If I could give negative stars I would. Service is so slow. Food is way over priced for non fresh sushi. I am not surprised that the other guests got sick. Please please refer to the other reviews.

Would never go back :( Several weeks ago, I went here for the second time to celebrate my birthday with a friend, and we ordered a sashimi combo($ 39.99). The employees were nice, but the sashimi & sushi were not fresh and most importantly, we both got sick after eating here. We started feeling sick midway through eating here, so we stopped eating. We threw up all the food we had, so it was definitely not a pleasant experience.

I ate here with 3 others and got greeted by multiple workers right away. They were friendly and checked in on us while we prepared to order. But after ordering, our side dishes never came out, water was never refilled, and our miso soup was cold when served. The service was basically nonexistent throughout the meal except for 1 water refill. They said they were busy and apologized but the food was also mediocre unfortunately. We tried their volcano roll, duluth roll, fish katsu, and the teriyaki salmon. Everything is pricy so i expected better flavors but the rolls were average and ive had better fish katsu for 1⁄3 of the price at korean supermarket food courts. On top of that, the waiter who checked us out didn’t know how to split a check and made us pay for our parts via credit card, followed by cash for tax money. It wasnt very professional. I get that they were busy but the whole experience was bad and wouldn’t go back again. Im leaving 2.5 stars because the food was simply okay and not awful. Its definitely overpriced for what its worth.

To describe my experience here«a train wreck». From poor service to fishy seafood. They even ran out of restaurant when I left and pointed at me because of a small tip(10% and should have been nothing). I felt bad so tried to explain and they were rude. I am surprised this place is still open.

Was originally looking for Haru Ichiban, but could not locate. Ran into this(4) star spot on Unilocal. At first glance, and never having been to Japan, this place feels like what a sushi parlor is, over seas. Quaint and small, the sushi bar isn’t the best place to sit, but little option for party of one. The ikea like fixtures are crowded with sushi plates, boats and other items. There is no «spit guard» and the sushi is kept in top load refrigerator units. Though, the cooks are clean and are constantly arranging, wiping and cleaning prep areas. The sushi … Leaves something to be desired. I tend to test a new place on(2) simple dishes, A) the steamed dumpling and B) unagi(a simple and inexpensive cut), and if they do these well… there’s…in my opinion, a reason to come back. In the case of this spot. Epic failure. The dumplings had no real flavor, gummy and for them having been steamed. Ate like they sat under a heat lamp #gross. The unagi failed even more so. The sushi rice was under cooked and had no flavor what-so-ever to speak of and it failed in the ratio to fish, as well as stickiness. The final dagger would be the service. While I do not speak Japanese, I do speak«kitchen-anger». The staff were yelling and arm flinging commands and retorts the whole time. And having sat at the«sushi bar», I was given little to no attention at all. I’d say this is a sushi restaurant that is either beloved or looked past. I sit on the latter team. It’s has nothing to help make it stand out, or enticing to make me revisit. And the after taste of ginger and wasabi is all I have to take from this spot. But every sushi spot garnishes with the essentials. #lookpast

**Review of the Sashimi for 2, Dinner — $ 78.99** I have tried many sushi/sashimi restaurants around the area(from Sam’s Sushi, Kangnam, Haru Ichiban), and I definitely believe Hae O Reum takes the cake! I went today and ordered the Sashimi for 2. The meal came out like a course meal with various side dishes(10+) from a spicy vegetable mix to cheesy corn to a mini bited-sized steak marinated like Korean LA Ribs arriving in 3 groups! When ordering the Sashimi or Kwang-Uh(), there are options to choose from of the«Other Seafood» group; we had the Abalone, Clam, and Sea Cucumber. All of the seafood came out fresh at the perfect temperature and looking fabulous. I am a big fan of Tuna, and this place had the best looking tuna I have seen in a while — a great ruby color that barely, if any, tinged the underneath white raw radish. Although it was our first time going to Hae O Reum, we also received an additional Spicy Tuna Roll free of charge. Needless to say, the rolls were also great because they were made from good rice, had a good ratio of rice to filling, and the sauces on top were not over-powering at all. With all of the food that came out, we still had some left overs after both my company and I were finished! I think out of all of the sushi/sashimi restaurants, this place has become my new favorite. I would highly recommend giving this place a try!

K-pop and mediocre service. Sushi was ok. With all the other places in the area, I probably wouldn’t come back or recommend.

Not seeing the hype. Rolls had absolutely nothing going for them. Zero flavor and character. Salads had an inch of water in the bottom and were inconsistent. One had all greens and the other had all the white peices. Pot stickers were mediocre :/ Service was friendly tho.

