If you have time to stop by Nukoa plaza for whatever purpose, whether it be billards, the NRB, or the cute shops nearby, take time to eat at A-Hyang! A solid 4-star restaurant located next to what used to be a Morning Glory, it is one of my favorite korean restaurants in the Duluth area… and as you might know, there are a multitude of korean restaurants in that city. If you do happen to stop by and favorite fried foods, try the Donkatsu! This fried meat is one of their specialties — they became well known through the Donkatsu’s tastiness. And if you happen to be extremely starving and have a bit of change to spare, you can upgrade this into the«Wang Donkatsu»(literally means King Donkatsu). Despite it being a favorite of numerous people, it is generally not really busy and it will be easy to find spots /have some quiet time. This place is more of a lunch /brunch — type place so it is good for eating with a small group. If you would like a casual 1 — on — 1 with somebody, this could easily be a nice place to have it. All in all, great and tasty place and would love to come back here again!

I have eaten here numerous times and it was always good, but today the food was so delicious. Perfect is what I would say. I ate the spicy korean noodle bibimnaengmyun and my lady had the bibimbap. I could eat this everyday during the spring and summer, especially when the weather gets hot.

A decent spot for solid, home-style Korean food. A-Huang has quite a few competitors, and it seems like they do a lot of things pretty well but not much in spectacular fashion. Their much-hyped gamjatang is tasty, but not something I expect to get cravings for the in the future. A star docked because the place has no ambience to speak of and had a kind of strange, sour-sweat smell that lingered in the background.

This is one of my favorite Korean restaurant in Duluth. There are two types of Asian restaurant. Super authentic(older generation like taste) & less authentic and fusion like taste(younger generation type). I like both styles of restaurants but all the food in ahyang is pretty good. There are lots of Korean restaurant that specialize on certain food(tofu soup, katsu etc) Even compare to those specialized restaurant, food in ahyang is comparably good for those dishes. It is not fancy and really easy going place but the foods are Seasoned well(not too salty) and service is great. Most of the Asian restaurants do not have good service, but not ahyang. Oh also, when you get the food to go(for pick up), they wrap up those side dishes for you as well. I thought that is very considerate and neat since most the Korean restaurant dont do that. Definitely one of my fav. Place to eat and get the food to go.

Yummy Korean food and a calm atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re eating a home cooked meal! The bachan was probably my favorite part! The kimchi was so yummy and not too sour and the eggs are so delicious! I had the bibimbap while my friend had the tofu stew, and I’d love to come back!

I still love this place food wise, but last time I came, I brought my boyfriend’s family raving about how amazing this place is… Only to be embarrassed by the service of the workers… They were not kind and acted very snobby… Then the bill came. iI’ve never been charged for rice for my meal before but apparently they charged it this time… I dont know. Maybe because a manager or the owner wasnt there that day, so the servers must have thought its okay to slack off.

The service was much better than before. I may have gone on a bad day or a slow day. I got the spicy squid($ 12) which was pretty good. You don’t as many pieces but it’s $ 6 cheaper than other places. The side dishes were again varied and good and refilled upon request.

Yummy Korean food where the meat, soup, and the banchan all hit the spot. A-Hyang is a Korean restaurant that is located in Nukoa Plaza, just north of Satellite Blvd on Steve Reynolds. The ambiance is casual and the food is moderately priced. Highlights: My favorite part of my meal was the LA Galbi ribs. The beef was sweet, tender, and very tasty. The variety of banchan offered was excellent for 2 people. We were served broccoli with gochujang, fishcakes, seasoned hard boiled egg, cucumbers, shaved potatoes, macaroni salad, and kimchi. I was pleasantly surprised that two people would get so many side dishes. The macaroni salad had little pieces of apple and the shaved potatoes came with little pieces of mushroom. I thought the hard boiled egg was well-marinated in its sauce. The Haemul Sun Tofu(seafood tofu stew) was also quite good. Plenty of tofu, an adequate amount of seafood(mostly clams), and the right amount of spice. Critiques: The servers were pleasant and friendly, but the service was a little slow when seated in the side room. Overall: I really liked my food. Also, I was happy that the restaurant is not cheap with the banchan when there’s a party of 2. I’ll be happy to come back here again.

I ate here with my mom, aunt, and uncle today and it was pretty tasty! I ordered the sun tofu stew(I think that’s it’s name) with seafood, similar to something you’d find at So Kong Dong. I asked for less spice, but when I received my soup, I almost started coughing due to how spicy it was– the people I was eating with agreed. However, it had nice flavor– the seafood was frozen, but that didn’t really affect my meal. The other people I was eating with ordered the fried pork cutlet and two bowls of this beef stew that had potatoes in it. They thoroughly enjoyed the other dishes, I tried the pork and really liked it! It was well-cooked and the sauce had a tangy and unique flavor, different from the Japanese katsu don. Some of the side dishes change, but they’re pretty good overall. Service was okay and we’ll definitely return! Side note: it was pretty hot and muggy in the restaurant.

