The first time I went, I was told it was a 25 minute wait… for a sandwich. Then, last time I went there, they got my order completely wrong – I ordered a Deluxe Dagwood and they gave me some kind of funky bacon grilled cheese, and this is after I was about 25 – 30 minutes for my order. Giving them one more chance, I just called in an order and was AGAIN told 30 minutes for my order of 1 sandwich. This will be the last time I got there. I understand places get busy at rush hour, but you guys need to hire some more staff or figure out a way to make sandwiches more efficient. I mean, seriously, ALL you guys do is sandwiches and salads, there is no reason I should have to consistently wait 30 minutes for a cold sandwich. Are the tomatoes and other ingredients not prepped at the beginning of the day like other shops i.e. Subway?

Great little spot. Quality product and fairly priced. Salads are huge proportions and beware pickles are very garlicky. Great eat!

Kitchens Deli has been around for years! It’s a quiet quaint store that is filled with adorably over priced knick knacks and deli style food. It’s always busy so they are definitely doing something right, but $ 8.00 for a sandwich is extremely excessive IMO! The staff is super friendly and treat you like friends. You can tell they all love their job! The food here is decent mostly sandwiches, salads, and soups! We came on the 20th anniversary(.20 drinks and cookies). SUPER excited about the price! They are known for their fountain drinks, so we got all kinds of different variations of soda. Cherry lime coke is my absolute favorite so it was nice having that as an option! The happy hour they have here is great too! Cookies are ok. Not excellent, but you can’t be .20(on 20th anniversary day).

I have been here a couple times now. Yes the sandwiches are good. The BLT on a croissant is excellent. There ingredients are fresh and everything made to order. I once had a Tuna melt sandwich which I had never thought of before and it was very tasty. There homemade chili is good as well. One of these days I’m gonna have to try a Fritos pie. I wanna say they make there drinks homemade with syrup mixed per drink. Hella fresh there. Now price wise… I think they are pretty damn pricy for what you get. Just for 2 people to eat expect to drop close to $ 20. Now what’s really good here is this. Happy Hr every Monday thru Friday from 3−5pm. This folks is worth the trip. They have Blue Bell ice cream and homemade cakes. Fountain drinks and milkshakes are on the menu also. And let me tell you, the shakes are where it’s at. Got to be the biggest shake I’ve ever seen for a Super reasonable price. You can get any flavor you want hand made to order. Trust me the shakes are well worth the trip for Happy Hr. !

Very good sandwiches and great baked potatoes. They also serve old school root beer floats. The baked potato salad is the best !

I make better sandwiches at home. And everyone was staring while we ate, very uncomfortable feeling. Will not return. Also, they have knick knacks, but they were very overpriced. Go to Home Goods, it’s better quality and at a lesser rate. I wanted to like the whole soda pop feel of the place, but I didn’t.

Ver impressed. This truly a mom and pop shop and I love it. Customer Service was at its best. I don’t mind spending money when I get service like this. The wait waa not long. There were so many people eating there in this littke gem tucked inside the store! Glad I have Unilocal to help me find places like this. I can not Say enough you have to experience it for yourself.

This place is amazing! One of my favorite places to eat! Great service. Great food. A little more expensive than you might expect, but the portions are adequate and it is well worth the money you spend. There is not a tremendous amount of seating and it gets busy at noon so if you are going for lunch be sure to get there around 11:30 or so or wait until 1pm. The Po’ Boy sandwich with a side of chili is my fav!

