Never been here for the food. But as far as late night bars go? Not my thing. It has a very bro-​ish atmosphere. Even when the place is empty, they blast music at a level which prevents conversation. Which is fine and all if that’s your thing, but I don’t understand why they do that when very few people are ever dancing. Never had any drink specials as far as I’m aware, and anything mixed is like 10 dollars. Beers will run you around 6.
The «dj» is usually someone sitting on a neaby bar table with a macbook running through a playlist.

A place to encounter strange scenarios and people lol… but not so much for anything else. I’ve been here a handful of times… and honestly I would have given a better review if the prices of the drinks didn’t go up drastically. I ordered two drinks one was a sex on the beach and a vodka and pineapple juice which were $ 10 each and the vodka used was cheap… I could taste the quality and it wasn’t the good stuff. That’s super expensive for a simple drink. Hand crafted best selection cocktails cost that much, a well drink shouldn’t. You are a pub not a high end lounge. But the past times I had went these simple drinks were only $ 7…that’s a big jump. This turned me off a bit. I guess if I ever go there again I’d stick with beer. I will not pay $ 10 for a vodka and juice.

I used to come to Poitin often since I knew a lot of people that went there. Now I kind of dip in only if I’m begged to go out by younger friends.
I’ve only really been there on weekends. Great music. Love the visual DJ (w/​music videos) concept. I’ve definitely sweat enough killing the dance floor there. Been there on NYE a couple of times. Good light show. Balloons. Fun overall, and I guess that’s what I look for the most.
The fact that the bar is actually WELL STAFFED is a huge bonus. Usually there are 2 – 3 at a time but I’ve seen up to 5 bartenders at one time and you hardly see that anywhere else. Oh and they’re friendly/​sociable too. Drink prices could be a little cheaper. If I want to spend as much as I do here I’ll just go to NYC or Hoboken. One time some employees of mine came out and I warned them to be careful with their ordering as they’re used to small/​dive locations. When they got their bill I almost laughed at their eye expression. I paid on my own so I didn’t care.
Most people I know have at least one «bad experience» story, but from what I can remember, as long as I was drinking I was also dancing so really I was just in my own world.
Since my reviews are based on weekend «party nights»:
-«very loud» due to crowding, music, and people trying to talk over it.
-«Dressy» as the girls usually try to look their best. Guys in button downs and dress tees.
-«Waiter Service» Not for drinks, but I know they serve food during the day.
-«$$$» I can definitely break $ 30 by the 4^th drink.
-«Late Night» Only have been there after 9:30pm

This is a regular spot for co-​workers and I. We always sit at the bar. The bartenders are friendly and treat us well. They pour Guinness correctly. The food is not bad and is what I expect bar food to be. I usually order from the mini green menu at the bar and not from the larger menu, since I like their buffalo chicken wrap a lot. They also have good late night specials at the bar.
The crowd can be annoying at times, but that is not the fault of the restaurant. The staff handles these situations very well.

What can I day. The Old Corky’s Corner. Good food and atmosphere. Good place to fine or have a B-​day party!

being served by the bartender, Danny, he WILL overcharge you on any and all drinks and food items you get to make more money for the bar his father owns. the rest of the bartenders are pretty awesome.

Music is decent, food was surprisingly really good for bar food, and there were definitely some pretty ladies in the house. Service was attentive and it does get a little packed, but overall it’s a nice spot to grab a few drinks. Beers on draft were decent, but nothing much for craft beer enthusiasts.

Love the Potin Still, the food is always very good and reasonably priced.

I wish I could give this place negative stars. Ridiculously expensive. Owner is a racist. Bartenders think they are sent from God. Stay away from this dump.

I was there Christmas eve and the place was packed and they ran out of tables so instead of just saying sorry no room they got a table from some back room and set us up like we were in the god father movie the service was great and the Irish food was great so you should go here if you want great Irish food and service I think this place is owned by Irish people from the home land

I loved the Irish breakfast here! It was so delicious! They have HP brown sauce and Heinz bake beans!
Definitely will become a regular here! It’s very spacious and pleasant!!!