Went here with the bf when his friends were in town for the holidays. And there were lunch specials to choose from if you’re not that hungry. I had the tofu soup with pork and kim chi. It was the typical spicy pork with kim chi as the addition. Too typical in the bf’s opinion. The bf on the other hand had the tofu soup with beef and leeks. He liked his version better because of the leeks. His friends shared the hot pot, and it looked like a lot of food. The items were a tad different than the usual meats and veggies, but I guess it’s what that group choose. I also saw a request of ramen noodles to finish out the soup. Everyone seemed full and happy with their choice. Parking was plentiful since this complex is spacious. Oh. You pay at the front register btw.

Food $ 10 Lunch special. Tofu soup with beef and leeks. I don’t know why I got the tofu soup. There are so many competitors around the area and this place isn’t known for their tofu soup. It was still pretty decent. The leeks made it slightly different from the other tofu soups I’ve had. It was very leaky so if that’s not your thing then don’t get it. I really like their hot pots though. Go for the ham and sausage. The eight bonchon were of decent quality. I could eat the fish cakes all day. Décor Typical Korean joint. Service Water was not refilled. Bonchon was refilled without issue. Would I come here again? Probably. Their hot pots are pretty delicious. Gotta go for those next time.

I came here with my girlfriend and we ordered the gamjatang ddukbaegi and yookgaejang soondubu, respectively. The portions were generous and the service was great, but a little slow. The side dishes were good as well. Would come again to try more of their menu.

It was a dark, wet, and cold evening. I was with my friend and we wanted something soupy. We decided to find a Korean tofu house of some sort and stumbled upon this place. It wasn’t terribly crowded when we walked in. The restaurant was dimly lit, but we were greete immediately and seated. My friend ordered the beef cold noodles. I ordered the tofu soup. First, the tofu soup was delicious. It wasn’t too spicy(for me), and there was a lot of stuff in it. It can be annoying when you order a soup dish and there’s limited stuff in the soup. It came with a bowl of rice. Together, it was more than enough food for me! The cold noodles were interesting. First off, the dish was more bland than my tofu soup. I don’t recommend ordering a large size unless you are super hungry – it’s a lot of noodles. They put korean pear slices in the soup, which is a refreshing find when eating this dish. This is one of those situational dishes for me. I’d only order it if I were specifically craving it. There were many side dishes(that are free, FYI). Don’t be shy to ask for more if you eat all of them. They had kim chi, pickled choy sum(which was new to me), bean sprouts, cucumbers, dried tofu skin things, and a few more that I cant remember, You pay at the counter. Parking is easy. Also, this place is right next to a White Windmill, so you can go there for dessert after! :D

Food it self was decent and was better than any other korean place but the service was horrible female waitresse was so rude and has unacceptable attitude. The owner should replace the female waitress.

Have been to this place many times and their Budae Jigae always keeps me going back. Their hotpots are what we usually get to share with several people. The budae jigae is my personal favorite but the pork bone soup is also quite good. The portion sizes are great and the banchan is yummy too. Ambiance is nice, the staff is friendly, and the service bell at the table is very convenient. We’ll definitely be going back.

I’ve had gamjatang at five different places across the US, from LA to NY, and so far I think A Hyang has been the most legit. It is the first time in the US that the gamjatang has been served with that tangy mustard dipping sauce. They also had a pickled egg side dish which I have never seen before, even after five years in Korea. The staff were super friendly. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. Definitely coming back next time I’m in ATL.

The pork potato soup is super good. And it is huge! Highly recommended. Much more pork than the potato actually. They offer free sides which were very tasty. But tofu soup could be better. I would say this restaurant is good for stew meat. Will try their cold noodle next time.

