Happened to fly early one morning from Dulles. Went there for breakfast. Most staff seems to be more interested in chatting between themselves than paying any attention to clients. I have to go and speak to the hostess who happens to be a server as well. I guess they double up and do whatever that is required. Food is so so. An average airport place but it is close to my departure gate, so it will do.

Good service unfortunately bad food. Tip– stick with beer and wine and you will be good to go! — guacamole is really a cheap guacamole spread that is out of an institutional can cut with mayonnaise. :(. Not expecting Mexico here but if you are going to sell it, make it taste good. — tortilla soup is mostly cheese queso with a little bit of chicken broth to make it soupy. Hmmm — after a few bites I’m just a bit afraid of the consequences. Since this is an airport restaurant — particularly important as we all get on our long flights! Lol

If you have food allergies, DONOTEATHERE! I ordered an Avocado Cobb salad with no blue cheese. The waiter brought out a salad full of blue cheese! I reminded him that I said no blue cheese… so he brought back out a salad that clearly had blue cheese scraped off of it. The waiter also never brought my drink that I ordered… I had to go to the bar to get my drink. Don’t bother eating here!

Bad food and bad service. Correction: dangerous food and horrid service. My fiancé and I went there before our flight and ordered a beer and a small meal. The first impressions were mediocre until my fiancé got to the middle of his chicken sandwich and realized it was severely undercooked. He made eye contact with the waiter and indicated we would like him to come over, the waiter brushed past him and continued to ignore him until we had to shout to get his attention after several minutes. He took the food back with a rushed apology, eventually brought the meal out and tried to give it to 2 other tables before it arrived at us. My fiancé cut open the sandwich and it was still extremely raw. Our waiter continued to ignore us forcing us to once again shout to him across the restaurant. We gave up any hope of him eating anything before our flight, they took off the inedible meal from the bill but didn’t offer any sort of consolation. Thank God he didn’t get food poisoning as we were flying all day to get to a funeral.

Food was good for airport food. Service was horrible. Had to ask for everything twice and couldn’t find our waitresses when we needed the check.

Got a simple breakfast with eggs, sausage, and potatoes. They weren’t busy. Sausage was cooked, but cold like it had been in the refrigerator and someone forgot to microwave it. The waitress was nice and brought new warm sausage, but it tasted funny, so I didn’t eat it.

This is nice airport restaurant. I had a cheeseburger; nothing fancy. But I was impressed they cooked it to order, medium as I requested. Pretty darn good burger. I didn’t have any beer, but the selection was solid, Great choice while waiting on a flight.

Great pasta! Service was excellent, fast, and affordable prices for the airport. Server was Anthony who did a great job and kept coming back to check on us. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan and it was so much that I couldn’t finish it, especially after my Ceaser salad. Definitely will go back!

Only reason why I gave 1 the food was ok and I have to. The service sucked! We are seated by some rude looking guy then we are given 1 breakfast menu. And there are 3 of us. Wth. Then the guy gives us some menus and takes the breakfast menu without saying anything. So I ask. Can we have the breakfast menu he then tells me breakfast is over. Eventually comes back to the table and tells us they can make something of breakfast like an omelet and that’s it. Wow. So I’m like whatever. And I order an appetizer the hubs and granpa order their lunch and it takes 20+ minutes for us to get our food. The guy doesn’t even tell us anything or check in with us about our food. We are the only order waiting why is it taking this long. We finish eating and he still doesn’t check back in. We have to ask for the check and we left a low tip. Never going back

Well first they got my order wrong… and then when they did bring it I got a fish square on a piece of stale bread. False advertising much? See pictures

Qualification A: I usually eat vegetarian. Qualification B: I only wanted a snack, so I ordered chips and guac. That said, nice job Max and Erma. What did you do, spray a bottle of Pam on the grocery store chips you bought? They were awful. I realized the gauc would come from a bag, and it did not disappoint. I guess if you don’t have a giant burger to mask the taste, then you actually realize how bad the stuff is. But I will take the blame for even ordering it. Bad me. And ONE vegetarian entrée in this day and age is atrocious. Bad you. I’d give this place one star. But, it’s in an airport, so, you know, I am going easy on them.

The people that work here are super nice and friendly. Calm, relaxed atmosphere. The food is good, I enjoyed the buffalo chicken salad, and the fries are great. They dont give you a hard time if you need to sit for a while waiting for a flight. Tables are close together… but I am from NYC, so I get that. I would head back if I find myself in the airport again.

If there was an option for no star I would chose it. Food had no taste, waiter(Milad) did his best to make us feel rushed, food runner brought us an unfinished item(and had us finish it ourselves), and my account was charged TWICE(maybe on purpose)! If the establishment doesn’t fix this problem I will never stop mentioning my bad experience there! My card company is already on it! Very, very inconvenient! And for a hospitality operation, very poor customer service…

Not a bad spot for an airport restaurant. They were very attentive and did their best to move as quickly as possible. I ordered a vodka and red bull which they poured through a metering device(boo!), but they gave me the rest of the can which was a first for any bar I’ve been at. I had their mushroom Swiss burger which I ordered medium rare. The patty looked a little squished, maybe they pressed it too hard on the flat top, but it came out at the right temperate and tasted good. It was comfortable and next to my gate, so there really isn’t much more I could ask for.

Didn’t eat here, just had a few beers. At the airport, you’re a captive audience so you don’t have a lot to pick from– their beer selection on draft was a little limited, but found something I could choke down before the flight. Service was a little on the grumpy side, but eventually warmed up. The guy next to me had the chili cheese fries– they looked OK, but not great.

Max & Erma’s looked like an appealing place for a sit-down breakfast while waiting for our morning American Airlines flight. The Dulles Airport location offers a full breakfast menu, unlike the non-airport locations. I ordered Erma’s Original Breakfast that included scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, sausage, and toast. My wife ordered an omelet. All very good. Filling, too, as we were not hungry for any sort of snack during the ensuing flight! Located in Midfield Terminal Concourse B at the American Airlines gates, Washington Dulles International Airport.

My husband and I grabbed a bite to eat here before a long flight overseas. I wanted a lighter meal so I ordered the apple pecan salad and my husband decided to order Texas Ranger burger. The salad was a nice size and was fresh. It even came with a breadstick which was a nice addition. The salad tasted like nothing spectacular but hit the spot. My husband’s burger was cooked to his liking and the fries were plentiful. The service was super slow but I guess I shouldn’t expect much from an airport location. We had to ask for many things like silverware, extra napkins, etc.

Stopped in to Max and Erma’s for a bite before our flight to CA. We decided to sit at the bar as we normally do at most establishments. The bartender was great — funny, personable and made a mean bloody mary. We decided to split a couple of dishes. We ordered the Aunt Patty which is like the grown up version of a patty melt with cheddar and swiss cheese, caramelized onions and 1000 island on grilled marble rye. It was really good. Lots of cheese, flavorful burger cooked medium as we requested, fresh bread crisped up just right. The accompanying fries were crisp and seasoned just right. This pick was a winner. Sadly our other pick, the tex mex egg rolls, was not. They had a somewhat odd flavor and they were not as crispy as we would have liked. But, the burger was more than enough for the two of us. Not a bad place to satisfy a burger craving before a long flight.

I was here for just long enough to eat a bowl of Tortilla Soup and it was great. Atmosphere seemed fine for a bar in a airport.
