A great venue with incredible views. We ate there three times for brunch and dinners. Being French, I get critical with the crepes served and the authenticity of some dishes. I was so pleased. I had the tapas dinner as well and it was delicious, the presentation was perfect and the portions generous!

The Truffle fries was 1 steamed potato cut into wedges without any truffle oil for $ 16. The lamb tasted like soap and habenero and was way overcooked, completely inedible. The mussels were okay and the $ 10 Burger was Bland but decent for $ 10.

I had two wonderful meals at Midi last weekend. Dinner and breakfast the next morning. As we were getting ready to leave breakfast I actually stood up and for a second, thought I should take my dirty dishes to the kitchen. The service for both meals was so fantastic that I mistakenly thought for a moment I was at a friend’s house. Of course, one look out the window at Midi’s wonderful view of Lake Superior brought me back to reality! I was in a great restaurant. I can’t say enough positive things about the excellent service we received. From the manager to the bartender, and wait staff. I truly think all of these people love their jobs. The food was great. Both menus had lots of tempting options. I had a perfectly cooked steak with perfect fires on the side. Our desserts were amazing. My dinner partner had a beautiful piece of salmon that she loved. Dessert was perfect Crème Brulee. I really enjoyed cracking through the burnt sugar layer. My friend’s cheesecake was presently beautifully. Honestly, great food all around. I had an omelette and hash browns with no complaints. Again, probably some of the best service I’ve ever experienced, a beautiful setting, excellent menus and excellent food.

Had 3 of their small plates and they are all scrumptious! you have got to try: mussels in white wine(real fresh), ahi tuna(with a wasabi twist!) and whitefish bocadillos(similar to a fish po’boy). Sure was a satisfying meal! :-D was right by the lakefront… view was nice, prices reasonable and service was great! what more could you ask for … check them out! :-D

We ate at Midi twice over the weekend. The food is pretty good. The happy hour is excellent and well priced, which is definitely what i would recommend. The ruben sliders and the truffle steak fries are very good, with local and regional beers on tap. Garlic shrimp weren’t really grilled so not that good. My wife really liked their version The first evening our waitress was excellent, the second evening our waitress was terrible, not exactly mean but obviously had no training, hence the 4 star rating. The first should offer classes to be taken by the second. The best part is the view. Good wait staff can make a bad meal good, but lousy wait staff can make a good meal bad. Neither can ruin that view of Superior tho.

Best view of the lake, patio was perfect! Very picky family eaters and each of us found something that we loved, easily the best happy hour I’ve found in Duluth.

Bad No one greeted us at the door. Had to walk in and seat ourselves. If there is no hostess they should have a sign. Waiter waking around with glasses of beer dripping on floor. Too many tables crammed into out door patio. Felt claustrophobic. Out door furniture was not very nice but that is typical of many restaurants. Good View of lake was nice Waiter was nice and polite. Refills on soda came quickly.

We had our wedding at this restaurant. The venue corespondent was friendly, organized, and had good attention to detail. She allowed and helped us to use the restaurant’s spaces to maximize the success of our event. The outside space they have is simply beautiful! The price for the whole event was also quite reasonable, including food, drinks, room and equipment rental. Overall, a great experience that we will not forget!

The food is pretty good — the slider Ruebens were great… would have preferred 2 sandwiches instead of 2 as they were lean. The wedge salad was wonderful. Wait staff friendly and accommodating. The french fries not crispy — even though one of our group asked for crispy fries. The bad part — the waitress’s clothes were dirty and stained. I felt like leaving after seeing this but did not. The carpets had scraps of food and lint on them, the drapes were ripped and shabby. Would recommend taking the drapes down and not replacing them. Ask the waitresses to wear clean clothes.

Amazing view of Lake Superior. Weak, watery coffee. If you don’t like your hashbrowns white and kinda sad, try asking for them well-done or crispy. Nice servers.

THISWASONEHELLOFANEXPERIENCE. WOULDNEVERRECOMMENDTHISPLACETOANYONE, EVER. This place was so highly rated, we thought we’d check it out on our last night in Duluth. It was a gorgeous night, so we asked for outdoor seating. There were maybe four other groups in maybe eight tables on the patio, so there was plenty of space, but we were sandwiched as close as we possible could get to the largest and loudest group there. Now, it’s not the restaurant’s fault they were loud and obnoxious, but they certainly could have seated us a table or two away(oh, and these tables were pretty close together. very little room). We were seated, and so we waited to be brought water and menus. And we waited. And waited. And WAITED. Several different waiters passed by us, each on multiple occasions, and no one even LOOKED at us. FIFTEENMINUTESLATER we were given water. Another five and we got menus. At this time, we were issued an apology because apparently we were being tossed from waiter to waiter like an unwanted hot potato, and no knew who was serving us. I asked for an iced tea, and a good ten to fifteen minutes later it arrived. We ordered our food immediately. After that, if took OVERFORTYFIVEMINUTES for anyone to even COMEOUT and tell us that the kitchen was being slow. We are pretty pissed off at this point. Our waiter offers us free drinks our desserts. We’re not interested, we just want our f — ing food. He tells us it will be out in two to three minutes. He cites an excuse of having had a few large groups that day, even though Unilocal and tripadvisor have made it clear large groups and events are the norm for them. We wait another ten minutes before we get up and leave, having NEVERBEENSERVED. This place is terrible. Do NOT go here.

Lunch was sub par, gluten free was clearly marked very nice. We got 2 burgers, chicken and roast beef sandwich. The burgers and chicken were over cooked dry and burnt, I informed our server he said sorry and went outside. Portions were good sized. The view, look and feel of the place is very nice. I think some management changes would change the overall experience greatly. As the other restaurants were at 30 ro 45 minute wait times. We only had to wait for someone to seat us. We would try eating here again as long as we felt some changes had been made.

