Great store. It sounds like a cliché but they truly have a friendly, knowledgeable staff. They were able to help me remember an author I needed help with and also had great suggestions for authors like her. Just the right size for a neighborhood independent bookstore with a little of everything and a lot in great sections like fiction, children’s and regional titles too. Wonderful souvenirs and tons of toys. Something for everyone.

This is located downstairs on the first floor. This building is so old, when I took the elevator, my knees buckled. Before you walk in there’s a cart with a bunch of hardcover book and kids books at 50% off. I think they could go lower, but it will do. This store is in 3 sections, and very spacious. Which is what I think a bookstore should be. What I love about the variety is that it tends to promote local. I even bought a Betty’s Pies cookbook. Basil got Lost Duluth. So far we have local cookbooks, local history, and a prominent display of TC local mystery authors. A lot of their earlier works also. There is a solitary display of local Duluth resident Wendy Webb. There are about 10 copies a piece of each of her ghost themed mysteries. Obviously, we ran into some Bob Dylan books. Many author readings happen here, I’ll definitely deep my eyes open for these events. On your way up or back from the North Shore, check out all of Fitgers historical building.
