Winn-Dixie

I’ve been coming to this Winn-​Dixie for Year’s but today is my last time. sick and tired of coming to the store and they don’t have anything in stock that’s in their flyer. Off the Publix I go! TOM YOU WERE NO HELP

The prices are usually pretty good.
I’ve never left this store without being completely pissed.
I’ve watched managers yell, belittle and humiliate employees in the aisle.
Every cashier looks completely miserable and is usually rude.
Once I ran in to buy some milk. Stood in line for 10+ minutes while the cashiers talked amongst themselves since the manager was away. They acknowledged me right away «will be right there sir» and then continued talking to each other.
Yet I know I will be here again because the location is too convenient.
And I will regret it again.

This store is depressing. Dirty and outdated, always empty, cashiers always slow and seem angry or depressed to be working there. And, I can’t stand that über loud stupid bell customers ring — some silly marketing idea from the 1950’s that still exists at Winn-​Dixie.
This location was so convenient to my last house and every time I would convince myself to run in for a few items I would be saying ‘never again’ after taking 15 minutes to get through the checkout line with the 1 other customer in front of me.
Overall, Winn-​Dixie has good sales on staples and the produce at this location is decent. There, I said something nice ;)

The lights at the intersection make it easier to go here than to Publix on the opposite corner. They have great prices and BOGO deals.
I will still go to Publix for super fresh Butcher counter meats and better selections on cheese though.

Let me start off by saying that Winn Dixie is definitely not publix and they are certainly not up to the same standards as my beloved publix across the street. I don’t normally review chains like grocery stores but my experience here was less than good so I wanted to share.
I only came here to score a deal on a bogo item that was in their flyer. Being a «crazy couponer» I spend alot of time in grocery stores (okay, well mostly publix), but this ain’t one of them. The parking lot is a hot mess, also known as pothole city! The sad attempts to patch them up is a failure.
Inside, the clientele is odd. Something about the feel of entering this store is depressing to me, even since they did a slight renovation a few years back. I checked out the prices of a few items and was not impressed.
After 10 minutes of wandering to look for my desired item I still couldn’t find it. Made a pit stop to the ladies room in the mean time. It was not clean. Best part was probably the cockroach I found in the bathroom stall. Eek. I hold grocery stores to the same cleanliness threshold as restaurants and this was a big red flag.
Next I proceeded to ask an associate to help me locate the item. He promptly said they were out. I got a rain check but I’m honestly not sure if ill bother coming back. On the way out, by the exit door, there is a bell with a sign that says «ring this bell if you had a great experience» or something along those lines. I most definitely did NOT ring that bell.
Only perk to coming here would be for those who use their gas perks saving program, but its not enough to make me a return customer sadly.

Stock is limited but there are some good deals to be found. I only go to this store when there is a great deal to be had. There is certainly no comparison between Winn-​Dixie and Publix across the street. This Winn-​Dixie while being redone a couple years ago still feels dark and outdated. You certainly can not miss the seafood department as the smell will hit you from a 100 feet away. There is not many options in what they stock so if you are looking for something specific you maybe out of luck. Staff is nice enough but certainly don’t go out of their way to help or greet you.

OK, I can’t help shopping here when I know I will get a break in gas prices! I’ve already scored 10, 15, & 20 cents off a gallon of gas and when you have a Dodge HEMI engine, it helps.
The good things about this store are the people who work here are very nice and customer service rocks! They will order stock if you want it. AND that’s very important because I’ve been spoiled at Publix andf their extensive choices. WD is lacking in certain stocked items and the variety is just not there. But, like I said, they can get it for you. Gas talks! :)
