I’ve been going there for years… Buying and consigning. Shelly’s is a great place to buy because she has some great brands and current styles. Everything very clean and well organized. Sometimes there are some great sales too! I’ve got soooo many wonderful things there and everyone is very friendly.

I usually go in every couple of months and every time I go I get lots of clothing that I can wear to work. It is a great place to shop and my first stop.

I don’t have any experience with selling clothes to Shelly’s Clothesline, but I do have to say they have a great selection and everything is well-organized and priced competitively. As opposed to others in the area that I looked at(for example, women’s jeans that were simply all in one rack that you had to pick through to find the correct size), the store is organized by season and each rack by size/color. The prices are great. They have a mixture of reasonable clothes(for example, I found several pairs of Lucky brand jeans, which I love) to higher-end brands. Shelly’s daughter seems really nice, too. You also get $ 1 in Shelly’s cash back for every $ 20 spent to use on future purchases, which I am definitely going to use in the future!

So, in an attempt to make my wardrobe more«professional» looking, I’ve gone through and weeded out about 2 trash bag’s worth of clothing. Some older(6 years), some newer(with tag). I had so much that I just decided to focus on getting rid of my old(er) pants and shorts, most of which are popular name brands and in very good used condition, first. So, I decided to try to consign. I recently got word of this«great» consignment store near where I live from a retail store clerk who just gave it rave reviews, so I thought i’d give it a try. I wasn’t at all aware of this place prior to hearing about it from this girl, so I checked it out on the internet and decided to give it a try. I spent a while making sure the pants were clean, pressed, and on the proper consign-worthy hangers. Not a quick task by any means! Before I left, I called to get the exact location and to confirm that they were, indeed, buying fall clothes — pants, right?! Yeah so she told me where they were yaddayaddayadda and that they were, in fact, buying for Fall. GREAT! Excited, I jumped into my car and drove there with my pants in tow. I pull up and see a few women going in and out, some with bags. Again — GREAT! So to avoid having to lug this awkward pile of pants in and get turned away, I went inside to make sure everything was still kosher. «Oh yeah… bring them on in!» GREAT! So far, so good. I go to my car, get the goods, and go to the back«buying» room where she tells me to hand the pants on a rack. She starts to thumb through them and lays a few on a chair, hangs a few up on another rack, and leave a few on the existing rack. Her expression turns sour. «So do you only have pants?» Yes. «oh…oh dear. I just… I don’t know. I don’t think I can buy pants right now. No one buys pants. I just… I’m sorry.» NOT great. What? Are you freaking kidding me? I confirmed with you TWICE that you were buying. I mean I get what she was saying that pants are probably the hardest to sell, but COMEON. What kind of businessperson are you? If you aren’t buying freaking pants, then tell me when we talk the first time. I could have avoided the waste of gas and time. Both very precious resources! I appreciate her honesty, but this is not the type of person that I want to business with.
