Consistently great fried food plates. Super great beer specials, perfect for those hot summer days.

So disappointed! Sat down and waited patiently for a server. The place was 2⁄3 full. A table sat themselves behind us and were created by both waitresses and were served drinks. We were never acknowledged. Too bad, despite limited draft beer selection this used to be one of our favorite spots. We will not be back.

Dinner for two. This is a hole in the wall with limited beer and very cheap wine. The fish spread with crackers was good but how can you mess that up. One good thing is it is dog friendly I the patio outside. The mahi sandwich was not good, overpowering fishy smell and taste. The«seafood bisque«has more salt than the ocean. The fries were good! The management and staff are friendly but the food needs a makeover or maybe it was a bad night.

I’ll never eat at this place again. My 3 year daughter was served milk that was clearly sour, and nearly made her throw up. I asked for the owner’s contact information in case I needed to take my daughter to the doctor. I watched the waitress tell the manager about our situation, and instead of him coming over to personally apologize, he laughed at my request discussing with the waitress, and the waitress returned and pointed to the phone number on the place mat, and told me I could call the manager if my daughter needed medical attention. I said no thank you, and I told her I watched him laugh when she explained it to him, and I asked for the owner’s contact information again. The manager came to my table and proceeded to tell me the date on the milk carton had not expired, so the milk was still good, and he gave me the co-owner’s contact information.

Maybe I came on a bad day… blackened grouper was not blackened and tasted like tilapia; food was very bland and over priced! But they had nice service.

It was so good we had lunch here twice on our vacation! Great prices and huge portions! Close to Honeymoon Island! Try the burgers!

Yes, It’s a shack. It’s not much to look at but the food is great! There’s not much room to sit inside, maybe get carryout if it’s busy. But do stop and get some food. I wish we had a place like this in colorado where I moved.

Finally went here with my family after months of rave reviews from them. I got the grilled mahi mahi which was just delicious! The rest of the table consisted of a hamburger, wings and a pitcher of beer and everything was great! My mom got the smoked fish spread and it tastes perfect after a salty sunset on Honeymoon Island. I wasn’t expecting a lot from this little hole in the wall but I can’t wait to go again! Another beach trip might be just the excuse to visit the Sandbar Grill again!

Ok I have come here many times, but not in years, I forgot all about it till I was passing it today on the way back from Honeymoon Island. I had the gator bites. Love gator and you just can’t find it everywhere, so when I see it I order it! It was absolutely delicious and cooked spot on, oh yeah the memories were coming back. My friend had the blackened grouper sandwich, which of course I sampled, we both loved it, it was teriffic, no complaints on any food. This is an old established, roadside bar and grill. It is picnic tables in a parking lot, It sure doesn’t look like much from the outside. But you will notice many vehicles and a lot of people, that always tells some kind of a story. Service and décor are definately not a priority, food is the priority, as it should be. What’s a girl to do? If ya love gator, you take it whenever you can find it, even sweating in a parking.

Manohman. Not so good. Ordered a fish sandwich and it was two fish sticks on a bun. I am putting this order in to go and the waitrox tells cookie to do the order rush. Cookie stands there talking to some crone for like 10 minutes before he attempts the sandwich. And lemme tell you for 20 bucks I coulda got a mc fish and called it a day.

Very good food! We had burgers, fries, onion rings and potato salad. Everything was delicious. Our waitress was very nice and sociable. The owner came and talked with us tons and was so nice. Not much on the outside but don’t judge it for that — the food was excellent! I recommend you try it. We had been coming from Honeymoon state park and just wanted some good food and this place hit the spot!

Took a seat at the rain soaked particle board tables that had swollen to such an impressive size that they bumped off their rubber side-stripping. I find this sort of thing amusing, and the live music was great with a beachy food truck feel. Service was great, very attentive, and the drinks were fairly priced. I’d stick to the beer here, since they have Malt Liquor beverages that taste surprisingly like vodka, but in the end, it’s all vodka or rum flavored beer. I gazed skyward and felt dwarfed with patriotism as I realized I was being covered by the hugest looming American Flag I’d ever seen. So why two stars? I ordered potater skins, fried mushrooms and a grouper sammich. All covered in so much grease that I was slightly disgusted, and I LOVE grease. It might have been that the squeeze cheese on my tater skins offended me since they went thru the trouble of adding real, large strips of delectable bacon, and then ruined it with Squeeze Cheese! I know they must have actual cheese there. I know it, and I’m pissed they couldn’t afford me any.