Group of us came for dinner and we ordered 3 hot pots. 1. Potato Pork Soup 2. Seafood Soup 3. Ham sausage soup. All of the hot pot were huge. 1. Potato Pork Soup 3.5 stars. Soup was but blend. However, pork was very tender and flavorful. There were few veggies like string mushrooms, mint leaves, green onions and few green veggies. 2. Seafood Soup 4 stars. Soup was very fresh and flavorful. Seafood was fresh not like the ones in the frozen bags. I like that they put udon noodles inside. It’s definitely a plus. There were veggies like wood eat mushrooms, carrots, green veggies, etc. seafood like shrimps, squids, octopus, mussels, clams, and blue crab. 3. Ham and sausage soup 4 stars. It’s loaded with tons of sausages, hams, kimchi, clear noodles, and greenies. We added a side order of ramen noodle. Other than the hot pot soups, we were served with plenty of banchans(side dishes) which included marinated eggs, spicy cucumbers, oden(fish cakes), sour seaweed, bean sprouts, and soy sauce potatoes. Service was excellent. There’s a bell on the table to call the servers whenever you needed things. I will definitely be back and try other items on the menu.

Visited A-Hyang for the first time on July 4th because danmooji was closed :(:(:(That being said, the food was just meh. We got the tonkatsu, boodaejjigae and the gamjatang. It wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t amazing either. I think there are many other places to go, especially in this area, for better quality Korean food.

A-Hyang is a Korean restaurant that opened early 2012 in Nukoa Plaza on Steve Reynolds Blvd. This is the same shopping center that has Dan Moo Ji and a White Windmill. I like this restaurant because unlike traditional Korean restaurants, this one feels new and fresh. Color scheme is white and light green and décor and furniture is more modern and hip, almost like an Asian café. Atmosphere is casual and the space is open and conducive for family and group dining. Very clean too. The menu offers typical Korean cuisine: Korean BBQ, bibimbap(mixed rice), noodles, soups/stews, some seafood entrees, and pancakes. Several of the menu items, such as the meats and stews, are meant for sharing. Thus, you’ll find BBQ meats and various hot pots on the menu for $ 19.99+ each. There are a handful of single serving dishes under $ 10 each(such as the galbi tang — beef rib soup — and bibimbap), though some combos can go as high as $ 15 – 16. Lunch specials are available Monday-Friday, 11am to 2:30pm. Most lunch entrees are only $ 7.99 or less. I’ve tried the following items(spelled as they are on the menu): GamJa-Tang — pork rib soup with potatoes GalBi DolSot-BiBimBap — sauteed veggies, beef ribs, over rice in a stone bowl Mul-NaengMyeon — cold buckwheat noodles with mild seasonings I’ve also had the following banchan(side dishes): Seaweed Potato Acorn jelly Kimchi Spicy pickled cucumber Fish cake Egg Macaroni Generally, everything is pretty good here. I like all of the banchan, particularly the acorn jelly which comes soaked in sauce and topped with plenty of garnishes such as sliced red chili peppers. The banchan is pretty fresh and crisp, particularly the seaweed and kimchi. Most are strong and spicy and flavor. The egg is boiled and cut in half, marinated well. The macaroni is interesting because rarely do I see macaroni banchan. It’s just like a simple pasta salad. The GamJa-Tang is one of A-Hyang’s more«well-known» dishes. Along with pork and potatoes, this soup also includes soy bean paste, ginger, enoki mushrooms, sesame leaves, and chives. The veggies are fresh and come in long slices, placed neatly on top of the still-bubbling soup(served straight out of the kitchen). The portion size is huge so this soup can easily be split amongst 2 – 3 people. The pork is still on the bone and is super soft and tender, so it falls right off. The GalBi DolSot-BiBimBap is delicious and one of the better bibimbaps I’ve had in metro Atlanta. Ingredients include the galbi short ribs(topped with sesame seeds), carrots, bean sprouts, watercress, cucumbers, mushrooms, and radish over white rice. The rice is served still crackling and sizzling in an iron bowl. If you’ve never had bibimbap before, you’re supposed to mix all of the ingredients in the bowl together. One of the good things about dolsot(stone bowl) bibimbap is that some of the rice gets hardened and crispy because it’s cooking up against the side of the bowl. Therefore, you get tastier bits of rice. Spicy red paste is optional. I recommend it. The Mul-NaengMyeon is rather mild. Therefore, plenty of vinegar and mustard is recommended, but start small and add to taste. The NaengMyeon is cut tableside and the noodles are very chewy(this is how it’s supposed to be). I found A-Hyang’s NaengMyeon to be one of the milder versions I’ve tried. Still good, though. These are cold noodles and the broth has plenty of crushed ice. One other food note: they serve tonkatsu here — Japanese fried pork cutlet. It’s called«Wang-DonGgaSeu» on the menu. I think it translates into«king tonkatsu.» This is definitely sized for a king because the plate is absolutely huge(and costs $ 16.99)! The restaurant gives out complimentary desserts here like fruit slushes, though I’m not sure if they give them out to everybody or if there are certain requirements to get them. Service is A-OK. You shouldn’t have any problems finding this restaurant as it’s clearly labeled in English.
