I love the décor and coffee in the nice, heavy mugs. So nice to have an independent coffee place with a great atmosphere in the burbs. Don’t miss it even with the construction gong on in the area… Worth it!!!

This place is super cute and has amazing service, but what I really wanted when I came in on a Friday afternoon was an awesome slice of cake. I opted for the chocolate fudge based on the recommendation of the person at the counter. The cake was probably really delicious…3 days ago. The slice I got was super stale and almost inedible. So disappointing.

A charming little coffeeshop, but the décor isn’t particularly relaxing, and the coffee wasn’t particularly great. You can see all the shelving with supplies from the main room, which is fine, but they’re disorganized and cramped, which makes the rest of the place feel similar. The walls are red, chocolate brown and orange, and there’s a strange bar over to one side where they sell… BBQ sauce? Shelving has random pamphlets, and there’s a television(turned off) with a picture of a video game character above it(?) framed by ultra-modern floor lamps and yet more pamphlets on a table. All this didn’t strike me as charming any more than the stuff stapled to the walls at Zaxby’s strikes me as charming– it just feels weird and confused. I work in Gwinnett, and was hoping to find a coffeeshop to stop at during the hour between beating the traffic/my job starting, but this one doesn’t have the atmosphere or charm that makes me want to camp out here for a few hours and order drink after drink. Hate to say it, but I think I’ll stick to Starbucks.

Not only does this place have an awesome name, they are an awesome coffee shop as well. The owner makes coffee perfectly and takes pride in his work; he asked if it was our first time there and really took an interest in what kind of drink we were looking for. It tasted amazing and didn’t take long at all. The place is quite small, but it’s still large enough to sit around with a group of friends and have a chat over some of the best brewed coffee money can get you these days. I’m glad to see they’re so popular on review sites. One more certainly won’t hurt!

My favorite place to write in Duluth. Great coffee and cozy atmosphere. As a writer, I’m always loyal to the coffee shops where I produce my best writing, and I always crank out page after page at Espresso Theory. Don’t miss out!(Also, the mugs are adorable and the baristas are great.)

Very cozy, warm, and inviting atmosphere. The coffee is absolutely amazing! I love that the coffee is served in very nice mugs! It’s great way to really create a feeling of comfort. We were greeted happily and service was prompt and professional. Towards the end of our meeting we were asked how everything was and if we needed anything. The attentiveness was just right. This will now be our official spot for meetings!

Espresso Theory is adorable! I theorize that this place has great espresso, great atmosphere, great posters, a great community feeling, and a great neighborhood. That would be a great thesis to an essay; an essay I could be writing at Espresso Theory! I came here with a friend on a Saturday afternoon. It was mostly empty except for a few people, but the barista still welcomed us with huge smiles and warmness. I can’t tell which was more warm and soul-lifting: the barista or the coffee. I tried the reeses latte and my friend got a butterfinger one. The latte is mixed with a candy bar in it. I actually didn’t think the latte was that great, but if I stuck to one of their specials I think the coffee would have been better and despite that it still lifted my soul. However, everything else more than compensated for choosing the wrong coffee. There are lots of gamer-posters all over. There is a couch with a table with magazines and a TV with CNN, which seems like it could be changed to a different channel. They could probably have movie nights here. There are lots of tables and eclectic décor that make it unique and it just felt like a place different people come to philosophize, theorize, and spend time together. There are plugs everywhere and a few baked goods. It is located in downtown Duluth which is small, but cute and seems like it is growing. I definitely want to try this place again sometime.

*NOTOPENONSUNDAYS* I like this coffee shop because their coffee is strong! I love my lattes strong! I took my in laws here for their doppios(double espresso) and it was served in cute little cups with cute little plates. I like their coffee mugs too. It had the planet Saturn on them. Which is my favorite planet. I guess their theme is kind of like space stuff. My lil bro in law got the iced frap with caramel syrup and he said it was a little too icey and basically sucked all the chocolate out of it with nothing left but the slushy ice. My fiancé got the mc117 and liked it. I guess it’s for bold people since there is cayannee pepper sprinkled on top of the drink. All in all I will be back. They have cake and I also bought some Smack Yo Momma Bbq sauce here for $ 7 which was pretty good! The worker said the sauce maker works here part time so at least I know where to find this sauce! I also had to suggest to the worker there that this place is not open on Sunday despite the Unilocal hours saying it is open on Sunday. I came here once on a Sunday and it was totally not open.

My husband and I went there for the first time today and it was such a great decision. I got 16 oz iced americano and my husband got 20 oz heath latte. We are not really big coffee people but they were so good even for us. The person who made the coffee for us was soooo nice and the service was great. I really liked pictures of the owner’s dogs and other decorations in the shop since I am a huge dog lover. We are planning to visit again very soon!

Yummy! I search for cafes with plenty of space for studying, super welcoming staff and great location. This place is super cool if you are in the area. Haven’t tried the desserts, but I hear they are delicious! Will come by again. My peppermint mocha was da bomb.

Great coffee and welcoming environment! I love the place and wish I had not been in a rush to go otherwise I could hang out there all day. The gentleman serving me was really friendly and we got to chat for awhile — especially about Chicago which made me feel really comfortable. Now the coffee itself — delicious. The coffee beans are amazing and even their syrups are awesome. It was unique tasting and delicious. And they also had goats milk caramels!!! Omg I made a mistake of buying only 2… Should have bought the whole box. Def when I’m back in Atlanta I will always have to stop here !

