Sonic Drive-In

I’ve no shame in admitting that I have been here at least a handful of times. There are just moments when I want fast food and Sonic’s milkshake offerings will yank at my cravings every once in a while.
Fast service and cheap eats. Not the best cheap eats, but like I have mentioned in other reviews, when I rate a place, I like to keep in mind what category the establishment belongs to and review and judge accordingly. This is a drive-​in fast food joint. So I have this in mind when thinking about the experience.
I like the malt shakes. I like malt. Sometimes, I like breakfast sandwiches at any hour. Tater tots can be fun once a year. All these things can be had at Sonic.

It’s ok, but make sure that you make them repeat your order back to you and that you then confirm because if you don’t, there is no telling what you will get. You’ll end up with chili and cheese on your tots, or end up with the wrong size of something or get the wrong drink or whatever.

Good place, but on a recent visit I used a coupon and noticed a surcharge of about 50 – 60 cents had been added to my bill, which of course negated the coupon savings. I emailed the corporate office about this, they were basically apathetic, I received a form letter email in response. Sorry Sonic, your dishonesty has cost you my business, at least at this location.

SONIC!!! Finally!!! Raise your hand if you have cable in California and watch TNT and ESPN religiously, only to see countless ad’s for Sonic never knowing when you’ll ever see on around. Well I guess unless you step foot out of Cali, you won’t. However I finally was able to taste the so called «legendary» Sonic Burger.
It’s your typical fast food joint w/​a twist. You order your food in your car at one of many pull in stalls. Kind of like the 60’s and 70’s, one of the Drive in Diners where they come out to your car and bring you your meal. It’d definitely different and a good change of pace from the norm in Cali.
The food itself is fairly good. Nice airy and crispy fries, and a solid toasted burger. Nothing really to write home about as a Carl’s Jr. burger is probably tastier. However, the variety and new options Sonic provides is definitely refreshing. They serve breakfast at all hours, and the shakes and version of McFlurry’s are dynamite.
Definitely something I would frequent for a quick bite every now and then, however I guess by not having one in Cali, it does reduce the chances of having a coronary anytime soon.
