Dropped by the Assi plaza with some friends on the way up to a weekend retreat. Despite the reviews, I was still curious to try it out. As per Chloe M., the marinade on the Bulgogi burger does end up making the burger a bit on the mushy side. The burger is also a bit on the overly sweet side due to the marinade. But I still thought the burger was actually pretty tasty… I wasn’t expecting gourmet burger, and gourmet it was not. I wish I got to try the twisted fries… but got the«NO» look from the wife.

Yori Jori Fusion Burger is a food stall located in the Assi Plaza food court. I got my order to-go – $ 6.99 kimchi burger combo with twisted potato fries and a drink. The kimchi burger honestly looks like a Whopper on a standard sesame seed bun. It generously filled the styrofoam container and came pre-cut in half. The kimchi topping wasn’t overpowering and looked to be mixed with mayo maybe? There was also a generous smear of mayo under the patty which was cooked on the medium-well side. So if you’re not into mayo-gushers, you may want to pass on this. Overall, it was a relatively tasty, though average, burger. Can’t really say I’m dying for another one right now though. The Twisted Potatoes are street-food fun. Since I got my order to-go, my spicy chili twisted potatoes came in their own paper bag which I at first mistook for a corn dog on a stick. They’re liberally dusted with something like cayenne pepper and sugar and they’re also pretty addictive. I had to pause between bites though to cool off my tongue. It was a tad painful.

BULGOGI burgers! KIMCHI burgers! Korean tacos aren’t the new thing anymore. Korean burgers are. Today, I had a succulent burger marinated in bulgogi sauce. It was juicy and tasty. But you know what happens when you marinate ground beef — the consistency of the meat becomes mushy. Which is what these burgers really are. Don’t get me wrong, though, they’re good, but not in the American kind of way. For $ 4.99 you get a regular sized burger(about 1⁄3 pound) in a soft, grocery-type sesame seed bun. Add $ 2 more and you get fries and a drink. Best part: the TWISTEDPOTATO. They take a big, whole potato, skin it, then slice it like a slinky so you still have a whole potato. Then they put the entire thing on a stick(like a kebab), douse it with spices, and deep fry it to a golden sheen. This is ridiculously GOOD!!! They have three flavors: barbecue, cheese, and spicy chili. Get the spicy chili. It is soooooooo awesome.
