Utopia Bar

Poor service for our party of 18 tonight. I would have thought some extra service would have been in the plan for the staff as it was a birthday party. Cool concept, but you need to pay more attention to the customers. Food and drinks were barely trickling the entire night. Must be understaffed. Can’t find reason to come back.

I don’t even want to give them one star. Bar says they close at 2 we got kicked out at twelve. On top of that the bar tender was a bitch and told us never to come aback when we tipped her over 30%. Fuck Thai place. I would say don’t go if you asked me. Way better bar 5 miles away called tavern at medlock, they are way nicer.

Smoky, loud place full of obnoxious twenty-​somethings. Still rating it high because it’s a bar and that comes with the territory. Didn’t even know this existed in Johns Creek but we stumbled in and I was pleasantly surprised to see some sort of movement and life in the area. Beers were cheap (whoop!) and bartender was nice.
My boyfriend did not agree, but I liked this place enough to want to return.

I came here with a friend to watch the Falcons game and shoot some pool. While here I noticed that they served wings and had a 50cent special on them the same day that I was visiting… which means I was obligated to order them. The minimum order for the deal was 10 wings so I got 10 lemon pepper wings, and they blew my mind. Never did I imagine I would eat such perfectly crisped wings from a bar. I highly recommend checking this place out to anyone looking for a low-​key, safe place to hang out with friends. They have plenty of flat screen TVs with lots of games on and a few bar games including pool, darts, foosball, and table shuffleboard. The staff is super friendly as well. The time I went there was nobody smoking in the bar, but as I was leaving there were a few people having some cigarettes, fyi.

Remember when you used to play pool in your rich friend-of-a-friend’s basement in high school? Of course you do, you’re at Utopia.
You know one of the bartenders from the summer before your senior year, when your mutual friend’s parents went to Russia for the summer and he threw parties featuring Captain Morgan and a deck of cards, but you don’t want to talk to said bartender because how exactly do you catch up with someone with whom your only commonality is an unremarkable sexual history with a shaggy-​haired Widespread Panic fan?
Most of your night consists of avoiding eye contact with people you either know but don’t want to reminisce with or people you’re glad you never got to know, like the guy who miraculously sprouted a chinstrap after his third attempt at senior year or the starched collar with the receding hair gel line.
You’ll wonder several times throughout the night why there are high school aged polo shirts receiving Bud Light at the bar, but mostly you’re secretly jealous that they have such a haven. Why wasn’t there a place like this when I was in high school? I was relegated to smoking weed behind the what-​used-​to-​be-​Brusters on 141.
The music shifts from Garth Brooks to Fetty Wap in the time it takes for a St. Ives housewife to exile her husband from the California King in the aftermath of the Ashley Madison hack.
And then you have to choose between being tailed by the JCPD (thick-​necked, red state, used-​to-​play-​a-​bit-​o-​ball types) or getting thoroughly reamed by an opportunistic Über, neither of which you really care about because you’re in Johns Creek and can afford either option.
The Cowboy chips were delightful though, and I was in good company ordering Mich Ultra.

I went here with a friend for the first time last Monday and doubt I’d ever go back. After taking two steps inside the place you are hit with the overwhelming smell of cigarette/​cigar smoke. There are very few bars/​restaurants that allow smoking and this place is one of them. Being a former smoker myself I am not usually bothered by the smell of smoke and I am NOT against smoking itself but the smoke here was overwhelming. If you are going to allow smoking you better have an adequate ventilation system in place and this bar certainly doesn’t.
The layout and appearance of the place itself is actually quite nice and it has a very cozy feel with plenty of comfy chairs/​couches to relax in. They also have a nice pool table, darts, and shuffleboard table in addition to numerous LCD TVs. One thing I can’t understand is why a smoker friendly lounge/​restaurant would have carpeted floors and it was very obvious that carpet was old, worn-​out, and stained.
It was a Monday evening so it was NOT very busy yet several of the tables were dirty and we ended up having to sit at a table near the back. it took significant time to get our drinks since there were no servers working the floor and the bartender was taking care of the people at the bar as well as the tables seated in the main area. After finishing our first round of drinks we waited at the table for the bartender to come back to check on us but she was very busy with an almost full bar of «regulars» so I ended up walking up the bar to order our second and last round of drinks. We also considered ordering some food but decided against it after requesting menus and being handed a wrinkled and stained paper menu that had been sitting at one of the the dirty tables near us.
In summary if you are a chain smoker and want to go to an «upscale dive bar» with bad service then this is the perfect place for you.

I had a great time here shooting darts and playing a game of chess. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a gentleman’s club (not the stripper kind), and you just feel like a million bucks when you’re here.

This place is NOT Utopia! The don’t have limoncello and everyone in here is smoking a cigar or cigarettes.
If you are looking for a very mundane low class bar then this is s great place

Bar staff is awesome and the food is great! Try the Brussels sprouts, they are roasted with a balsamic vinegar sauce of some sort and are literally to die for. Prices are really good for the area. This is the place to go to have some drinks, food and play some bar games in Johns Creek.

Decent cigar spot lots of games and neat lounge a lot of future potential can’t believe kitchen closes do early sure they’ll fix that best super beautiful bartender yo yo from cancan the best really sweat knowledgable woman owners are usually always there even cooler one reaquest which is lounge music DC style maybe some more scan vibes !

Great neighborhood hang out spot! Went with my boyfriend this weekend… it has a cool, eclectic clientele and is part bar, part cigar bar/​lounge, and entertainment with a pool table and darts… nice fireplace with ample seating around it for chilling out as well… we will be back!

Change in management or staff service is really not good 25 min and waiting for first service. They came right after and took our order

Good atmosphere, great prices and big screens.

My husband and I tried out this place last night. We had already eaten, but we stopped in for a few drinks. The bartenders were both super nice and the atmosphere is great there — like a really comfortable pub-​feel. They had college football on, so my hubby was happy with that. The bartender said the food is excellent, so we will have to come back to try it.
I will definitely come back — they have different specials every night too!

I’ve been waiting for a place like this! Great bar, great service, EXCELLENT FOOD! My favorite place to hang out.

Just left this place after sitting and being ignored for around 30 minutes. Not busy at all. I guess they must’ve missed the 6’4″ man sitting in the middle of an empty lounge

Great service and even better food! Not your typical bar fare. Popped in with some girlfriends for a quick happy hour. Great spot that is not getting enough buzz!