Been wanting to stop by here for years and finally did after last night’s sunset at Honeymoon Island. What I will say is that the service here is extraordinarily friendly and thorough. I’m really keen on a restaurant who has servers who will walk by and check on the status of patrons whether they’re in their«section» or not. 2 or 3 times, we had wait staff other than our server ask us if we needed anything. Good job Sandbar. As for the food, what I will say is that’s it’s good, but not the best. But the prices are really good. For example, I had a blackened grouper sandwich(see Gigi’s pic) and it was only $ 9. I’ve never had such an inexpensive grouper sandwich, so I was obviously happy about the price. What I found odd, especially since half of the food on the menu is fried, is that there was no option for a fried grouper sandwich. I’m trying to avoid fried food, so it was probably for the best, but I think the option should be there. La Chica had potato skins, which is one of her favorite bar foods, and they made a huge mistake by pumping squeeze cheese on them. Were we at the movie theater or a bar? Sooooooo strange. If you scrape of the cheez-whiz, they’re damn good. Not a bad place overall, but not sure if I’d go back. I liked the live music outside because the guy was playing some jams from the late 70’s, but there are a lot of other places close by that might be a little better in regards to their food.

Frozen garbage out of box. We ordered fried shrimp and scallops. Both were thickly breaded from the food manufacturing plant, worse than bad frozen fish sticks. The«scallops» weren’t whole scallops if they were even scallops, but they came out raw/still frozen in the middle. The owner PRO-RATED our refund because we cracked open three to confirm they were raw. Just unbelievable trash. This is a place to go to drink swill(not eat) if you like breathing exhaust with the noise of a busy intersection and lousy guitar player while overlooking an oil-stained parking lot.

Don’t know if I hit the Sandbar on an off night, but I was really disappointed with my meal. The service was atrocious, in spite of being one of only 3 tables being occupied that night. Getting anyone to our table was like pulling teeth, and that includes after chasing down a waitress who said she’d «be right back.» I’m not sure what her definition of «right back» is, but it’s definitely not«soon» I had the barbecue pork plate and beans. The pork was disappointing. Very dry and overcooked. Beans were ok, but nothing to write home about. I got down a little less than half the meal and took what I didn’t eat home. After thinking about it overnight, I had no idea why I’d do such a silly thing, and I tossed it in the trash. I’m not sure I have a reason to go back and give it another shot. Maybe if I’m in the area, but I definitely won’t be driving out of my way. Atmosphere: 2 Service: 1 Food: 2 Value: 2

This is a fun little shack on the side of the road at the entrance of the Dunedin Causeway. Its a «burger joint» for sure. I ate here a few times back in college. On this visit I ordered the special sirloin. It was as expected and the sides it came with were very good. My GF ordered the Burger, and it was good. They offered us $ 1 Shooters that was butter pecan soft serve and syrup. It was the perfect size and nice way to get a desert but not too much. We were greeted by the owner to see how were were doing and she made recommendations. She was very nice.

This is a place you’d drive by a few times and think, «Uh, is that a trailer? I shouldn’t eat there.» But, you’d be wrong. You should definitely eat here. Yes, this place is a double wide with a patio but what it lacks in actual walls it makes up for in charm and fun. My boyfriend and I randomly stopped here one night after a tough workout. We were starving and a salad just wasn’t gonna cut it. I was craving a burger and fries while my boyfriend ordered the Thursday night sirloin special. Neither item disappointed. The fries were perfection and while my burger wasn’t a stand out, it was exactly what I wanted. The boyfriend loved his sirloin and mashed potatoes and didn’t leave any on the plate. To close out our post workout pig out we ordered the $ 1 shooter desserts which was basically a little cup of butter pecan ice cream with some delicious syrup drizzle. They were perfect. This place has live music, an owner who stops by the table just to say hi and see how everything is. The service was fast, friendly, and easy on the eyes. This place lives up to the phrase«never judge a book by it’s cover.»

I was in Tampa for the day for work, and was looking for a quick bite. But I also wanted to see some sand and some sun before heading back home to NY. So I looked on Unilocal and found this place! Initially I had a hard time actually finding the place(as it’s behind the Mobil gas station), but I finally found it, and plunked myself down on one of their picnic tables. The server was super sweet(and I think she called me «hon» which I found to be charming), and she recommended the mahi mahi wrap which was SPOTON. The fish was cooked perfectly, with a hint of ranch, wrapped with lettuce and tomato in a wrap. YUM. She refilled my iced green tea often which was nice, and even gave me a top for it when I left so that I wouldn’t spill it all over myself in the car. All in all, a great find, and hope to come back sometime when I’m back in Tampa! If I lived closer I can so see myself being a regular here.

As I live about a half mile away from the Sandbar, I still could not say better than our visitor from San Fran! I will say the burgers taste like they just came off the backyard grill. The Mahi Mahi Sandwich(I selected the lemon-pepper choice) was delicious. And pitchers of beer are cheap! :) A group of us worked on the front entrance lawn to our neighborhood. Our reward was going to The Sandbar for lunch and«a few» pitchers. Life is good in Dunedin!