I 1st heard of place this place through Groupon for their Deli. This place was quite easy to spot on Main Street. It’s a large white building that looks very old school downtown building. Walking into the store, there were all these Texas knick-knacks all around. It was quite cute actually. If you’re ever looking for a gift from Texas, this is definitely your stop. I wish I had known about this place earlier. I went straight to the deli(back corner of the store). There were about 3 women preparing food, and one young lady taking food orders. So I waited patiently for my turn. I didn’t mind waiting since it was my first time, so I got a good look at their menu. Quite extensive for a little deli like this with all types of sandwiches and desserts from cookies, ice cream, malts, shakes, sundaes, cobblers, and pies. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon & tomatoes. I found out I literally build my own sandwich, so the girl asked me what bread, and cheese I wanted. This kind of confused me, and took a little longer than I had expected. We finally got it all figured out after 2 sheets of order form. I settled with a grilled cheese sandwich on potato bread with bacon, tomatoes, cheddar and colby jack cheese. It came with a side and cookie or ice cream. I settled with tomato basil soup and an ice cream for dessert. And a Dr. Pepper(no free refills after your 2nd one). The grilled cheese was Delicious because I love potato bread, and like adding things to it instead of just plain cheese to a grilled cheese. I really like the build my own sandwich, even though when I was 1st ordering I wish there was a default they would just go to. I didn’t like the tomato basil soup. The Blue Bell ice cream tasted a bit off, like maybe it’s been sitting in that freezer for too long or something. It just didn’t taste right to me. The young lady that took my order and helped me out was super nice. I really liked her and the other woman that was preparing my food. They were all so southern sweet and cute. I’ll definitely stop by for lunch again. The price is definitely affordable too

Kitchen’s Deli and Soda Fountain at Ben Franklin’s Apothecary. We always just called it «Ben Franklin’s.» What a classy joint! This place is a legitimately real, old-time diner with delicious sandwiches, soups, snacks, ice cream, and fountain drinks. The floor is checked black and white, the seats are all diner style, the service is delicious, and the walls are decorated with 1950’s era memorabilia. The food, well, I like it. My favorite sandwich there is the Dagwood, which comes with all kinds of meat on it and a side(I always get the chili). It really is a very good sandwich. They use Blue Bell Ice Cream, which you can get at the grocery store, but it’s always fun to eat at a place like this, and the malts and milkshakes they make with are grade A. Ben Fraknlin’s is, in my opinion, a landmark of Duncanville. If you live in Duncanville, and you’ve never been there, you’ve got to go. It’s like living in DC and never seeing the Washington Monument, or living in London and never seeing Big Ben. Go to Ben Franklin. Take some friends. Eat some food. Have a good time.

You don’t understand. You have to go here. Why, you ask? I’ll tell you. Hand-made, from scratch, fountain Dublin Dr. Peppers. Kitchen’s Deli is the name of the deli/soda fountain inside of the pharmacy called ‘Ben Franklin’s Apothecary’. Everyone I know simply calls the deli«Ben Franklin’s» even though that’s not the actual name. The first time I heard about this place I was in college. All it took was one sip of one of their Dublin Dr. Peppers and I was hooked. For those that don’t know, a Dublin is sweetened with Imperial sugar instead of corn syrup and they have the usual flavorings to choose from to add to it(cherry, vanilla, etc.) The sandwiches are all made by hand and you can choose each and every part of it individually(bread, dressing, veggies, type of cheese) by some kindly ladies who also make the soup from scratch. For dessert, try the humongous Blue Bell ice cream banana split or their chocolate malt. Quick story. When my wife and i were dating, I decided to pick up some food from Kitchen’s(Ben Franklin’s :-)) and have a picnic for Valentine’s Day because we both loved the food and Dr. Peppers. As I was waiting they all gathered round and wanted to hear the story of how we met and how long we’d been together and all that good stuff. When I came back the next time, a few weeks later, those that were there that night remembered, and asked me how everything went. Just something to show you how they pay attention to people, and really make you feel like you are being taken care of.

Inside the Ben Franklin’s you’ll find this adorable little old time deli, complete with little old ladies manning the counter. Kitchen’s has just about any kind of bread, meat, cheese combination you can think of. The sandwiches are huge — I typically order half. They have all kinds of sides — chips, potato salad, green salad, and AMAZING soups. I love the soups. They are delicious. Your sandwich will come with a giant pickle spear on the side. They also carry Dublin Dr. Pepper! Yum! For dessert, they have a bunch of pies as well as Blue Bell Ice Cream. There’s not a lot of seating, so during lunchtime it can be hard to find a table. Not to fear though — you can call in your order to go! I believe they also deliver but the one time my co-workers ordered in, it was a very long wait until their food arrived.