My husband and I stayed at Fitgers for a one night stay and went to Midi later in the evening, around 8:30. There was maybe 3 other couples that were there. It took about 15 min to get a server over. We ordered our meals and no bread or anything came with our dish. For the price they charge, you would think a small basket of bread would be offered. Pasta came in about 15 minutes. Food was so-so. Have had better. Waiter hardly paid attention to us… took a while for my drink to be refilled. Being my first time in Duluth and the convenience of being next to our hotel was the primary reason we ate at Midi. Will not go back unfortunately.

Not impressed with the food. The bread was stale, and the squash ravioli was drenched in butter and flavorless. The manager was an obnoxious drunk at the bar with his friends.

Great food, great Happy Hour deals, daily specials. Great lake view. Some excellent German food on the menu, along with many other choices. They have a «sister» restaurant in Hudson, WI; called the Winzer Stube, thus the excellent home made sausages. The dining room décor could use some updating. It has that supper club kind of feel, but it gives it a little class and there is nothing wrong with that in my opinion. I do wish the owner would get some better background music.

We were staying at Fitger’s Inn, and decided to eat here because(a) we had a coupon and(b) we didn’t want to venture out in the heavy rain. We were seated promptly to a table with paper tablecloth near the window with a view of the lake. My husband and I both ordered a cup of the cream of mushroom soup. The soup came out with the bread, butter, and hummus. All were good, but I’m glad I didn’t order a bowl of the soup since it was pretty rich. The house salad that I ordered was fresh and tasty. My husband ordered the spaghetti. The marinara sauce on the spaghetti was somewhat bland. Overall, the meal was worth what we paid(with the discount), but I wouldn’t choose to eat here again.

Ate here for Mother’s Day brunch while staying at Fitgers. Try to get a seat in the room off the bar and feast your eyes on the great view of lake superior. As for the food, all the typical brunchy stuff — all was fine, nothing outstanding of so delicious that I’d race back for seconds. A pretty good value and a good selection of hot and cold entries. Brunch comes with OJ or Mimosa.

We stayed at Fitger’s on a recent visit to Duluth and were lured to Midi because they give guests of the hotel discount coupons to use in the restaurant. Then we found out they have a happy hour where beers and drinks and small plate appetizers are all half off and we thought we’d give it a try. First, the view is beautiful. Worth it to go just to sit at a table and look out at the lake. Second, the food is decent. Not amazing but not bad for sure. We had a whole bunch of small plate appetizers — the ruben sandwich slider(which might have been my favorite), the whitefish slider(very good, fried), the lemon garlic shrimp(pretty standard) and the truffle oil steak fries(decent). We had three beers between us, used the coupon from the hotel and walked out for under $ 23, INCLUDING tip. It was a ridiculous deal.(And no, we didn’t cheap out on the tip!) I have no idea how they stay in business offering people that kind of discounted food. But for the price, it was certainly a decent meal and worth the stop. Would we do it a second time in a row if we had another dinner to eat in Duluth? Probably not. But for a quick bite that’s convenient to guests at the hotel, I’d say go for happy hour(3 – 6 p.m.) and don’t forget your coupon and you’ll be fine. Sounds like it might be worth a try for breakfast if we ever stay at Fitgers again.

Very good place for a quick but somewhat elegant breakfast. Whether you are staying at Fitger’s Inn or are just in the Duluth area, I would recommend stopping by. The lunch and dinner services are probably a little more«upscale», but breakfast is casual and cozy. If you park in the Fitger’s ramp you have to walk through the Fitger’s complex to get to the restaurant, but there are several signs along the way. I would highly recommend the Apple Cinnamon Streusel Coffee Cake. Very generous portion dusted with powdered sugar, it could easily be split with a couple people and would go great with some Fitger’s Coffee. For breakfast I tried their Poached Eggs with Salmon Skillet. Normally I’m not big into getting poached eggs at restaurants; they usually come out too runny and lack flavor. This dish at Midi was fantastic. Well sized salmon fillet, two poached eggs, drizzled with hollandaise sauce, all over a bed of diced potatoes, peppers, and tomatoes. The salmon was very flavorful and moist, and the eggs were poached terrifically and seasoned well. The yolk, when sliced into, was runny to the point of draping over the rest of the food, but not overly runny where you basically need a spoon to have any chance of eating it. Everything was fresh, portions were just right, and the service was very friendly. Well priced for breakfast, I am glad I tried Midi. They validate your parking in the ramp, and if you are staying at Fitger’s Inn they can bill your meal to your room. Decent variety on the breakfast menu, lots of tea choices, and the dining area has a beautiful view of the lake.

Everything about this place is so-so except for the gorgeous view on the patio. And it’s a good thing the view is so nice, because you will need entertainment during your long waits for drinks and food. Our server was sweet, but several mishaps made our meal disappointing. Two that come immediately to mind are the house coffee that took over ten minutes to arrive after ordering and the cocktail that was not even close to what was ordered. When I ask a waiter or bartender if they can make me a specific drink and tell them that I’d rather order something else if they can’t, I expect an honest answer. And I do take some of the blame on this one, because the extensive wine list and teeny tiny cocktail list put me on notice that Midi is not really a cocktail type of place. Food was so-so. I ordered a burger medium and it arrived well done, so it was difficult to tell whether it was good or not. Anyway, if you have 3 hours for dinner and just want to sit outside with no wait on a Saturday night, Midi might make you happy. We had a great time because we were in good spirits and with good company. But I’m pretty sure you can get the same view with better food elsewhere.
