Great place! Highly recommended! I’ve been to many restaurants, yet this is my first Unilocal review, since this place deserves it. Though the staff don’t speak good English, we can still communicate with no problems. And they are just SOFRIENDLY! Black goat is great! And their dishes are of huge portions, I can’t even finish half of the meat for the stew I ordered.

Me and my roommate randomly decided to try this place after running some errands in the same plaza. The food is average, like other Korean restaurant, wasn’t anything special. The portion is good, average price. It looks like a traditional Korean restaurant, everything is in Korean in there. The service isn’t that good, I asked my server what is on the menu about a dish, she said she doesn’t know because she is not the cook?! So I decided to go with what I usually would have in other Korean restaurant.

We decided to give this place a try while visiting family in GA for some black goat meat. When I first walked in, the décor reminded me of a small village restaurant in Korea, where you would go for some good home cooked meal. We ordered sooyook for the family to start along with nengmyun(cold noodles) dwenjang Jjigae(soybean paste soup). I never really had black goat before and I was hesitant to try, and once I had my first bite, I was shocked at how soft and savory it tasted. I expected that it would be have some sort of fishy smell as it does normally with lamb, it didnt even have any sort of fishyness and had a clean cut savory texture and taste. So at a black goat specialty restaurant I was surprised at how awesome the cold noodles were. The cold noodles broth seemed like it was truly a home cooked broth the savoryness the deep strong flavor was exactly what I needed to satisfy my tastebuds and tummy. The side dishes that come out are also pretty awesome and even taste better than some main dishes. Overall if you want some good homecooked meal but dont have the energy and time to spend come to this joint.

I got here by mistake, but glad I did. Their menu has many meat dishes, some have minimal 2 people requirement. I asked the waitress what their most famous fish is, she told me it’s either the black lamb or chicken soup. I picked the lamb soup and it was quite nice. The lamb is fairly tender, and there are strips of skin /tendon also in the soup that has a lot of green chive boiled. The side dish was decent. Service was very warm and prompt.(Like most Korean restaurants, there is a page button on the table, waiting staff won’t come unless you press that magic button).

Great food and adventure, nice unknown gem. We were headed to a nearby Indian restaurant when we saw the«Bang Ga Nae» sign. From the road, you can’t tell that it’s a restaurant. The setting is OK but sparse; the water fountain in front is nice. I got the bibimbap in a hot stone bowl($ 13) and my wife got chicken soup($ 14). She thought she was getting something«easy,» but we were amused to find that it came with a whole young hen in the bowl. The appetizers(banchan, kimchi, …) were great and unexpected. We appreciated the lack of English spoken there and the Korean customers as signs of the restaurant’s authenticity. Recommended for foodie adventurists.

We are regulars here and this is our go-to Korean restaurant for mulnaengmyun. Best cold noodles in Atlanta — hands down. The staff is also really nice and if you bring your kids and ask for rice and soup they usually serve it to you free of charge. They offer a wide variety of food on their menu from healthy porridges and soups to Korean BBQ. All entrees are served with lots of banchan(side items) which are of the healthy variety. If you’re trying to impress visitors with restaurant ambience though, this is not the right place(hence the –1 star). It’s clean enough but not like myungawon on pleasant hill.

Bang Ga Nae is a bit away from other Korean restaurants, but definitely worth a visit, especially for their goat dishes. During this visit, I ordered the black goat hotpot and couple bottles of soju. First, their side dishes are always clean and simple yet delicious. This place still amazes me on how well they prepare their goat. The meat isn’t gamey at all. Black goat hot pot isn’t «in your face» kind of flavor but very subtle yet still flavorful. Plus the dipping sauce they provide adds a nice touch. When you’re done with the hot pot, they will make a fried rice with left over soup including couple other ingredients. Definitely a must.

This is one of our Korean food adventure… have to say I am totally surprised. The side dishes here are great, and they refill them before u even ask(which never happened to me before in other korean places). They get food ready fast even when they are busy! The food is great too. My roommate ordered black goat stew and she really liked it. I had #37, which is okay. Definitely will be back!!!

Only 4 stars because I like the original NY one much better when taking taste of the meat into account. How obnoxious, right? :3 Took my family and a family friend here last night, it’s maybe the 4th time here so I probably should catch up on reviews. This place used to be owned by the same owner from NY but I think the owner may have changed, not sure: T We ordered 4 lbs. of goat meat, which was wayyyy more than enough for 5 people. Try to get the goat meat with the skin pieces if you can(«kkgup-chil») Obligatory korean ban-chan(side dishes) were average: random mayo cucumber/apple salad, sauced potato cubes, steamed and lightly salted bean sprouts, three different types of kimchi, and surprisingly some pickled soy sauce boiled eggs this time. After the meat heap of goat dwindled down, the server ladies(the skinny one with the big lips and the one with glasses) took away the steam basket and brought out a refreshing hearty stew, then after the stew we were prepared a delicious fried rice in a wok before our eyes(all the cooking is done on one of those little camp stove burners). When the check was brought out, it come with the dessert korean sweet rice drink(shik-hae) that has little floating rice nubbies.