They are having a lunch special on 5 different items. I have tried the soba noodles with roll and hwedupbap(sashimi over rice) each were $ 9.99. I thought the lunch prices were very affordable and worth it. The fish was fresh and presentation was clean. The food was delicious. I came once with my family, the second time with my partner and both times enjoyed my meal. Their side dishes were above average compared to neighboring Korean restaurants. I appreciated the variety and cleanliness of it all. Their service did vary by the waitress and the atmosphere was very quiet and empty the both times I went. I would visit again!

A sushi experience to be had! I ate here about a month ago with two coworkers. This is the best sushi I’ve ever had in Gwinnett! The meal was served to us with soup, salad, appetizers, and then the sushi(we only actually ordered sushi rolls). After the sushi was served, they actually served us some kind of tea before we left. My recommendations for the rolls would be the Rainbow Roll(as beautiful as it was delicious) and their specialty Duluth roll. Both were absolutely perfect. I’ll definitely be back. Great experience.

I am pretty impressed with this place. It’s similar to Naru. but I think it’s safe to say, I like this place better. While their sashimi is more or less the same, I like Hae O Reum’s side dishes much better. I’ve tried both their lunch and dinner combos. I was especially blown away by their dinner. They served us this spicy, seafood porridge(?) soup. Omg. So good. Honestly, that soup left a bigger impact on me than the sashimi. The service was very friendly. I’m not the biggest fan of the ambience. Such stark, white walls. but other than that, everything’s great :)

As an avid sushi lover I had to try the new sushi place in town. And I was very glad I had. This is a Korean style sushi restaurant, so i recommend getting the fresh sashimi style fish. I tried the lunch combo and went back to try dinner as well. For the lunch combo, the tsukidashi(side dishes) were amazing. They were not cheap handed with their variety. The main dish was presented by the chef himself, even though we didnt sit at a bar, which was pretty nice. The sashimi were fresh and the thickness was perfect. My dad ordered the sashimi mixed rice(hwaedupbap) and the presentation was remarkable. They also left the ingredients on the side, so the customer can decide how much of what they want to put on it! Definitely something I was digging. For dinner, my friend and I ordered the fresh fish dinner combo. They allow you to choose three shellfish types of sushi to go with the fish. I’m not a big fan, but we chose the eel, clam, and abalone. Surprisingly, they tasted pretty decent. Also, during dinner, they present you a lot of side dishes that you wont get during lunch! You need to come during dinner and try them. Overall, the food was delicious, the service was great, the prices were on the upper side(but the side dishes make up for it), and they did a good job differenciating themselves from their competition with fresh ideas on product and service. I will be back again!

LUNCH Chef’s Choice for 1 person($ 16.99) tempura, salad, 8 pieces of sushi, steamed eggs, noodle *The thing about this was that. it said it came out with noodles and when my mom asked if what kind of noodle it was. Our waitress said it’s not noodles but rice with caviar on top. the menu was misleading but I got this choice nonetheless. Also, the the plate with the 8 pieces of sushi. umm… the chefs just overdid it with the décor on the plate. I would have uploaded the pictures but my pictures all came out damaged. so I couldn’t post all my pictures. sorry, folks! Anyways, they didn’t cut up the sashimi *raw fish* into nice small slices. they actually looked repulsive like they’re disrespecting the fish. there is a picture of the plate from another Unilocaler. You can see that in the middle there’s the tuna, fatty tuna *I think that’s fatty tuna* and salmon. but they’re all long-ish. and not cut up the right way. It was hard to eat and I almost choked because they were cut too thick and too long. The fish tasted bad. Poor quality. So if you’re looking for good or nearly perfect quality of awesome sashimi. this is the WRONGPLACE to go to. I wasn’t impressed at all. The uni egg«sea urchin eggs» sushi were ok. I did, however, enjoy the steamed eggs, complimentary pumpkin soup and the dessert — rice punch«shik keh»(not even sure if I’m spelling it correctly). Sashimi over Rice«hwe dup bap»($ 11.99) raw fish, mixed vegetables, rice mixed with sesame oil, and Korean chili paste sauce **TIP: The waitresses will take your food if they THINK you’re done. Happened to me today while I was eating my steamed eggs. I was saving the steamed egg soup so I could eat it with my rice. but she took it away from me! I was so SAD! But other than that, everyone was friendly. Just the food was not good for me. My mom also had a very bad, upset stomach. I think it had something to do with the sashimi in her hwe dup bap. So yea. not coming here, again. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who enjoys eating real authentic sashimi/nigiri sushi. I might come back to try their hot cuisines instead. maybe.
