The Exchange did my wedding cake and I received so many compliments on it! I had them customize make a strawberry cake for me and it was perfect — the frosting was whipped and not too heavy & the cake was moist. The baker was so great to work with, delivery was on-time and he make sure my cake was decorated with the items I left on the table — just great all around! Sure, the actual place could use a remodel, but don’t judge a book by its cover. Thank you!

My wedding cake came from here. The baker was easy to work with and provided delivery and set up on time. I think the price is very reasonable. The cake was very pretty, but not as high end as you might get in the cities. However, I think they’re one of the best in Duluth. We had two flavors: carrot with cream cheese and chocolate with raspberry. It was delicious and moist. I was really impressed with the flavors. Luckily we ordered a lot of extra and everyone was thrilled to take more cake home with them.

I got my wedding cake here in August. We went and had a gross, stale sample of white cake with strawberry filling. I’d had the cake at my aunt’s wedding and knew it was actually really good. So they’re lucky. Otherwise, I would have gone elsewhere. It’s a really dumpy looking place, but they actually turn out delicious cakes. We got a three layer cake and a big sheet cake(feed more people for less money that way) in two different flavors: white cake with lemon filling and chocolate cake with raspberry filling. OMAZING. Both were so delish. And I’m not even usually a big cake fan. The decoration, however, really pissed me off. Please see the business pictures for a comparison of the picture I sent them versus the result. They said that buttercream piped frosting decoration was included in the price of the cake. So I found a picture of the design of buttercream piped frosting I wanted and emailed it to them. Beautiful, fluffy, petal-like, crescent blooms of frosting is what I asked for. Uneven, haphazardly-squirted-on blobs is what I got. There are four reasons I can think of for this: 1. Maybe what I asked for is really hard to do and it would have taken too much time without any extra money. 2. They’re just lazy. 3. They are blind and could not see the picture. 4. They did not notice any difference and should not be in the cake-making business. If the first or second reason were true, they should have called and either asked for a fee or for a different design. So if you go: delicious cake, but possibly ugly. Normally, I don’t care what a cake looks like, but it was my wedding day. I knew there were going to be a lot of pictures that I’m going to be looking at occasionally for the rest of my life. If I hadn’t been on my honeymoon the next day(and then moving across the ocean a few days later) next day, I would have called to complain.