Been coming here for years. They have good boyangtang(spicy goat soup) and it always hits the spot… especially during the colder parts of the year. I’m not Korean, but when I come the waitresses are very nice and patient with me when I order or have questions.

Went here over the years when I’m craving Gamjatang(spicy pork backbone stew with potato). Not too spicy and plenty of veggies that I like in the stew that’s boiled over burner at the table. So when my caucasian boyfriend was feeling adventurous, i took him here to see how he would chow down on pork backbone meat. To my surprise, he rolled up his sleeves and grabbed the bones and broke them apart and cleaned up the meat and the cartilage. On my plate, my bones were still intact. Their 2 people order of stew is usually enough to feed 4 but the 2 of us licked the pot clean and ate it all. My boyfriend is used to eating asian food and can eat a lot more spicy stuff than I. And since he like it, i will give them a 4 star. Again, like all other Korean restaurants, service is crappy. But I already know this going in and there’s always a convenient bell u can press to call the waitress over to the table. So that works.

What a surprise. This place is definitely cool. I liked their little bridge over the small pond to get to the dinning area and the decorative plants in the front. We sat by the private room on the right and started with the steamed goat meat which is served on top of bamboo steamer with chopped green scallions. Mix it nicely with the bean paste sauce and put it on top of the lettuce with some garlic. Yummy. You are set to go. It takes little bit of time and the waitress is actually a bit rude. She might be overworked or tired or just not a happy person but I would like to see if she will be more friendly. Ajuma can you smile a bit? We are your customers? Hi! We were party 6 so tried other things on the menu but it was still not that good. Spicy octopus over hot stone bowl — all onions and not octopus? what happened here? Kimchee soup and japanese grilled mackerel — she said they ran out and we had to get something else as a replacement(it was only 2:30PM in the afternoon). Nangmyun combo(both cold broth and dry pepper mix) — this was a hit among our group because you were getting both dishes and don’t have to make a decision; it was not spectacular but the idea was fantastic. I want to give this place another try. I think they can do better. I shall return.

I’m not Korean, but the night I came the waitresses were very very nice to me. My friend ordered the naeng myun and I tried some and thought it was delicious and I usually don’t like cold noodle. The broth was better than a lot of other places. And then I went off the menu and got something that was posted on the wall. Some sort of soup with some mysterious parts of the cow. The waitress was afraid I wouldn’t like it and came by to ask if I was ok with it. It was pretty good. Kind of tasted like sulongtang but with different cuts of beef in it. Sorry i forgot the name. We also order the seafood pancake, and it was good as well. I had a good experience overall, I would definitely come back.

I wouldn’t recommend going here unless you’re Korean. I order hot tea and they gave it in a clears plastic cup. I noticed others got China cups. Either they ran out or I wasn’t good enough for the good cups. I ordered baby octopus with rice and instead got a bimembap. The person who delivered it couldn’t understand me when I said I didn’t order that and another waitress just smiled and nodded when I tried to tell her it was the wrong order. Never refilled my tea in the weird cup. Food was good enough but I’d prefer what I order not random stuff.

I’ve been here more than several times and as always, the service is sloooow. They’re not that rude or anything, but everything comes at a snail’s pace. With that said, you won’t find a better place for traditional black goat stew and/or roast. The vegetables and seasoning in this dish is unlike anything I’ve had, and this place specializes in this traditional Korean dish. Also, their naeng myun(both mool and bibim) is pretty tasty too. I’ve tried ordering other things on their menu, and everything else has just been, meh, ok. Watch out for their prices too… they can get pretty expensive, especially their dinner prices.

I came here with a group of 5 on a Sunday afternoon. The place was pretty empty, so the service was good. I was with several Korean speakers which helped bridge the language barrier. For myself, it was difficult to communicate wanting more panchan and such and being in the midst of Korean speakers made it easier, but I could potentially see it being an issue if I came with no Korean speakers. The environment is clean and the layout is kind of odd with plants in one corner of the room and Korean architecture sprawled out along the walls. But it gives it a very warm feeling. I got the duk mandoo guk, which consisted of the typical broth, rice cakes, dumplings, eggs, and seaweed. The ratio of dumplings to rice cake was a lot higher than I expected(more dumplings than normal). It’s not necessarily a bad thing but just something I wasn’t used to. Overall, it wasn’t the best I’ve had but it was certainly good. Note: I’ve heard that the yuk gae jang is the best dish they have here. They had a good assortment of panchan and I like the sprouts a lot since it was super flavorful. At the end of the meal, they served a cold rice water that was mildly sweet. Service: 4 out of 5 stars Food: 3 out of 5 stars Environment: 4 out of 5 stars. Overall: 3.5 stars(I’ll bump it up to 4)

I didn’t even know a decent Korean restaurant was up here. I wasn’t sure what to expect… so I was pleasantly surprised. FOOD: Even tho’ everyone in our party got nang-myun, I chose the bi-bim-bap. The noodle broth was tasty but I just don’t find nang-myun filling. The bi-bim-bap filled with mixed sauteed vegetables with rice and side of hot sauce. You can’t really do bi-bim-bap wrong but you can definitely make it tastier!
