Made a reservation for a party of 14. When we walked in, they seated us right away. They were prepared for us with drinks and silverware. I have to say, this has to have been the BEST service I have experienced in a long time. The service team are attentive and made sure to give us refills whenever we were low on tea, iced water, or white rice. I have never experienced such attentiveness from a service team! We ordered quite a few items: 1. Lobster Very flavorful, authentic Cantonese style lobster. 2. 海鲜两面黄 pan fried noodle with seafood The flavor is mediocre, very simple. It’s a dish you can get at any restaurant 3. 核桃虾 walnut shrimp The shrimp was cooked perfectly, there was still a crunch to the shrimp even with the mayo sauce. 4. 罗汉扒鸭 The assorted veggies were delicious, and the hidden duck on the bottom layer of the plate was surprisingly good. The duck was slightly salty, but the duck skin added an additional layer of flavor and texture. 5. 豆苗 The snow tips were very fresh, it was very refreshing and delicious. 6. 玉子豆腐 As a disclaimer, I like tofu, but never really loved tofu until this dish. This tofu was my favorite dish of the night. It had a crunch exterior layer, and a soft interior texture. It had just enough salt and sauce to enhance the flavor. 7. 京都排骨 The pork was good, it has a sweet and sour sauce — and had a great exterior crunch to it. 8. 黑椒牛柳 The beef was really tender and juicy. Subtlety flavored, but since it was cooked perfectly it was absolutely delicious. 9. 鱼香茄子 The eggplant was good, nothing special, but it was a good veggie to have for our party. 10. 鱼片 XO Sauce The fish filet was very tender, but the flavor was rather lackluster. I enjoyed the snow peas that came with the dish. 11. Crispy chicken(half) This was crunchy, and tender. It was the crowd pleaser, everyone loved this dish and it was gone within a couple of minutes.

TJ House is now a Cantonese Restaurant. There’s currently a Lobster Combination going on that makes this place pretty awesome. You can order a Lobster dish, 2 other dishes of your choice(that can’t be seafood or chef’s special) for 35 $, which is kind of a steal. It’s only 1 lobster but still… 3 dishes for 35 $ and one of them is a lobster? Yes, please. Also, another thing is, their food is QUITEDELICIOUS also. I recommend: –Mei Cai Kou Rou(a dish of braised and then steamed pork belly): I’ve had this at other places but they are always way salty and too much fat. At TJ House, they make it practically perfect. –Niu Nan Bao(Stewed Beef«Casserole»): The beef was perfectly tender and tasted delish. Not so recommend: –Salted Fish Eggplant«Casserole»: For some weird reason, the english translation ont he menu was actually Eggplant & Minced Pork with Garlic Sauce. The more annoying thing though is that we couldn’t find one piece of Salted fish or minced pork in this dish. The eggplants were also… not super tasty(lacking flavor). I recommend going to East Pearl for this dish.

Disappointed. Terrible service, the waiter have an attitude like they don’t care for your business. Order 4 lunchs, after 25 mins wait, the 1st dish were served, until we finished 3 dishes, the 4th still not coming. No say sorry, nothing. The food was just ok, not great. Overall, will never ever going back. Better to spend my money at somewhere else who might more appreciated.

Short review — Not your typical name for a Chinese restaurant right? Sounds like a sports bar chain. Well, the sister had this placed bookmarked for a while. I asked some friends while we en route and one of them informed that they used to be good and then changed things up. This was later confirmed from the server as she stated that they were Cantonese style I believe to Taiwanese style, and some menu options were no longer available. From what we ordered: Pork dumplings(steamed) more of a meh. Salt and pepper squid — I liked their version, so this is consistent if you’re also a fan of this dish. Pork belly was ok. A bit overcooked and not really much going on for the seasoning. The honey ribs was more of the highlight from all the dishes.

I really really love this place before they switch chef. They used to serve all my favorite Taiwanese dishes; I really miss their baked seafood soup(酥皮海鮮湯), it would have been a 5 star if they kept the chef. The 3 star rating is for the new chef. The cooking style was completely different from the old chef. To me, this place became another generic Chinese restaurant with similar menu. My family still goes here for the crispy duck, and their 3 entrée for lunch menu is great.

I was very disappointed when this restaurant changed owner and becamse a Cantonese restaurant, instead of Taiwanese. I had thoroughly enjoyed the Taiwanese food served there. I especially loved the beef rolls. I had only tasted the Cantonese menu once. The food is decent, though I still miss the Taiwanese menu. I wish the owner would combine the two menus. Drink to try: the kumquat tea. Very refreshing. I like that the restaurant is nice and clean.

Came here for lunch for 6 people and got the three entrees for a deal and got six entrees. Didn’t look a lot because of the small plates but was enough to fill me up! Others got two extra plates but I was fully satisfied! Staff was friendly and was there to please. Would rather prefer their old Taiwanese menu but this was just as good!

Tj house was first introduced to me by the owner of Bobo Garden on Buford Hwy. The first time I dined at TJ House, I wasn’t impressed. I felt like the foods weren’t as good as Bobo and they didn’t offer my favorite lobster cooked with ginger and scallion. So I didn’t return here until a month ago. My friend want to return and see if they have improved. I’m glad we did. The second time we dined here, we noticed that the menu changed to a similar one like Bobo. Not just that, but they have specials going on as well. For instance, for 33.88, you get one lobster, cooked anyway you like, and then two dishes from the menu, excluding chef’s specials and seafoods sections. So me and my friend usually get the specials with the lobster cooked with ginger and scallion, the second dish to be their special beef ribs grilled with honey(Add 5 $ to the specials) and either eggplant with minced pork or sweet and crispy pork. The honey ribs are really good, but they sometimes don’t have that, as I learned the second time I came back to order it. Overall, I would recommend TJ house now that they have changed their menu and have really good specials. Give them a try!

I have been to TJ House when it first opened way back when. The menu was an authentic Taiwanese cuisine. Recently, the entire menu has changed! They now serve authentic Chinese cuisine. The menu is almost identical to Bobo Garden in Doraville. Both restaurants are supposedly owned by the same owner. I will always love Bobo, but I am also very impressed this place. It is also closer to my house. No need to make that drive down to Doraville any longer. They have amazing lunch specials. 3 entrees for $ 13! & they also have dinner specials. Currently, they have a special for lobster and 2 entrees for $ 34. Amazing! The manager suggested a honey short rib dish, which was not on the menu and a $ 5 up charge. It was incredible! Way better than the Korean style galbi. I highly suggest that dish. Their ginger style lobster was also delicious! They also have a dinner special with Peking Duck and 3 entrees. Suggestions? Do not get their milk teas! They are on the pricer side and was definitely not worth it. We had a buy one get one free special & I still do not think it was worth it. Bland taste. However, my friends enjoyed their kumquat tea. Will definitely be back! PS: If you check into Unilocal, you get a free drink!