Let me start off by saying although I love coffee, I am not the type of a person that will go miles to get my coffee fix. Having said that, Espresso Theory might be an exception. I’ve been here four times now, my usual visit is on Tuesday morning as that’s the only time I’ll be passing by the café. On my first visit, I had the recommended ‘new orleans chicory coffee’ and boy that was excellent coffee. I was blown away from the aroma and how earthy the coffee tasted. On my second visit, I had the something light roast, quite acidic yet had a pleasant brightness to it. On my third visit, I had the something dark roast… yeah I know, I am not good with the name of the coffee beans. Which was also excellent. The same day after lunch, I took my wife here to have her experience the same pleasant experience I had for the past three visits. The barista was different from the one I met in the morning, whom I don’t even know the name of. was very friendly. Not only to us, but to everybody that was walking through the door. He was also very knowledgeable on what he had. Not to say the other barista didn’t know, let’s just say he had a lot more passion when he talked about the coffee he was offering. My wife doesn’t drink coffees straight up, she usually gets latte or frappuchino from Starbucks. She also does decaf as caffeine will trigger the migraine headache sometimes. On the first order she felt like there wasn’t enough of the coffee taste in her latte, so David, the barista, added extra shot for her. Little better but she said she’ll have to experiment a bit with the future orders. While we were talking, David came up to us and asked how the extra shot was. Upon finding out she is not yet satisfied, he went ahead and made another cup of coffee to make sure she finds the right coffee for her. We got an exceptional service, a very pleasant after lunch coffee, and walked out knowing we will be back. Great job! ps. David asked us our name when we were about to walk out and greeted with our names. Very personal touch and appreciated it a lot. You don’t see this anymore with a lot of the cafes anymore. Let alone a place where you go regularily.

What a cute little coffee shop! I was in Duluth(my old stomping grounds) with my Mom and brother and we happened upon this little gem. The staff was super friendly and they brewed a strong, delicious cup of coffee. I was also impressed that they had non dairy milk options(coconut and almond milk). The environment was very cute and welcoming with plenty of places to sit and work or chill. They had some yummy looking treats for sale too, but we did not indulge during this visit. I would definitely recommend checking this place out.

TOUROFDULUTH,(COFFEE) This little coffee shop is located just off of Main Street. It is really on the side street and it bumps right up to the Main Square. It is very cute and quaint, just as sweet as its desserts. I sampled the cinnamon roll and it almost launched me into orbit. Way too sweet for my taste and my husband found it too sweet as well. They also have scones and bagels which may be a better option for someone who prefers a little less sugar. In addition to a variety of coffee options, they also featured a selection of tall layer cakes and cheesecakes. This place has a wonderful vibe and is a super cool hang out. It has comfortable seating, a large farm table for large groups and smaller more intimate areas. There is a television available if you want to just sit and listen to the news. If you walk out of the backdoor, you will encounter a patio which has a beautiful view of the town square and its beautiful grounds. This is where you want to be when that next snow storm hits: It’s cozy and warm and you can always cuddle up to some cheesecake.

I love it here! The owner was extremely pleasant and informative regarding my question on the espresso tonic. He gave me a sample of the tonic water that is used and it was the best tonic water I’ve ever had and I usually only drink tonic water with gin. It looked and tasted amazing with the espresso(as shown in pic)! Cozy environment with an abundance of cakes and sweets. It’s shops like these that remind me why I prefer locally owned businesses over corporate(ie: Starbucks). I will definitely be coming back for the great customer service as well as the coffee!

This coffee shop is a decent place. New to town about 3 months ago. Tucked in downtown Duluth, they offer a good tasting house coffee. They even offer a $ 9 Jamaican French pressed cup of coffee. Way too expensive for my taste buds, but I guess it appeals to someone. They offer many other hot beverages as well. It has a welcoming environment, kind of like someone’s living room with sofas and TV all around. They sell many types of cakes, cookies, and pies, but they don’t bake them in house. They use a dessert vendor. They also sell fudge by the pound. Worth a cup of coffee if ever walking around Downtown Duluth. Not really a go to destination spot. The parking and traffic at/near that 3 way stop is maddening.

Comfortable spot with a large assortment of cakes and fudge, but being the coffee yuppie I am that is what brought me here and will have me coming back. They have a great French press and a slew of different coffee options. I recommend you check it out!

Vibe is cool. Killer location. But, the coffee needs a lot of work. Ordered a regular cappuccino. They asked if I wanted a small or large. A cappuccino doesn’t come in different sizes. A larger cappuccino is a latte, smaller is a cortado, etc. Espresso 101. Milk was super bubble-y, no micro foam, and overheated. Speaking of espresso, their cup sleeves are misspelled. They say«Expreso» Theory, the way most folks pronounce«espresso.» The place has a lot of potential, just need to nail down their espresso drinks /milk frothing.

The perfect coffee shop has opened in downtown Duluth. The ambiance is a perfect combo of fresh, inviting, and cozy. The coffee is wonderful with friendly service. They offer espresso of all kinds, multiple coffees of the day, fudge, beautiful cakes, scones, cookies, and a wide assortment of truffles. I love that the medium dark roast that I got was strong but not acidic. I am so excited that I can grab a nice cup of coffee and enjoy Taylor Park with my baby girl.
