coffee. That included tax. The french toast was perfect. Thick slices of bread, but soaked all the way through with egg. Cooked fully with a golden crust. Perfection. The bacon was thick and not overcooked too. Service was prompt and courteous. Fake exposed brick décor is a little cliché, but nice. The theme is clear, and it makes this family restaurant feel a little more upscale. Overall, a great experience. So great I feel a little guilty not adding that 5th star. If I ever come back and try lunch or dinner, I might add it.

I’ve eaten breakfast at the point several times and I absolutely love the skillets they serve. Breakfast all day is a major plus. My boyfriend is a big fan of their country fried steak. The wait staff has been very friendly every time and I plan to go back many times.

If memory serves me right, they recently reopened under new ownership. 1st time eating here the other night, and won’t be going back. 1 star for the service(she was attentive and kind), and 1 star for the beef and cabbage soup. The menu consist of grease and gravy diner foods — which I love to soak up every now and then — and a breakfast menu that is served all day. I had the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. Despite all the grease that was used to cook the green peppers and onion, it was the most tasteless Philly Steak Sandwich I’ve ever had. I choose the hashbrowns with onions and cheese as a side. They were standard. He had the Roast Beef Open Faced Sandwich. The meat was tasteless and the entire plate was drowning in a dark burnt beef gravy that surely came from a tin can. The amount of gravy may be off putting to some, but not to my handsome sailor. But the taste, yeah… it was like the cellophane that must have been refrigerating the gravy for the last month, fell off into the gravy and melted to become part of the taste. In short, stay away from the lunch and dinner menu — maybe give the breakfast menu a whirl? Bar is closed. They have yet to receive their liquor license from the city. Shame really, they currently have a large piece of the restaurant’s real estate with a useless bar.
