Yes very informative on their wines and nice outside table area, which allowed us to have our dog with us which was a real plus.

Being from northern Virginia wine-country, Hawkins Cellar red wines are the some of the best reds I’ve had in a while. Tasting room attendant was very pleasant and made our tasting experience very worth the stop!

the good: customer service was the best I’ve ever experienced at a winery! Of the flight I really dug the syrah & the pinot gris, but almost all were good. the bad: they do their best to help you forget that you’re in a strip mall, but it’s still not a vineyard setting

We stopped on our way to McMinnville for a girls’ night and it was so worth it! Jim was so nice and the wine was fabulous! Jim is so knowledgable about the wine and makes the atmosphere so welcoming and friendly! With the tasting room less than an hour from Portland, I will definitely be heading back soon and often! And all of you should be heading there too!

4.5 ~ EXPERIENCE was overall great. Several different wine stewards, all very knowledgeable. Service started off a bit slow but once the pick up party was gone they were really on top of it. The seating sections was very nice. But the gravel was hard to walk on. I love that we can bring in our own snacks. WINES were bold but easy to drink. Lots of suggestions for pairing, they also had a small tables with food to try with the wines.

Happy to report that I’ve found my new go-to wine tasting spot in Dundee. Hawkins Cellar provided me one of the best tasting experiences I’ve ever had. The wines were spectacular, Jim(the man running the show) had just about the best personality a human could possess(and some pretty impressive vino knowledge, too), and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing afternoon of tasting. Hawkins Cellar has perfected more than just the Pinot Noir the Willamette Valley AVA has come to be known for. Don’t get me wrong, the Pinot is spectacular(I went home with a bottle of it, and I don’t even really like Pinots), but so is everything else. And I do truly mean that– I could have happily drank an entire bottle of every single thing I tasted. While the wines speak for themselves, this place is great for so many more reasons. The tasting room is small, but beautiful. The photography on the walls is gorgeous, yet interesting; providing plenty of fodder for your eyes to feast upon, as the tongue delights in the tasting. The outside shared courtyard is wonderful, with a weeping mulberry bush, a fountain, and plenty of seating. But I think the biggest shout-out goes to the guy running the show. Jim was so incredibly personable and approachable, despite his genius of all things wine. I learned a lot from him that day, and enjoyed every single second of it. All in all, Hawkins is a well-rounded gem.

Stopped in today to use our living social coupon. Jim was our host and he was extraordinary. He explained each wine and the food that went with it and did a great job helping us understand more about the wines. By the way the winds were terrific. I bought a few to take home. Looking forward to our next visit.

Thanks to Hawkins Cellars for giving us a free tasting for checking in on Unilocal! We had a nice visit to Hawkins during a day trip driving around Oregon wine country. The gentleman who led us through our tasting was very friendly and knowledgeable about not only Hawkins wines but had a great general knowledge about wine making and wines in Oregon. Definitely worth a stop in on your self-guided wine tour.

Oregon Wine Passport brought us here today. And I am SO glad it did. This place doesn’t have the sprawling vines or the beautiful estate but it has decent wine and Jim, the tasting room Manager, is FANTASTIC. Call me crazy — but when I go wine tasting I am not trying to just get drunk(well I am but I also enjoy more than that…) but to LEARN about the wine and experience. Jim gave us a great educational and fun experience. I will certainly recommend Hawkins Cellars to anyone headed out to Dundee and we will be back! PS — I think is says something that thus far all reviews are«5» stars.

Excellent! Their tasting room is fairly simple but the experience more than makes up for it. My friend and I came in through the Unilocal promotion for a free tasting and our time was amazing here. Jim by far was the best wine pourer in our short«tour» in Dundee. He offered lots of information about the wine, the process of wine making, and other interesting information about the area. He also brought out food to pair with the wines — sopressata and dark chocolate. This was the only winery that both of us bought a bottle to take home. I would definitely recommend to anyone stopping through.

My friend and I stopped here and were able to utilize the excellent Unilocal promotion. Jim, who served us, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. He offered great pairing suggestions and even provided pairings for us, including locally made sopressa and truffles. The prices were very reasonable. My friend and I generally prefer reds, but each ended up purchasing the white Viognier, which was fantastic and perfect for the sunny afternoon.

Wow! We stumbled upon this place on our way home from Domaine Serene and had a fantastic experience! The gentleman was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and even gave us cheeses and chocolates to pair with our wine selections and discussed how the flavors of the wines would change when we ate the food, which was spot on. We were impressed and the wine was all affordable and delicious! It’s not the prettiest location — certainly not compared to some of the hilltop estates — but if you’re looking for good value wine and friendly experience, I definitely recommend!

Spent a wonderful afternoon at Hawkins Cellars Tasting Room out on the patio! We used a Living Social deal to have a wonderful wine and appetizer pairing! It was spectacular! Jim was very knowledgeable and was able to talk about each wine with us while we enjoyed some yummy appetizers to go with each taste! The patio ambience was cute & even though we had a little rain mixed with a little sun, our experience was unforgettable– and so very Oregon. Small, but quaint tasting room, excellent wines(we loved them all!!), nice patio, friendly & knowledgeable staff… a must stop if visiting Dundee!

We had a Living Social deal to get a wine tasting, food pairing, and $ 10 off a bottle of wine. Reservations were recommended, so I called the day of to see if we could get a tasting(before driving an hour from Portland). The person who answered said he wasn’t sure if today was best, because they were having an event where club members could pick up their shipments, but to give Jim in the tasting room a call to see. So I called Jim, who enthusiastically said, «Yes, come on in!» We showed up and Jim was ready to serve us, and welcomed us to the treats provided to the club members(cheese, meats, crackers, etc.). About halfway through our tasting, the tasting room got very busy with other tasters and club members. Jim did an awesome job of remembering which wine we were on while serving all his other customers. He even included a couple tastes that were not on the menu to compare to other years. The food pairings were great with the wines, and Jim was great at explaining the wines to us newbies. At the end of the tasting, we bought our bottle of Syrah and asked to add a tip onto our credit card. Jim said that they couldn’t do that, but thanked us for thinking of him. We felt awful for not being able to tip on his awesome service, so we thought we would write a great Unilocal review to encourage others to try out Hawkins Cellars. Thanks Jim!
