So why ask how I want my burger cooked if you cook them all the same. My wife and I asked for medium rare, and our friend asked for medium. All of the burgers were a dark brown inside. I have never seen hamburger meat that color or that consistency. The menu says that the sandwiches come with Ryan’s Famous fries. Famous for what? Regular, old frozen fries with some crappy coating on them. An Irish pub with a bad burger? Not a good sign. Prices are very cheap, food was not good.

Ryans was hopefully a welcome addition to Dumont. Have eaten there 4 times. First experience was ok food not anything to write home about, service not great but they just opened. 2nd time much better great hamburger, corned beef and wings. 3rd time great wings. 4th time the burger changed from fresh to frozen, horrible pork chop that was a special at 14.99 small, overdone with frozen vegetables and a raw onion topping. Corned beef totally different I know times are tuff but keep integrity with your food. I will not be back and I truly regret that I had to comment in such a dispariging way.

Ryan’s Pub is a wonderful addition to Dumont. The comfortable atmosphere had my girlfriends & I sitting there for hours! The chicken cordon bleu, sizzling steak and the Reuben were ordered amongst our group and all were hearty portions and really delicious. I will be returning asap!

Came here for dinner with a party of 6 on Christmas Eve, and couldn’t be more pleased with the service, the atmosphere, and the food. Everything was great, including the desserts they gave us on the house! We’ll definitely be back.

First time going to this bar. I was told about this place via a friend. Was not disappointed when I got there. Friendly staff and my order was taking really quick. I ordered the Korean wings and cheese fries with bacon and everything was delicious. I loved the atmosphere of the bar. Everything felt like I was in an Irish pub. Will be going back real soon. Thumbs up.

Going for Sunday Funday? Don’t. Turn around and just go to Grant Street Café. I know this place is new but come on. I should have known I was doomed when I walked in at 12:55 for the 1:00 Giants/Panthers game and saw 2 people at the bar. Sit down, nice bartender, fine. 12 taps… yes! Extremely boring draft beers. Blue Moon, Yuengling, Coors Light, Sam, etc. Only 1 craft. I love Bangers and Mash but I don’t want it while watching the New York Giants on 7 televisions. Speaking of televisions. The cable connection was strange and they must not have the football package since every television was the Giants game. Then, it was my lucky day! I ordered wings and I was told the 50 cent per wing unadvertised secret! Maybe it’s just me but I would do everything in my power to have what’s currently hot(craft beer and Sunday Funday) especially if I was a new place. Maybe my first experience should have been for dinner. It wasn’t. I wanted to like this place but unfortunately it’s a one and done.

Limited menu for now but its all good. Very good wings, chicken pot pie is one of the best and great burgers. Great service! This will go to a 5 once they expand the Menu.

Bloodies and mixed are wayyyy over priced. Cool spot, food is ok. Mixed drinks though… Almost a joke what you pay for. Nice local spot, good food and draft beer. Price point on booze is a little advantageous, especially with finks next door ;) overall 6⁄10 its like passing class with D’s.

Killer bar we came here for an ugly sweater bar crawl we put together. The only bar able to accommodate such a large crowd in expected great service and atmosphere. I can’t wait to be back! Everyone and anyone come here !

Our first time here… since it’s an Irish pub, we came for the Irish fare. Corned beef rolls as an appetizer were tasty and plentiful — we split it between two of us, but it could have easily served as an appetizer for 6. For entrees, we had shepherd’s pie and chicken pot pie. My wife felt it was the best of each that she has ever eaten in any restaurant. Flaky crust and lots of real butter in the pot pie… creamy and flavorful. I commented to my wife that we no longer needed to travel to Montvale for good Irish fare(the Porter House). Outstanding service by our waiter Robin, warm greeting from hostess, friendly staff all around. Try the Cream Soda cocktail — if you like vanilla ice cream, you’ll love it. Only downside was that they were already out of all desserts except cheesecake on a Saturday night at 8:30. Will definitely return, and will highly recommend.

Well I came into this establishment as a patron… Not only was the management EXTREMELY rude… But I also went to this pub to watch a hockey game… I arrived around 4 pm to get a seat for a 830 game. The bartender from the am told me I can watch as well as the pm but they do not control the tvs. Management put the game on and then abruptly changed it and refused to put it back on when I asked for it… I then asked a floor manager why they couldn’t put it back on and he responded, «I should write a Unilocal, review because that’s all that matters.» So here I am sitting at the bar in which I ordered food from which was average and I ran a bar tab up because I was told that they would show he game and then didn’t… Horrible way to run a pub.

I was very impressed by this place! Great atmosphere and friendly staff. The bartender was great and made an excellent Malibu Bay Breeze ! The chicken wings, cheese fries and corned beef and cabbage rolls came out fast and were excellent, I highly recommend all three. The menu overall had a great selection of traditional Irish dishes and pub food, as well as a children’s menu. For a place that has opened up only few weeks ago, they are doing a fantastic job.

The service was great. Out waitress was attentive and very nice. They really got rid of the kinks. Very loud because of small dining room, and can’t hear people at your table. Ribeye was VERY tough and fatty. Shepard’s pie was delicious. Chicken pot pie was VERYFLAKEY and overly buttery, but delicious none the less. Corned beef was amazing highly suggest! Meat loaf and potatoes were out of this world. Pretzel appetizer was gross. Pretzels were covered in salt, and the beer cheese was griddy. Food was for the most part delicious, but the loudness and certain food items bring the stars down. You should try it, cabbage and meatloaf highly suggested!

One word. Loud! The noise level is unbearable and it wasn’t busy. Had a Reuben it was average. We also had a burger which was pretty bad. The tomato wasn’t close to ripe, and the meat had no flavor. Selections of food are minimal. The noise will keep me away more then the mediocre food.

I wanted to like this place… really did. It’s off the charts noisy… a sports bar and I’m not a sports fan. The acoustics are terrible. I ordered a burger and it was overcooked and nothing special. I can name a few local places with much better burgers. Maybe since its an irish pub one should order irish fare. The service was great however. Our server did everything she could to make us happy. The manager checked on us a few times as well. They are trying hard. I’ll probably give it another try and order something else — maybe just drinks and appetizers.

Ok, so I know this place is new and they still need to work out the kinks, but yikes! The service is terrible. I tried to come here on a Friday night and the wait was too long so we left. We went across the street and had a great meal and sat down immediately. I made a 5:30 reservation for a family dinner on the same weekend on Sunday. I arrived and it was so loud in the bar area which is barely separated from the dining area. If you are coming here with a family you might want to put earmuffs on your kids because of the foul language coming from the bar area. We sat down almost immediately at a very small table because our reservation was barely real. It took 15 minutes for someone to come and take our drink order. We finally ordered our drinks and after a half an hour of sitting at the table we still had nothing. Not a beverage, not a a glass of water, nothing. Maybe I could deal with the swearing from the bar and the sweltering temperatures from within if I just had an adult beverage in my hand. My kids were starving and thirsty and I was annoyed. We actually ordered drinks and dinner, but we told the hostess we were leaving due to poor service. They were extremely apologetic, and I know that it takes time for things to click in a new place, but this was ridiculous. We went to a similar type of restaurant in Bergenfield and had a great experience. Maybe I will try again once the restaurant is well established. As a lifelong Dumont resident, I won’t be returning anytime soon.