Came here to drink the night before Thanksgiving. I got pretty drunk for a decent price. My bartender was awesome and quick. Pretty sure she was legitimately Irish too, would’ve been hard to keep up the accent all night.
She was actually very quick considering how packed the place was. I never waited long and her pours were generous. She didn’t mind making custom drink orders either. (Irish Car Bombs, Trash Cans, and black and blues all night.) I spent less than $ 50 and was feeling pretty good, so I was pretty satisfied.
The bar itself is a typical Irish pub. Dimly lit, clean, with wooden décor and items that suggest that the place is Irish. There were a good number of TVs and the music was alright.

Ever come to this place ask for the bartender Matt, guys knows his drinks n even makes his own every once in awhile. Dude knows how to make a mean AMF and his pancake shots are straight up awesome!

I have been a customer of the Poitin Still since the beginning, when Waterloo Sue’s was converted. It is certainly an improvement over what it once was.
The Poitin Still is a clean, attractive Irish pub with plenty of room for large groups if necessary. It is always busy on Friday and Saturday night and somehow manages to stay busy even with new, stiff competition from Miller’s Ale house (both fall into the large, clean, bar/​restaurant category).
They have several TV screens, so it is definitely a sports friendly bar although I find the music to be loud beyond necessity. Loud music at levels which require you to yell in order to be heard should be reserved for clubs. I don’t mind loud music, but here it is excessive at times.
A very friendly staff and good Irish food if you are hungry earns a solid three star review from me. Try it out!

Once, I broke a bottle on the bar and used the jagged edge part to threaten the people singing on karaōke night to stop. The staff almost threw me out and called the cops but I kicked the broken shards of glass in their eyes and ran.
Okay, that didn’t happen at all. I did come here on karaōke night though. I did want the singing to stop. Especially when the two drunk girls decided it was a good idea to slur-​sing-​shout duet.
Anyway, solid Irish pub. I enjoyed it. Except for the karaōke singing. I’ll have to come on a different night.

Nothing special but not bad either. It’s a good place to go watch a football game. I’ve had the fish and chips, wings and shrimp that were ok and some very good dumplings and sliders.
There were several nice beers on tap and the bartender made some pretty good shots. We had gone previously on a Friday night and it was a very young/​obnoxious/​drunk crowd with quite a wait for drinks. I much preferred my Sunday afternoon visit.

Trying to avoid mainstream bars like Millers Ale House and Boom Burger?.. COME HERE!!! its ALWAYS a great time.
The food here is great. its a little pricey with burgers being the cheapest thing at around $ 10. most platters were $ 18 and up… The drinks are reasonably priced at least. The bar tenders are all fast and know how to hustle. You’ll never be waiting to long for a drink even on busy nights.
If you are going to come here i recommend stopping in on a Friday or Saturday night. They usually have a DJ spinning some classic songs and its always a fun time. There is a dance floor which sort of gets used depending on how drunk everyone is.
Its 21+ to get in at night. theres usually plenty of good looking women every time i have been there, which is nice. Deff worth checking out if your looking for a new bar to hit with some friends.

I have always liked this place. It’s this weird mix of irish pub and night club.
I like that I can go here on a Friday or Saturday night, drink a Guinness, and dance to some music without having to deal with any type of «club scene». I was over the line out the door, bouncer eyeing you up, $ 25 cover thing when I turned 22 so, I like that this bypasses all of that.
It’s nothing fancy — but it’s always a good time.

The bartender was attentive and friendly. He literally said he would make absolutely anything we wanted. Service! The bar itself is all wood, along with just about everything else. It’s got a classy feel to it all, very European I think. TV’s inside the bar to cater to the sports crowd, Soccer is a pretty popular sport here. There’s even a projection screen that comes down when big games are on. Prices are great. They have $ 3 Red Stripes, a great affordable lager and one of my favorites. The food menu never fails to disappoint. The Blarney Fries are great and the Shepard’s Pie is an absolute favorite.
Bottom Line: Great place to have a lunch with friends. Will definitely be back!

Poitin Still (pronounced «Pocheen,» which my Irish friend tells me is Gaelic for moonshine) is one of my favorite local bars! They have great food! I love the turkey burger and buffalo wings. Nice selection of beers on tap, Smoking Loon wine and reasonable prices.
And the bartenders have Irish brogues!
